Just because Digimon want to doesn't mean they can.

I figure Digimon have very different ways of reproducing than creatures of the Physical Dimension. Remember, the nature of their reality is fundamentally different.

I mean eggs are spawned whose baby somehow a reincarnation of something that already existed in their dimension.

Affection =/= sexual desire.

Just because a Digimon has romantic interest in a human or other Digimon doesn't mean they want to fuck.

I'd say that, if they spend enough time around humans, it could be entirely possible that they'd try sex out of curiosity. However, if Renamon says that Digimon have no genders, that would imply they have no reproductive parts either (I mean, if they did, since most don't wear pants I'm pretty sure it'd be easy enough to determine whether or not they had them). They'd basically have to create those parts out of data, and even so it'd probably be boring as hell because they, unlike humans, aren't biologically "programmed" to enjoy it because it's not necessary for them to reproduce that way.

I wouldn't think the continuity it was said in would matter, would it? Afaik, Digimon/Digiworld are the same through each season (well... the first 4, I know nothing beyond that point). There's the digital world, which has multiple layers as explained in Tamers, then various different dimensions of the "real world", so Even the Tamers and Adventure continuity should share the same Digiworld.

Regardless, that shouldn't negate the fact that it just wouldn't biologically make sense for creatures that don't reproduce sexually to have sexual urges. But this is kind of applying real world logic to a fictional world, and sometimes the writers for these things don't really pay attention to logic.

Digimon and them falling in love with humans, enough to even fuck still makes sense if you think of Renamon's gender comment referring to not having genders as in an asexual orientation rather than a biological asexuality which may or may not exist and is most likely, digimon species specific. Like obviously robots arent goinh to have genitals. Anyway my point is like with humans that are asexual they can still feel the want to fuck just not for breeding but emotional closeness. Basically demisexuality which in my opinion just makes complete sense since digimon are how would you put it, uncannt valley abominations?

That's my theory anyway.

I've always just thought of those things as the digital world advancing. since there's that silly time bullshit, but after Frontier I figured it was obvious the world probably has been fucked up and basically reset many times.

Didn't those Divermon or whatever in the Dark Ocean want to fuck Kari and make her the mother of some sort of super-race? I think they turned out to not be Divermon but they did work for Dagomon so they're probably digimon, right?

Dagomon looked similar to them and we know he's a digimon.
