So. Who's not looking forward to working ProjectFun this summer?
Anonymous 04/01/15 (Wed) 08:44:39 89978e No. 1407
Dude, show some respect. You signed up for the job.
Anonymous 04/01/15 (Wed) 09:27:25 abbe92 No. 1412
yeah man I'm so upset i gotta make more money than I would anyone else it's even worse that I don't get to work somewhere fun like a retail job, and instead have to work in something related to my field. *sigh*

so far you guys are on point. i mean i'll admit, i'm not quite looking forward to working with some of the more entitled kids, but, it beats bagging groceries.

>>1435 Sinking? Do tell, I was under the impression that it was the other way around, and that it was DigiPen that was the sinking ship, while ProjectFUN was the… um… corks plugging the holes keeping the ship afloat? I'd heard that ProjectFUN was the only thing DigiPen does that doesn't just pay the staff and bills (presumably because Claude pockets so much). I've felt like it feels like the school puts more effort into making ProjectFUN good than it does many of its degree programs.

>>1413 There's nothing wrong with bagging groceries. I actually refuse to work at ProjectFUN during the summer last year because I felt that working in the real world and dealing with people that could potentially hire me in the near future was a much better prospect than working in an environment where the only job prospects are either:
a. teacher projects where I'll end up getting dicked around
b. colleagues or PF kids that won't be able to hire me for another 5-10 years if at all.
And I was right. I was just brought on for an internship through a customer I met several months ago. That's one internship out of 5 that were actually offered to me during the course of my employment at the Bella Botega QFC. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Project Fun either but it really comes down to either dealing with immature kids all day that can't do anything for me or dealing with a mix of childish/mature adults that can potentially lead me to new opportunities.

>>1454 If you don't mind my asking, how did you get internship opportunities from working at QFC?
Also, about 95% of DigiPen students, especially those 20 and under, should really be required to work a shit job like QFC for at least one summer. For many students, ProjectFUN is their first job, and it just further shelters them from The Real World.

>>1441 As far as I know, ProjectFUN is a huge revenue stream for Digipen. Last year, management was subpar. This year was going better, but it didn't start yet, and if the rumors are true we just lost one of our best people.

There was a difference of oppinon on how class curriculums for project fun are going to be handled. Martin didn't do anything horrible, just a business decision based on the long term goals for the future of the program. No DigiDrama.
