So, the /cyber/ Tox community is dead, as is the retroshare from what I was told, so let's try an IRC channel.

Network is irc.uncleb.net

Channel is, obviously, #cyber

 No.40180

channel operator here, lets have fun in here guise, everyone is invited, not a hugbox, but lets keep things civilish. bring ur projects, ideas whatever. trying to get a good community going.

if you'd prefer another channel or network, don't mind us just keep doing wat you're doing.

Nice try NSA.

there is a ssl port, and you are free to use vpn or any other sort of location obfuscation tools. you can even connect through tor.

>>40185

WebIRC works only with Javascript enabled which defeats the purpose of all anonymity tools.

No, thanks NSA. I won't download an IRC client with malware / backdoor in it.

 No.40191

>>40189

write your own. IRC protocol is so easy you literally can just telnet to a server and type all commands manually, and it will work.

Just fucking look at this place. Does it give you a government vibe at all?

>Just fucking look at this place. Does it give you a government vibe at all?

Not him but yes, it's using cloudflare.

That means we have to use a proxy to visit that website over tor.

Also cloudflare decrypts and re-encrypts all https traffic that goes through them, but it seems that shithole website doesn't even support https.

And i can't even figure out what the ports are for connecting. That whole website is just one massive piece of cancer.

Anyway, IRC is alright, >>40189 is the world's worst troll or NSA agent.

Still won't visit this particular channel because i can't without the port.

 No.40196

>>40195

Port should be 6667. That's the one I'm using and I'm in.

Can you change CSS of your web-IRC to make it look more cyber?

 No.40212

>>40209

Here's a nickel, get yourself a real irc-client kiddo.

 No.40216

>>40212

No you lazy faggot. Change your css. Or is that too hard for you?

 No.40221

>>40216

You're telling someone to change something because you don't like it. Do you know how much like a tumblrina you sound right now?

 No.40223

>>40221

But if he won't change it, he shouldn't be surprised that his IRC is so dead.

 No.40224

>>40223

So use a client if you hate the CSS that much.

Or don't, I frankly don't care.

 No.40225

>>40216

Using web-browser is not cyber by itself, no css will ever fix it.

channel operator here. irc is down for maintenance to the uncleb network. its worth mentioning that the uncleb network is not really a /cyber/ based endeavor. we have many other projects we are currently working on, including an anonymous social network, a wiki, and a few other things. uncleb is a small group of chan users from various boards, so we have something for everyone.

http://cytu.be/r/uncleb <== our cytube has become very popular this past year.

point being, i run the /cyber/ channel, but not everything on our web portal is cyber. only the channel.

>>40216

>>40224

not these guise, but they do have a point. nothing personell kiddo.

>>40223

unfortunately, i realize no matter what i do with the irc/website it will never be schway enough for some people. that's fine. like i said in my first post, if anyone prefers a different community, don't mind me.

>reddit board

>reddit language

it's really hard to be supportive when you act like either cancer or NSA.

cloudflare and similarly designed CDNs are evil, javascript is evil, calling people "edgy" is evil and http is evil.

IRC itself is not evil but if people use custom nicknames instead of all using a random default nick that is different each time then it makes surveillance really easy. It would be better if your IRC was only reachable via tor/i2p but even then nicknames make things a lot easier for the NSA.

All in all i believe you are good at heart but have absolutely no experience which makes it difficult to trust you. On the other hand we shouldn't trust anyone so as long as you make it possible to use your services in a secure manner i don't think we should hate on you too much. On the other hand you could configure your server in a way that makes everyone anonymous by default instead of forcing people to set everything up correctly and make no mistakes.

>>40196

>Port should be 6667. That's the one I'm using and I'm in.

that's usually the cleartext port, are you sure your connection is encrypted?

 No.40261

>>40250

Well, >>40248 and >>40196 are me so I'll be addressing both of the replies.

I apologize for the use of reddit language, but it was needed for communication.

You're also right in that I have no experience. I'm barely learning Python let alone how to secure myself.

Making it reachable through I2P or Tor is a good idea, though I'd need to talk to the channel op about that.

Because of not being the channel op (but being OP in this thread), I'm not sure on the encryption status.

channel operator here

as i said before, the channel is open to any who want to use it, the network is multipurpose. the server hosts a few sites/services with irc being one of them. we do have an ssl port and as i stated previously, you can connect through tor. i myself am really big on opsec, but i know a lot of people here could care less. in order to accomodate both, we allow for tor connections, ssl connections, and plaintext connections. you are free to chose any you'd like.

we use cloudflare because we have been hit with ddos attacks in the past. the web client is there for people from /pol/ and /b/ who show up every now and then to chat about election debates/chimpouts/etc while they watch our streams in cytube.

i do not recommend the webclient, and strongly advise that you use a dedicated irc client. because yes, javascript is evil.

we at uncleb have no interest in your personal data and believe that each visitor should decide for themselves the level of security that they wish to implement.

as stated before, the server is down for maintenance, but we are working on getting https enabled asap.

>tl;dr you can use it how you want, or not at all ya goof

underage faggots detected

 No.40317

The IRC is back up. Network is now uncleb.ga/6667

 No.40350

I think the reason the /cyber/ Tox community is dead is because the /cyber/ 8chan community is dead

 No.40357

ofc Tox is dead, everyone added the others because they browse the same board. No personal connection. Why should one actually start a chat if one cann post here and reach more than one random user?

 No.40359

>>40357

Because groupbots exist for Tox, we have a group at the moment (pass is schway), the passwords are either cyber, schway, or a variation of the two, at least one person has remade the group every time it gets nuked, and part of making a personal connection is taking the first step, which varies widely from person to person making Tox a reasonable first step for many.

 No.40394

>>40317

Nobody cares kid.

 No.40512

>>40357

this.

having discussions on /cyber/ is cool and all but i don't wanna get too personal with you faggots. literally 99% of people here are just lazy sacks of shit, not worth anybody's time.
