>le cyber cosplay

Pls don´t.

Furniture for cyber:

As a rule, the eyes must be at the center of each screen.

If you set each screen inside a hub or a headgear you don´t need seats, but a chaise lounge with access to cable plugs.

Then , the user interface must switch or have ways to render each screen.

There. Now start remixing it.

Honestly, while my first instinct was to laugh at OP, there's really nothing wrong with /cyber/ aesthetic. It's fucking gorgeous.

though you'll never *be* /cyber/ without face-recognition cameras and corresponding doors

If you are going to glue colored LEDs everywhere, use red ones.

They won't fuck up your biorhytms, and you can handle some light-sensitive chemicals in red light as a bonus.

Okay, no one really bothers with camera film anymore, but photo-resist on PCB is still a pretty common thing.

Although, you can use bright blue LEDs during the day as a coffee substitute, to help yourself wake up/stay awake, but usually bright white light is good enough too.

Space saving furniture is always nice to look at, even though a lot of it is very gimmicky, and I have my doubts about mechanical rigidity.

There were those, basically room inside a room, a closet with a sound isolated walls, compfy chair and a computer in it. Forgot how they're called. Game pods?

But what would you put in it?

 No.40566

A rack is not something you put in something, dumkoff. It's something you put something in.

That's what I said. What would you put in your rack?

 No.40569

>>40568

wew, I can't read.

Servers, naturally. And switches, and a good gateway device. Use fiber, it looks fucking schway, all slim and sleek compared to the nasty fatness of cat5+.

That, or 10gbe or better. 40gbe has these fuckheug cables that just scream I MEAN BUSINESS, YOU FAGGOT.

 No.40570

>>40569

Okay, you got yourself UPS, switch, gateway, file server, two cpu servers.

That'll cover your typical at-home needs, and even with a lot of padding it'll be 10 U = 0.5m or a quarter of a full rack. You can put more cpu servers, but I doubt they will be of any use, other than heating the room.

And what the point of fiber if you connected to the net through copper anyway.

 No.40600

>>40570

You're a filthy tasteless queer if you don't rackmount your desktop as well, that's another 4U. Also, that big of a UPS will be 2U minimum, and it's best practice to have 2.

>what's the point of fiber

jesus christ anon how do you think you're going to get those files from your storage to your servers and desktop? Even if you went with 4-port 1gbps NICs and set up link aggregation on the switch, you're looking at 4gbps tops, and you're wasting any and all speed potential. If you're doing a proper SAN, you're critically bottlenecked, especially if you're doing virtualization on both servers.

However, 10gbps single-port switches go for $20 on ebay right now, Mellanox brand. Cheaper than fiber. It just doesn't look particularly exciting while plugged in. Have fun shelling out for the SFPs, though.

Never liked computer desks. Always break, keyboard tray gets stuck and chews on wires, it's hard to disconnect PC when you need to, etc. So, last time I went shopping for furniture, I decided to keep it simple and just bought plain plank-with-4-legs type of table and was more than happy with it.

But now I started to get into ergonomics, and think maybe I should give computer desks another chance, because everything is wrong in my current setup, monitor is too low, keyboard is too high, and not enough storage space.

 No.40616

I don't know why so many in this thread are deriding you, OP, other than to enforce a fog of elitism because "their views of cyberpunk is more correct than yours". That said, I don't recommend anything from IKEA. In my own style, I would buy things that are wiry and low and easy to retract, expand, store, and low to the ground. Nothing wooden.

I don't know what you're looking for other than cyberpunk and furniture. Do you want to buy a light up minimalist pale colored chair?

>easy to retract, expand, store, and low to the ground

Sounds like kotatsu.

Or floor tables in general, those are cute.

Could go for a /cyber/ desk. Possibly just general decor additions altogether.
