I will like to give some credit to some amazing teachers I have had over the last 2 years. (they might even read this board, who knows)
They make this degree worth it. I wish some teachers were more like them (Att. Portegys/Tony)
>Mead, is THE BEST. We all know that. Thanks to him I can consider myself somewhat of a decent/average programmer.
>Bede is Bede. Easy class and he teaches you all the content in an interesting and funny way with his lovely accent. One of the best Math teachers I will probably ever have.
>Hanson, he is the most comprehensive teacher I have met in my life. His late policies for cs200 and cs250 have been the best one's I have ever had on my life. Also, he gives you the .pdf with the solutions to every lab, which makes it incredibly easy to study for midterm/final, on top of giving you a nice practice example.
He is always interested in your personal growth and non-class topics when you speak with him after class, such as GAM projects, algorithms or graphics rendering techniques… etc. Yes, his classes might be a *little bit* boring, but his notes on the board and in-class examples are really helpful.
Is the only teacher that goes through the source code of every student and tells them how to optimize your code and gives you a fair grading always, with an option for re-submission. For me, is God Tier, makes Digipen a little bit more human.
>Solorzano is a great teacher. Personally, I don't like physics, and I'm not nice at them. Her lectures are interesting enough and easy to follow. Her homework are problems for the text book and some non-textbook problems that she always solves in class. Her quizzes are easy, lets you have a cheat-sheet and its between 3 people. Without putting too work, I'm passing her physics classes with a nice grade, and I actually learnt a couple of things which are really interesting from the phy field.
Her approach outside lectures is really nice. She will stay with you after class as much time as needed if you didn't understand something or you have a question about physics which was not covered in class at all. She loves physics and tries to make them enjoyable for the majority that we don't care about the class. I will take her again, despite what other people think.
I enjoyed other teachers such as Boerkoel and Volper, but I disagree with some of their methodologies.
Still, they know their material and are above average teachers (personal opinion ofc).
