channel operator here
as i said before, the channel is open to any who want to use it, the network is multipurpose. the server hosts a few sites/services with irc being one of them. we do have an ssl port and as i stated previously, you can connect through tor. i myself am really big on opsec, but i know a lot of people here could care less. in order to accomodate both, we allow for tor connections, ssl connections, and plaintext connections. you are free to chose any you'd like.
we use cloudflare because we have been hit with ddos attacks in the past. the web client is there for people from /pol/ and /b/ who show up every now and then to chat about election debates/chimpouts/etc while they watch our streams in cytube.
i do not recommend the webclient, and strongly advise that you use a dedicated irc client. because yes, javascript is evil.
we at uncleb have no interest in your personal data and believe that each visitor should decide for themselves the level of security that they wish to implement.
as stated before, the server is down for maintenance, but we are working on getting https enabled asap.
>tl;dr you can use it how you want, or not at all ya goof
