Jason Schreier was also involved in the Brad Wardell mess.

He gave people the impression that filed the counter-suit two years later to force a settlement.

https://archive.is/YgGKn

"The first lawsuit, filed by Alexandra Miseta against Stardock CEO Brad Wardell in December of 2010 . . .The second lawsuit, filed by Wardell against Miseta in August of 2012 . . ."

Only at the end of the article does he actually report that Wardell/Stardock filed the countersuit contemporaneously, and that the later filing date was just the date the case was removed to federal court.

Schreir is a weed.

He's said plenty of other dumb and terrible things as well, even admitting he would potentially commit unethical actions if pressured by his editor/superiors. I was there on Gamefaqs when he admitted to some pretty enlightening things about himself and what he might do in some situations, and also witnessed him shilling his work on there to the point one thread went like this

Schreier: Hi, did an article/preview on this thing. Was wondering if people could check it out and if anyone has any questions or comments feel free to post in the topic.

Gamefaqs User: Asks reasonable question

Schreier: Hi. The answer to your question is brought up in the article, so you can read it there.

Another Gamefaqs User: Asks another question

Schreier: I talked about that in the article already.

Few other people ask some things, get similar responses as Schreier gets a bit dodgy instead of just answering people's questions.

Gamefaqs users: Quit trying to get people to read your article and actually engage in the discussion here, or we'll report you for spam/advertising for shilling your stuff on the board.

Schreier: Well looks like my time here is up, don't think I'll be visiting here again. K-thanks-bye.

Dude was a tool, I just wish I had screencaps or some sort of archive of those threads handy to show.

Typo in the 4th paragraph of the Max Tempkin section. I think you want XOXO fest, not XOXO feast.

Ha! Ha! Time for Eurogamer!

"Editor's blog: I am sexist - Let's talk about how, why and what I'm doing about it."

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2014-06-18-editors-blog-i-am-sexist

>So I am writing this because I hope that if I stand up and admit that I am sexist, have always been sexist and will probably always have to rebel against this bit of programming in my head whenever it is triggered, one or two people will realise that they can relate to what I'm saying, and that will give them a bit of courage to try to do something about it as well."

Is there proof of the claim here: http://deepfreeze.it/journo.php?j=Arthur_Gies "with the apparent intent of generating hits through outrage."? A bunch of useful idiots are saying it undermines your entire site.

Where the hell are Sessler and Sterling's entries? They both explicitly stated that doxxing was acceptable when performed on the "right targets" at the same convention panel.

d969f9 No.151

Holy crap! These articles are amazing.

So much sourced facts, it puts hacks to shame.

I know this won't be a popular opinion, but in Sterling's case, he's probably somewhat right, depending how you read it: He's constantly being falsely DMCA reported on YouTube by indie devs who don't like his reviews and take anonymous stabs at him.

If you lie about someone to cause trouble for them, you no longer have a reasonable expectation of privacy.

And, that said, Sterling has never once (that I know of) incited threats or harassment.

Food for thought. Consider the context. Ignore the echo chamber.

I know there's an article written by the Stardock CEO where he talks about the lawsuit and accusations against him in detail.

Perhaps that could be linked to in his section of the story.

Can't believe I'm forced to post to 8chan for this, but this article (along with pretty much all the articles) clearly violate deepfreeze's stated goals of factual objectivity.

Some examples from this article: ".Brad Wardell has been extremely moderate in his stance "

"the anti-consumer “Gamers are dead” articles, "

" Temkin was basically treated as guilty by a lot of media,"

DarkFall is under hasty reviews, when the material you link to shows that the review took months to put out- hardly hasty. Similarly Football Manager 09's example COULDN'T have been caused by hastiness- if that was the goal, they would have repurposed the UK branch's review.

Think about things before you write them. I had high hopes for deepfreeze being actually good, compared to the gamergate wiki, but I'm really unimpressed.

Your post seems a bit demagogic. Could you provide some clearer examples of how the article should be rewritten? The reviews of Darkfall and Football Manager could be moved to the 'unreliable numbers' article for the sake of consistency.

I was under the impression Deepfreeze.it is a work in progress, but the owner is on a much deserved vacation. Most people are making easy bullet points to have for them when they return. There is a lot of work, criticizing it at this stage comes off as high tier faggotry or someone who is working against it. Consider what I wrote, and ask yourself considering all the emotions available to you, you chose salty.

I have to admit, for all these years I never really questioned the Dyack article. It just seemed to make sense with the horrible drop in quality from their Nintendo funded games, but problems due to Disney buying Marvel effected a LOT of stuff, so that seems plausible as well.

I won't automatically assume Dyack is amazing, but I'd love a real reporter to go in and get the information needed so I can know more. I'm not sure I misjudged the man, but if I did I want to know.

i just personally find it unfortunate that his two failed Kickstarters never gained any ground or publicity

Maybe 'Scandal Train' could be expanded to include coverage of the moral panic around 'Survival Island 3'? That would seem to be a perfect example of the phenomenon mentioned in the first paragraph of this section…
