This is a post-apocalyptic scenario, so the main concern is and always will be the management of resources. Even if the situation is highly militarized, most of the time won’t be spent fighting, but just trying to survive.

Clothes
The tactical jacket is clearly the best choice, followed by the leather jacket. Kevlar starts losing its protective capabilities after 5 years, and much earlier if it gets wet. Besides, a vest only helps if I have access to medical facilities to treat wounds on my limbs (which I won’t have). I will be able to fight much more effectively If I’m not shivering from hypothermia of passing out from heat stroke. The leather is tempting in case I choose a motorcycle, and because it comes with sunglasses and gloves.

Weapons
Tough choice. If the world hasn’t completely gone to shit the pistol might be useful because it is cancelable, but if the world has gone to shit then I have to choose between the rifle and the shotgun. The 12-gauge is the most versatile firearm in the world, with it I can hunt anything from turkeys to elephants, and that includes hairless apes. The rifle has longer range and two extra rounds, but not only would I not risk long-rage shots, but each 00 buckshot fires 8 9mm pellets, meaning that each shot from a shotgun is equal to several shots from a rifle. Shotguns also have a greater range than people who play videogames think. Going with the shotty.

Equipment
Initially looks like a tough choice, but then you realize that without the most basic tools the fancy equipment isn’t useful. The kukri and multi-tool are the best choice, as the axe is too heavy and not versatile enough.

Garage
APC and gyrocopter are immediately out. At this point it mostly comes down to personal preference, and I choose the ATV. Compared to the interceptor it is more economic, versatile and discreet. Compared to the motorcycle it is safer, less likely to draw attention in civilization, allows for water cruising (which no other vehicle does) and probably handles cargo better. I also don’t trust batteries.

As for the mystery choices, the horse it the only one that I would want to swap for.
