Read this before posting here

Deepfreeze.it is a website that primarily concerns itself with the unethical practices of game journalists. This means that people like Christina Hoff Sommers, Milo Yiannopoulos, Ralph, The Honey Badgers, Hotwheels, game developers (unless they work/used to work in game journalism) and DiGRA academics will not be added to DeepFreeze. Threads which demand these people to be added to the website will likely be deleted. Other threads about concerns that have already been addressed will be deleted to prevent new/important concerns from being drowned out.

Read more about it here: http://deepfreeze.it/advanced_guidelines.php#entry-equal

>why aren't Ralph and Milo on DeepFreeze?

Neither of the two are game journalists.

>then why are there so many people listed as 'non-journalists'?

This either means that the information is incomplete, or that the person is no longer working in game journalism.

The label 'former journalist' or 'formerly in journalism' might replace the title in the future.

Also, a small number of journalists that were involved in the Max Temkin, Brad Wardell and 'gamers are dead' articles have been added for the sake of completion.

>how are conflicts of interest filed?

Patricia Hernandez writing six times about her friend Anna Antrophy counts as one conflict of interest.

Counting all six articles as individual entries would unnecessarily inflate the total amount of improprieties.

>how are members of the GJP filed?

Do we have any relationship graphs for journalists? For example like what https://vndb.org/v14/rg shows for games or how attached pic does for characters?

In case you've missed it, major update to the article. Now covers all cases of publisher pressure.

Eerily, quoted Ben Kuchera and Totilo a couple of times as proper sources.

Also posted on KiA to a grand total of less than 200 upboats. Doesn't seem this specific article is very popular.

It's to my knowledge the most complete article available on the net about publisher pressure on journos, so ensure you make use of it when people bitch that GamerGate doesn't care about this stuff.

people might say gamer's are dying out because games are so niche. but in a world where everybody buys a copy of a popular game, there will always be the people(be that me or woman) that buy the game and the collectors edition and the season pass and 100% the whole thing. there will always be the gamer. rock on deepfreeze.

Keep in mind that Zoe Quinn implied tjat Grayson was a beta tester on the game:

Grayson denies that he was a beta tested for DQ (see the twitlonger post you linked to) but then again he has a motivation to minimize his involvement in the game's production.

Back before GG even started, Andy Chalk was a paragon of dodgy journalism and shaky ethics.

The most memorable examples are when he wrote advertorials masquerading as news for a porn company on The Escapist with no disclosure, despite SugarDVD itself mentioning the positive coverage on its "become a paid affiliate" page.

His SugarDVD "news" reports (I remember he wrote them at least twice) are even dodgier because The Escapist had a strict PG13 rating for its users and a zero tolerance policy on porn or anything sexual (one user got permanently banned for just posting a tame MS paint stick figure image of a sex position), and at the same time he started writing these SugarDVD pieces, a lot of users complained that The Escapist was serving them porn ads and porn pop-up all over the site.

It's also worth noting that this all occurred at around the time either Susan Aernt or Russ Pitts were the editor, and as a Freelance contributor, these porn pieces should have been cleared by them first before being served up to a PG13 audience as news.

You may also find some other examples of the shitty behaviour aGG journalists are famous for in the comments sections of some of his articles on The Escapist at that time, because I seem to remember knowing he was a bit of a dick from some of his interaction with users long before he started shilling for SugarDVD.

Hey there /deepfreeze/,

Are you disappointed at the fact that in spite of all your best efforts, Feminism won the battle of Gamergate in the end and as a direct result of that, they have now become the go-to voice for all things gaming? Do you feel all your time was wasted sending out e-mails and making videos when you ended up worse off than how you started? Angry that Goddesses such as Anita Sarkeesian earns more in a day than you do in a whole year whilst doing significantly less, wallowing away your day in pools of stress as they go through life carefree and calm? Do you just sometimes wish that you could start all over again on a clean slate and fix all of your past mistakes? It's ok, we understand. That's why We at >>>/anita/ formally invite you to check our board out and see things from a fresh perspective! Do you:

>Feel disenfranchised and fed up with Gamergate on the whole?

>Find Feminist Goddesses such as Zoe Quinn, Anita Sarkeesian or Laci Green sexually attractive?

>Have a femdom fetish?

>Want to feel what its like to come to the pink side of the force?

Then we're well worth a moment of your time. We are currently the #2 Gamergate-related board on the whole site of 8ch, with over a third of the active userbase of GGHQ and a quickly rising post count of more than 1000 with daily updates. Even if you don't agree with our primarily radical Feminist stance towards topics such as video games and males as a whole, you are more than welcome to come along simply to masturbate to hot pictures of all your favorite Anti-GG chicks! Because we all know you felt something down there when you were introduced to Zoe's nudes for the first time.

Once again, that's >>>/anita/

Hope to see you there!

Would this be an appropriate place to discuss and work towards designing DeepFreeze -tan?

We do it in the /v/ threads often, but we can't be discussing tans whenever something is HAPPENING

I'd post it on the /gghq/, but ayyteam and other shitposters and shills lurk there too often, and I don't want this going anywhere outside of 8chan for the time being

Some anons got some designs going. There were more but I can't find them right now

Patrick Keplek has released an e-mail of someone he contacted as a quote without her consent on the whole Alison Rapp thing.

This is chronicled here:

He used it in this article:

This is his defense:

I believe this goes against the SPJ Code of ethics, in particular under the "Minimize Harm" section:

>Recognize that legal access to information differs from an ethical justification to publish or broadcast.

>Realize that private people have a greater right to control information about themselves than public figures and others who seek power, influence or attention. Weigh the consequences of publishing or broadcasting personal information.

And possibly goes against the section "Seek The Truth and Report it"

>Avoid undercover or other surreptitious methods of gathering information unless traditional, open methods will not yield information vital to the public.

I believe this should warrant at the very least a trivia entry.

3f55b1  No.696

Another thing to note is that Patrick quotes a comment from KiA to represent GG:

>Others were shaken in different ways. “This has always been THE most difficult part of being in GG for me,” wrote KiA poster Aurondarklord. “Finding that balance of being effective without becoming what we hate. In this case, to be fair, at least, unlike the SJWs, what we’re accusing Alison Rapp of is at least true and we have direct evidence of it. But WHY are we doing this? What has she done, specifically, that makes her deserve to be fired? Has she attacked us in some way? Breached an ethical obligation? Provably lied to the detriment of a person or a game? Done anything other than be an SJW and believe SJW things?”

But he fails to post the clarification the poster made on that comment, most likely maliciously:
