/dbz/ - Dragon Ball

The first 5, Wrath of the Dragon, the 2 TV specials and Battle of the Gods are all good. The Broly movies and Cooler 2 are shit. The rest are meh.

Battle of Gods is the only one that's actually good. The rest of the movies are meh at best, and they get worse as they go along, generally. But they're short, and they're still DBZ, so they're worth a watch if you're a fan. Just watch them in order.

The specials are better anyway, they're all good, except Episode of Bardock (the second Bardock one) and that doesn't count.

Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans is better than all the movies, and that's essentially a collection of cutscenes from an NES game.

Oh yeah, meant to also point out that all the ones except Battle of Gods don't actually fit into the timeline or anything (though filler in the anime still references them), at least unless you pull some crazy mental gymnastics as to where they're supposed to fit (so like four movies happen in the 10 day wait until the Cell games). They're also all like 40 minutes and hardly count as movies, they're basically just specials that they released in theaters.

Battle of Gods is an actual movie with an actual feature length runtime that actually fits into the canon of the series. You can tell it's the only one Toriyama paid attention to. It's in a whole other league compared to the other movies.

Just watch all of them, in order. Some are good, some are okay, none of them are so terrible as to not be worth seeing at least once.

Just don't listen to anyone's opinions. It won't have anything to do with what you, personally will like.

only battle of gods is canon, and therefore its the only one you should watch.

bardock is semi-canon as well, so its watchable. same for future trunks.
