f8a270 No.1403

So. Who's not looking forward to working ProjectFun this summer?

89978e No.1407

Dude, show some respect. You signed up for the job.

abbe92 No.1412

yeah man I'm so upset i gotta make more money than I would anyone else

it's even worse that I don't get to work somewhere fun like a retail job, and instead have to work in something related to my field. *sigh*

f8a270 No.1413

so far you guys are on point. i mean i'll admit, i'm not quite looking forward to working with some of the more entitled kids, but, it beats bagging groceries.

With the way things are going with that sinking ship, nobody should…

4ebcf8 No.1441

>>1435
Sinking? Do tell, I was under the impression that it was the other way around, and that it was DigiPen that was the sinking ship, while ProjectFUN was the… um… corks plugging the holes keeping the ship afloat? I'd heard that ProjectFUN was the only thing DigiPen does that doesn't just pay the staff and bills (presumably because Claude pockets so much). I've felt like it feels like the school puts more effort into making ProjectFUN good than it does many of its degree programs.

>>1413

There's nothing wrong with bagging groceries. I actually refuse to work at ProjectFUN during the summer last year because I felt that working in the real world and dealing with people that could potentially hire me in the near future was a much better prospect than working in an environment where the only job prospects are either:
a. teacher projects where I'll end up getting dicked around
b. colleagues or PF kids that won't be able to hire me for another 5-10 years if at all.

And I was right. I was just brought on for an internship through a customer I met several months ago. That's one internship out of 5 that were actually offered to me during the course of my employment at the Bella Botega QFC. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with Project Fun either but it really comes down to either dealing with immature kids all day that can't do anything for me or dealing with a mix of childish/mature adults that can potentially lead me to new opportunities.

4ebcf8 No.1455

>>1454
If you don't mind my asking, how did you get internship opportunities from working at QFC?

Also, about 95% of DigiPen students, especially those 20 and under, should really be required to work a shit job like QFC for at least one summer. For many students, ProjectFUN is their first job, and it just further shelters them from The Real World.

e3613d No.1458

>>1455
A job is a job is a job. There's nothing about ProjectFUN that is removed from the real world. It's a teaching job like any other.

e3613d No.1459

>>1441
As far as I know, ProjectFUN is a huge revenue stream for Digipen. Last year, management was subpar. This year was going better, but it didn't start yet, and if the rumors are true we just lost one of our best people.

e3613d No.1476

>>1459
they are.

4ebcf8 No.1477

Staff or student? Why is everyone talking so hush-hush about this? If it's not a student, it shouldn't be against the board rules to talk about who it is and why.

d3c18d No.1486

Martin? Is he associated with project fun?

89978e No.1487

>>1486
Not anymore apparently?

f8a270 No.1490

>>1477
staff. see >>1486 and >>1487 .

Whatever happened is being kept very quiet.

4ebcf8 No.1491

>>1490
This just makes me all the more curious.

abbe92 No.1492

He was fired. I either can't say or don't know more.

89978e No.1493

>>1492
Christ, there's no reason to be so vague. Just say if you can't say more or don't know. Don't make people play a damn guessing game over why you're not helpful.

f8a270 No.1706

>>1492
For real though what the hell happened to Martin

2077e6 No.1735

>>1706
He discovered the code to Claude's secret Lebaneser Scrooge safe where he keeps all of his money and thousands of expensive model airplanes and had to be taken care of

e3613d No.1766

>>1706
Honestly, it's probably for the best that there's so much confidentiality. If he got fired because of something horrible I would probably rather not know.

4a0c57 No.1798

There was a difference of oppinon on how class curriculums for project fun are going to be handled. Martin didn't do anything horrible, just a business decision based on the long term goals for the future of the program. No DigiDrama.

4ebcf8 No.1799

>>1798
k thanks, Claude, also those red squiggles under words mean you misspelled them

89978e No.1832

>>1799
DO NOT QUESTION THE SLPELLING OF THEMIGHTY CLAUDE
