and how does this relate to its validity in the universe? besides, I and many others enjoyed it immensely, despite its blatant status as a cash in on the DB legacy; actually the only two sagas I really liked were the Super 17 and Shadow Dragon sagas

how? no one even knows what Super is about, and Gods' canon status is also being questioned anyway, so it's rash to assume it can nullify anything, and there is nothing in Gods that specifically prevents any of the events/concepts of GT taking place/existing

overall, it's a pretty autistic thing to say, GT is canon, or at the very least it takes place in a divergent timeline (COMPLETELY depending upon how Super ends up dealing with GT, which due to how Super is being produced by Toei, I HIGHLY doubt that their corporate bigwigs over there will allow Toriyama to invalidate GT, and since it takes place "right after their battle with Majin Buu" that right there gives us a timetable and allows 7 years for the series to play out before anything from GT takes place

I may be a GT fanboy, perhaps I am because it was the one that I grew up with, but I just really had to address the illogical arguments I've found surfing the more cancerous parts of the web

and another thing, really, why did everyone hate GT so much? the writing was only marginally worse than many of the goofy and even serious sections from Z

and actually, since there was no manga for Super, you can immediately argue that Super, despite having Toriyama more involved, isn't canon since it isn't an adaptation of a manga

Using that logic, you could also argue that since GT isn't an adaption of a manga, it isn't canon. Toriyama was involved in some of the artwork, but that's it. Doesn't mean it's cannon. In fact, Toriyama stated himself that DBO is canon, which would automatically make GT not canon because if you played DBO you'd know that the ending for the Z fighters is quite different.

GT is also in no way shape or form canon to the manga. Toriyama didn't make it, nor did he say it is canon, so it literally cannot be. Sorry. Maybe you've got a bias for it because you grew up with it.

That's because GT contains no filler. The plot holes that occur in DBZ are in the filler, like when Tien, Yamucha, Kuririn, and Chaozu go back to fight the Saiyans 100 years before then. That was filler.

Look, I'm not going to say GT was terrible, it wasn't. But it was basically just an elaborate fanfic. Like Dragonball Multiverse. And you know what? Multiverse is better than GT.

Hell, the original Dragonball sucked in comparison to Z or GT, but nobody brings that up.

my headcanon is that dbz has multiple canon timelines

db -> dbz kai -> db super

db -> dbz movies and certain elements of dbz -> dbgt

especially with stuff like db online and xenoverse
