Hello, I'm a Singaporean who is thinking of entering the Singapore branch of Digipen. After reading some of the posts here about the Washington branch, I got quite worried, so I was wondering if you guys knew anything about the Singaporean branch and whether it has the problems that the Washington branch has? Thanks a lot!

Not sure if it has problems but the majority of the Singaporean students are way more talented and humble about their abilities. I know quite a few Singaporean grads and they are awesome people.

It seems like the wealthiest singaporeans come to the US school instead of going to the singapore one because it has a better reputation.

BFA here. Singapore is known to produce really well polished art, overall. I can't speak for the other degrees and (if you want me to be frank and fuck you I'm going to be frank) I see them also making some really "over polished" shit that's less useful for modellers and more useful just as advertisement pieces. But still, the art degree seems fine I guess. Why else would they put 90% Singapore art on the fuckin walls here?

BSGD here. Just started reading through the threads and… from what I can tell, it… has a whole different set of problems. The lecturers (for the science side at least) here are pretty good in general, they know their stuff and they ain't uppity about it, you can usually have a good discussion with them in fact. The biggest problems you'll face is the fact that SIT (which is "in charge" of Digipen Singapore now) is trying to make it like a Singapore university. Which means, trying to reduce the amount of people failing (haha), trying to reduce the amount of hours we can work in school (HAHA), and trying to force us into getting a social life in SIT activities (HAHAHAHANOPE). How about sitting in for a class or two though? Might give you a good idea of whether its right for you. Just inform the admin side about which course you are interested in, and they would recommend modules to sit in for (If you are going for BAGD/BSGD/RTIS, i definitely recommend sitting in for a GAM presentation). Best of luck man. If you enter here, you'll either get out early, insane, or in a coffin.
