I had to leave before it started because of health problems. What did it consist of?

It was largely about the changes they will be making to the BSGD and BAGD programs. They want to change BAGD to BA in Interactive Design, and will cut out a few of the filler classes to make space for more UX classes and a C++ for designers class. Most the other changes were pretty small, but the big thing is dropping about 9 credits from each program. There wasn't much of anything that actually had any change on current students.

>>922 This is exactly why I didn't attend. I don't give a flying fuck about fixing my degree program for future students, I want a written apology and about a third of my classes' worth of credit's value back in cash.
Life is short and DigiPen is expensive and time-consuming. I don't need to spend time and energy making it a better school for the students enrolling in four years or whatever.

Also is it literally going to be BAID, like, how Homestar Runner would pronounce the word "bad" ("bayid")? Christ.
Anonymous 03/14/15 (Sat) 05:34:57 55f38a No. 927
>>923 That's exactly why I want to sue DP. They fuck over everyone because the only thing care about are getting future students enrolled.
Like apartments jack up the rent for current owners, but give a million and one deals to new tenants, same with phone companies. It's all about the NEW people and who gives a fuck about the ones we have.
I need to call some legal service next week because I think DP is a legitimate scam. Except for RTIS, I hear that's the only degree that ISN'T fucked up.
Anonymous 03/14/15 (Sat) 06:09:01 c138bc No. 929
>>927 you should, throw in the various mental and physical health problems the school causes you could probably make a legitimate case.
You may not win, but it would definitely be a stain on the schools reputation.

>>929 The SVU episodes about colleges always have some girl get raped and when it's reported the detectives always find something insidious about the school. The school then tries to cover everything up put a gag order in place. Just have the authority snooping around would be enough to get DP to fix things or pay someone off.
Anonymous 03/14/15 (Sat) 17:05:16 55f38a No. 933
I feel that most students who attended DP 2010-212 or currently should get to have their loans forgiven because of how a cluster fuck DP was. It mishandled our money and education and left us with the bill.
Anonymous 03/14/15 (Sat) 17:30:44 c138bc No. 935
>>932 You do realize SVU is a goddam TV Show right? If Digipen were to pay someone off it would be the person suing to drop the case. (AKA Settling). But If the press smells blood DP would not be able to erase it no matter how much money they threw at people.

>>962 http://lawandorder.wikia.com/wiki/Girl_Dishonored The whole synopsis is a bit far off from what I'm talking about, but there are a few parts that remind me of DP.
>Olivia Benson and the detectives of the Special Victims Unit investigate the alleged gang rape of a sorority pledge on a college campus after the pledge tries to commit suicide as a result of the rape. Their attempts to piece together the events of the crime are thwarted by drunk students and conflicting accounts. As the detectives pursue the case, they unearth a widespread university culture of school administrators and students that look the other way instead of protecting their own.hmmm. sounds familiar minus the rape. Try really really hard to replace rape with whatever you feel DP is doing to you, in my case they rape students.
>They are arrested while the school Dean and chief security officer are arrested for accessory to rape for their roles in the cover-up with the help of statements from the school counselor and a security officer who both felt guilty as well with Lindsay's suicide.Hmm, a cover up? Nah…BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
http://lawandorder.wikia.com/wiki/Lessons_Learned >A professor's unusual encounter with Detective Amaro sends the SVU on an investigation into reports of sexual abuse at a prestigious private school. Stonewalled by the school board, Detective Benson enlists A.D.A. Barba and a retired teacher to help reveal a massive cover-up as more and more victims emerge.Again, sounds familiar. I bet you anything DP would stonewall investigators because there's a big cover up.
Finally
>While Amaro drops the charges as he doesn't believe they will stick, the victims finally get what they really want: an apology and acknowledgement by the school of the abuse.

Anonymous 03/16/15 (Mon) 06:32:28 af4ef0 No. 966
>>963 ok yes sure but the thing is, DigiPen is not actually committing any crimes. they are shitty and bad and dumb but they are not doing anything illegal, so this entire crime fantasy of yours has zero bearing on anything.
Anonymous 03/16/15 (Mon) 07:32:10 5bec74 No. 967
>>966 Maybe if we're offended enough, it IS a crime.
(And technically some of the professors are sharing students' grades publicly, which is illegal I believe, but not on the same degree as what was being implied with commentary about SVU)

>>966 >ok yes sure but the thing is, DigiPen is not actually committing any crimes. How do we know they're not?
We don't see it, but the anger and sadness DP has brought upon its students has to make one think that something is going behind the scenes that we don't know.
No one things it's fishy that Claude has all this plane shit going on in a "college" where students pay good money to earn an education. The money spent should be put back into the school, not on planes or taking space up for planes.

You're right though, this thread shouldn't of had to have as much explaining. It's like a joke you have to explain, at that point you may as well give up.
Anonymous 03/16/15 (Mon) 15:39:53 55f38a No. 973
>>967 >but not on the same degree as what was being implied with commentary about SVU The SVU thing was a large stretch if you read the whole thing. SO LET IT BE KNOWN TO ALL HE READ THIS THREAD FROM HERE ON OUT!
"I simply think DP is up to something more than providing an education. They have a hidden agenda and it's not in the students best interest."
I just wanted to point out the 2 SVU episodes involving school cover ups, they are based on actual events, though loosely, but these events do happen. It's not like it's entirely impossible for DP to be crooked.
Anonymous 03/16/15 (Mon) 15:51:05 af4ef0 No. 974
