Honest thoughts on this man?

I'd like to demystify him a bit, and see past the lies of the media, I'm open to all opinions.

I'll preface this by saying I absolutely don't agree with everything he stands for, but I have come to the conclusion that he is by far in a way the BEST option of all the candidates save Sanders, who has relatively no chance of becoming the democratic nominee.

First of all, why is he running? He's 70 years old and a billionaire. His family is historically very long lived (the ones that aren't alcoholics). He could spend the last 20-30 years of his life playing golf and fucking his supermodel wife. He's influential enough he probably could make anyone else the front runner in his place. What does he gain from it? I don't buy that it's just a power trip, because he's not a dumb person. He just isn't. As much as the regressive left likes to meme that he's dumb as a box of rocks, he's incredibly smart and incredibly cunning. He graduated from a very prestigious school and turned a few million dollars into well over 10 billion and owns high exposure properties in 4 continents. He has to have SOME plan here.

Are his policies really that bad? He is a populist and a protectionist. He opposes TPP, NAFTA, and destructive globalist policies. He has absolutely no corporate donors. The media (who ARE corporate owned) like to paint this image that he's "the man" when "the man" seems to hate him quite a lot.

Is he really a bigot/racist/misogynist/etc? I've seen NO examples of him being homophobic, literally none. He's EXTREMELY socially liberal and economically centrist and has made it this far in the republicans by masking it with the traditional state's rights cop-out. He even wants legal weed to be a state's rights issue. He says that he wants to repeal and REPLACE Obamacare, and has said on numerous occasions "we're going to make it as free as possible, but there will always be people with nothing, and we can't let them die on the streets". And misogynist? Where is that even coming from? What has he ever said that's misogynist? Insulting SOME women automatically means he hates ALL women? I don't buy it. There are only two things which I can even begin to accept MIGHT be misconstrued as being "bigoted". The first is his comment on ILLEGAL Mexican immigrants which simply says "They're not sending their best, they're sending their criminals" which is arguably true, but it doesn't matter if it's true, it's not racist. Like at all. If Mexico was a white country he wouldn't be getting any of this flack. And the second is his "total and complete shut-down of Muslim immigration" which is yes, perhaps a bit harsh, but you seriously have a regressive and dangerous ideology that manifests itself in the form of violent extremists. It doesn't matter if the majority of Muslims are non-violent, they're still religious extremists nevertheless because the core tenets of their faith fly in the face of western, secular, values we claim to hold dear. I'm a staunch atheist but it's easy to see that the Amish, the Buddhists, etc aren't committing violent acts of terrorism.

He seems like the last choice we have to take back the world from the globalist corporatists for better or worse. This will be the last chance we get.

In the sense that he thinks they should be able to have their own sovereign country sure. In the sense that he's going to send more goys to die for Israeli wars no.

I don't care much about elections because I don't believe that presidents have much inpact on policies, even independent ones, like op-pic.

Still, if someone has a chance to disturb the boat so to speak, there's no one else.

On the other hand, I'm not sure which is worse, puppet of corporations that operate on very predicateble motivation of profit-seeking, or some grandiozo full of crazy ideas and enough brouzouf and power to try them out.

Also, he kinda reminds me, in both look and demeanor, of russian politician Zhirinovsky https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vladimir_Zhirinovsky who is pretty much a poster child for "controlled opposition".
