Is Season 8 more or less kino as a result?

Clara and Ashildr adventures by Moffat

S11 by Chibbers

That new TARDIS Wiki design is kind of fuck ugly, but so was the old one.

Is this how we sounded to normies whenever we praised Moffat?

at least the old design didn't cause eye strain

bright text on a dark background is a meme that needs to die

We happened to be right though, that's the major difference here

anything with more Moff

It's what happens when Doctor Who does the same story over and over

More. Season 7 is nearly as perfect as you can get, although that's also probably down to Hulke writing half of it.

honestly me too

For real if they waste even a minute on explaining the mystery of the fucking Stenza or whatever I'll just stop watching and come back next week

The mustache on Cyberbrig gets me every time

> The Woman Who Fell to Earth never threatens to be a classic, but it never flirts with disaster either. It’s a solid, workmanlike episode. Indeed, what stands out most about it in contrast to the preceding six seasons is how straightforward and uninterested in being clever it is. Heck, the preceding ten seasons. This really isn’t invested in impressing the audience.

What did liz mean by "womanlike episode"? Why is she engaging in gender stereotypes?

Probably not. It's certainly more comfy, I'll give you that.

That's pretty accurate though, like people have said, although it seems like he's taking loads of risks, Chibbz is really not taking many risks at all

Why? Not enraged or anything, just curious.

Liz Shaw > Tim Shaw

Where does Liz keep her teeth trophies?

Sandifer has spent years immersed in every shit Doctor Who story ever televised and a few that weren't, it's no surprise if her personal bar has lowered a little bit.

Leaked Google documents

Agreed. You can imagine it in the mouth of, say, Peter Quill without too much difficulty, and employed to the exact same effect of making the villain funny while also trying to take the villain kind-of-seriously.

(which is to say the effect that makes a lot of MCU villains a bit shit)

Doomsday Clock IIRC? I know of it and its links but I've not heard it

Inferno is great but goes on for a bit too long as does Ambassadors. Ambassadors is unlike a vast vast majority of Who and it stands out from the crowd. The antagonist isn't a 2-dimensional villain and all of the villains are played extremely sympathetically, especially by John Abineri. The score is great, the acting is great and it's one of the only Who stories I can remember where A) the villain sees the error of his ways, B) the villain doesn't die horribly and C) there is a (supposedly) amicable end between the Alien Ambassador species and the humans.

All in all a classic story.

All MCU villains other than Ultron, planet guy from Guardians 2 and kinda Thannos are all shit

That's a good audio.

The Companion Chronicles were a good range.

I prefer Inferno by a bit, but pretty based, I feel like people don't talk about Ambassadors very much

workman like.

i liked yellow jacket from ant-man, he was cool.

plus ronin from guardians 1was pretty awesome.

I thought the one thing that was dead obvious about the Chibnall era so far is that Chibnall's the problem. Replacing the Doctor won't save us.

No, there can be only 1 Shamless star in Doctor Who and they've already filled the quota.

reee he would be kino no one can change my mind

He's not even the best Shameless "Frank" for the job.

Haven't seen the UK version so idk, but he doesn't seem like he has the right look

It's just like how Samuel Anderson showed more charisma in the behind-the-scenes footage than in any Series 8 scenes.

However, Ryan did laugh when Yaz pointed out that 13 needed new clothes. As a side note, Mandip was actually really emotive in that post-funeral scene. Actually, she's really emotive throughout–I suspect all Yaz needs to become a true favorite in a episode focused on her character.

Has a better look than the American one. Plus Frank in Shameless UK is brilliant.

i wonder if the drumming in the theme tune is only prominent in the end credits

the drums are nowhere near as noticeable when it plays in the episode

The version in the episode isn't very close to the version used in the titles. I'm just treating it as an incidental thing like you'd sometimes get in the JNT era.

that's interesting, didn't know it was a reference

the joke works anyway because it's a sort of boring human name, in the same way it'd be funny to name a cat ian

the one that played in the episode is kind of like the anime "opening titles didn't play in the special episode so an epic rendition gets played during the episode somewhere", I don't think it was the actual opening title theme, just a cheeky usage of the melody as part of the background music

If they ever remade or continued phantasm he'd make a great Tall Man.

ah yeah, I've seen pictures of that before

hmmm… only seen pictures of him as Frank, but I feel like if Macy was dressed in a raggedy kinda costume like something 2 or 12 would wear and acted like a nicer version of Frank he would be ultra kino

Something about the way Bradley Walsh played Graham makes him seem like an American Psycho-esque sociopath who has contempt for his grandson and is experienced at pretending to blend in with civilised society.

Why is Neo doing this to us? He knows we're here waiting for his piping hot, fresh take on the episode. We've been waiting a year for this shit to come out. And it's finally here and yet he stalls and stays away. Cruel and unusual punishment and I shan't have it.

Immigrant I'm worried that Yaz is just gonna be a casualty of having so many companions and will just remain a background character in most eps with nothing to really do. Shes too qt to waste. What kind of arc would you like to see for her that really fleshes her out

Or maybe her confidence leads her to start making decisions that cause unforeseen consequences, and her arc will involve learning how to rein herself in?

Having seen the ep twice, I think 13 suceeded in not being a Ten clone. Jodie added a bit more steel to her performance, and notably showed more…subtle empathy in the quiet moments.

Yes. Lie of the Land was a terrible squandering of potential.

>subtle empathy in the quiet moments.

yeah I agree with this, i jodie lends her self much better to these kinds of moments because she's typically a dramatic actor rather than a comedic one.

>he really did "just make it"

and that's a good thing - Sandy

Also, most of the first half of Series 10 was a bit lackluster, though each had good moments. Thin Ice is underrated specifically, as a spiritual sequel to Kill the Moon.

Concerning how rarely I call eps bad, that's because rarely are Who eps actually fully bad. Even when Who eps aren't the best, they are usually trying to do something interesting (i.e. Forest Of The Night's focus on apocalyptic feelings and a botched attempt on focusing on how mentally ill people are sometimes ignored and just medicated instead of being understood; Knock Knock's Oedipal weirdness and themes of trauma affecting people as underlying concept of "haunted house"). The closest thing to a truly mediocre ep is Curse Of The Black Spot, which isn't bad, but it is Who-by-numbers. But it's actually rare to get a truly Who-by-numbers story.

Hard to say without seeing more of 13's personality. I reckon that we won't really know her full persona until Ghost Monument.

Yep. I suspect 13 won't be as outwardly comedic as Eleven or Ten was, though she'll still have a zaniness to her.

Was it good for you Immigrant

I'm honestly surprised you haven't tried bullying me into watching it yet :^)

…Are you Edge?

I really liked Graham's character complexity. Both in how he said "I should have died instead", and how his meanness to Ryan actually added to that point–Graham really did seem like a bit of a jerk, but he seems to be aware of it. That'll give him a bit of a chance for growth. Also liked how he seems to be the "Tegan/Turlough" companion type–the companion that would prefer not to be travelling. We haven't really gotten that in a while (Nardole was kind of like that, but mostly due to wanting to guard the vault.)

(Also, I really do think Yasmin's desire to adventure and confident nature will make her a fan favorite, if an ep can just focus on her and give her depth. Mandip's got the acting chops for it.)

Hey man I'm glad you're enjoying it.

I was memeing about looking forward to The Ghost Monument but now I'm actually looking forward to it. Has anyone got a DWE for this?

Bit of a tangent, but I always thought the same about Jake Lloyd. On the DVD for The Phantom Menace they show screen test footage of various little kids for Anakin and in that video you instantly see why they cast Jake for the part, but then he brings 0% of that performance to the actual set. I don't get why some actors get that way.

Actually, I do have a theory about why, but I don't really know about screen acting to be sure. I just remember the bit from Darkplace where Richard-Ayoade-as-Dean-Learner explains his terrible performance of Dean-Learner-as-Thornton-Reed by gesturing at the camera and saying "That camera's like a bloody magnifying glass." I think a lot of actors get that in their head and it never goes away.

For Samuel Anderson, I think it was that the role of Danny wasn't a charismatic role–Danny was a withdrawn PTSD-inflicted army man. Perhaps Samuel intentionally avoided showing emotion in his performance, since Danny wasn't supposed to be one to show his feelings.

It's because it's got no clear identity so it doesn't stick out, despite being visually explosive. Same goes for the theme.

It's no wonder you guys got kicked off of halfchan

A thought, now that I've listened back:

It's mentioned that most members of the Torchwood team are shafted in most episodes. Probably interesting to note, then, that imo the episode where each member is most well-handled and in-character (Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang) was a Chibnall ep, proving that he can do it.

listening to it now i think music is a bit too loud, maybe its just me but it distracts from morphs beautiful voice

Is that popcorn?

Not quite Sunday night popcorn, but popcorn nonetheless.

Nice touch👍

neo are u gonna give up next week because the podracing episode is so shit?

Ahgr, I'm going to have to confess something, something honestly really fucking embarrassing.

Look, I was wrong. I've even misrepresented my views a bit lately to try and save face. I thought the new Doctor Who out this week was gonna be absolute shit, I thought that for months and months and lord knows I let other people know it.

But then when I actually sat down and got through it…fucking hell, it worked, against all odds it fucking worked. It was amazing, I was enthralled the whole time. The multiple companions had amazing chemistry and depth. The villain (who I'd complained about looking cheesy) was super creative and intimidating. The performances were all amazing. I have so much egg on my face.

I fucked up. The new Doctor Who that came out this week was incredible and I was an idiot to ever doubt it. Yes, I couldn't have been happier with Ravenous 2.

teasers for ghost monument

1. The first teaser is that there is no teaser.

2. Purple sunlight reflected on the surface of a wavy pond – – but in 3D.

3. Callufrax Minor, Jahoo, Shallacatop, Woman Wept, Pyrovillia, Adipose 3, the moon of Poosh, Clom, Griffoth . . . Desolation.

4. Antiques Roadshow and Call of Duty both get a shout-out.

5. “You can be honest with me: are we going to die?”

6. “Oh! By the way, welcome to what I presume is your first alien planet! Don’t touch anything.”

7. Audrey Hepburn or Pythagoras

8. The admonition from “The Waters of Mars” gets repeated.

9. The titular ghost monument is ***y.

10. Venusian aikido!

the planet is lost? interesting

No. 10 is interesting in the context of what the attention-seeking faggots were talking about in their podcast.

RIP cold openings? Also, wasn't #6 already in the next time trailer?

10/10/2018? So….0.00049554013? Or 1/2018?

I can't tell what country you're from, so it could be 10/10, but if you were american it would be 10/10.

I can't wait for either/both Angstrom and Epzo to get killed and watch /who/ shit themselves

1 - No cold openings? Good.

2 - Titles? Nice.

3 - Lost planets?

4 - Calling that Graham's gonna call out the first one, and Ryan will call out the second one

5 and 6 - So much of the dialogue teasers we've had so far have first draft written all over them. None of them seem to have any refinement to them.

7 - Destiny numbers.

8 - What did they mean by this?

9 - Tiny?

10 - GOAT

9 is probably "sexy".

The titular ghost monument is pussy.

No it's Epzy

Haven't actually listened yet

Fair enough. What's your opinion on BF making the Ravenous look like clowns?

@Neo I heard you love The Last Jedi because you're an intellectual, and you might have mentioned this before but idk I haven't been on here for ages, but I remember you talking about how you like KOTOR II in the past and would you agree with me that TLJ is just a slightly worse retelling of the same themes presented in KOTOR II?

Planning on having rotating/round-up casts? It would be good to get a variety if /who/re perspectives

Also, either way, you should introduce yourselves at the start of the podcast, so we know who all the voices are

>because you're an intellectual

You gotta be smart to understand TLJ, sorry brainlet

100%, the next ep is gonna have a slight variation and then from ep3 onwards looking to have more fundamental shakeups.

The lack of introductions was semi-intentional; we wanted it to just feel like it was naturalistically fading into a conversation and (perhaps paradoxically) keep it as non identity-circlejerky as it could be, the less pretence the better. After all…who cares?

You've been misled on some of my opinions I'm afraid. No, I wouldn't personally agree TLJ is really addressing the same themes as KOTOR II to be honest, though I understand were you'd be coming from with that.

>hi guys and welcome to the /who/ podcast

"Anonymity" in a podcast where all contributors are credited with their trips is too little, too late. And, honestly, the ideal outcome would still be throwing out the baby with the bathwater.

bby if you ever need me for a voice I'm here

Technically only one of the speakers is a trip.

I was the only trip in that podcast, and I still think there's a lot of merit in just instantly discussing the episode and making points right away, instead of jerking ourselves off about who we are.

Stay tuned, I think after two more proof of concept eps it'll make sense to shake up casts more, and also the actual content of episodes (which we mostly have no idea on) will help dictate who'd be most relevant to hear from probably.

Ah, OK, do you not actually like it then?

You can always DM me on Twitter if you want my voice.

Maybe when the series is done you can do monthly big finish podcasts

Here are some statements about the upcoming episode, The Ghost Monument. half are lies. half are true. Which of these statements do you think are true? Vote w/ reactions! :)

:one: BBC Wales Graphics made the new intro (based on a fan design).

:two: NeonVisual made the new intro.

:three: Racial Cleansing is referenced

:four: The episode ends on a cliffhanger as The Doctor and co land near a 50s bus station

:five: The planet is out of orbit

:six: The planet was one of those taken by the Daleks in Stolen Earth (note: It's a very minor/off-handed reference so the episode still acts very standalone).

:seven: The cliffhanger is resolved in the most obvious way

:eight: ."What do we do?" "Shall we just follow her?"

:nine: An entire planet and they crash-land literally at the exact same fucking passage in the exact same direction? Seems legit.

:keycap_ten: The Doctor has to make a horrible choice, thematically repeating The Beast Below.

4 is probably true, as Ep 3 is probably Rosa Parks ep.

10 might be true.

What about it makes you love it? I hated it.

No, I loved it too.

That was the iNews review, not me, although yeah, she gets very little attention.

based anon

Well I hated TFA so I love the subversion of it and how it shows all of JJ's bullshit mystery boxes don't matter at all (which they don't), and despite what normies will have you believe Luke's character arc here makes perfect sense and I loved everything they did with him. And of course Kylo was great as always, all in all a 9.5/10 for me, the only dumb things were Rose sacrificing herself (or not?) at the end and Holdo being dumb

oh right. I guess I got mixed up there. shame though

Anonymous blocks of text are one thing, but following a conversation with three anonymous men of similar age, tone, cadence, and vocabulary is entirely different. Actually helps but it only does so much.

They're all true.

The architect getting Jesse Jamesed was good, and I loved the beautiful, sick contrast between "I'll do anything to live up to his name," and "s'all good, man." I feel like I know exactly what's going to happen with Lalo, though, he feels predictable to a somewhat surprising degee, and not in a tragic way like Jimmy or Walt. He feels like a fan fiction character, the Fun Salamanca, and he gets to be the origin of the bell and the reason Nacho's gone and all this. Also, going back a couple episodes, I liked the scene where she Godfathers Jimmy out of her office, it was heavy handed but I love that every time it comes up in something, they did it at the end of Luke Cage season 2 as well.

I don’t wanna listen to Neo’s voice

Ewwwwww, I'd love to be on the show but if I ran the risk of running into Nilso…

Maybe getting confused with another character who does come out.

Is it weird that I'm more hyped for Shit Trips 3 than I am for the rest of S11

That was a good one.

Team up Neo, Nilso and Cats for the Rosa Parks ep review. It'll be comedy kino.

Not really. Shit Trips 3 will probably be majority Thirteen stories (like ST1 and ST2 had a lot of 12 stories), so I'll be expecting a bunch of fun takes on the companions. Plus, the expected 13/Yaz slash fic(s).

Mind giving us a hint who?

When do you think submissions for ST will open btw

> Plus, the expected 13/Yaz slash fic(s).

You think 13 is dominant or submissive? Because my mind immediately goes to the handcuffs, and I'm not sure how she'd handle them.

Yaz seems like a bit of a switch. She wants more authority, sure, but she also craves being subjugated. It could instead be read that she craves *responsibility*, which is very easily spun into a submissive reading.

Fuck that, I'm more hyped for more episodes of Who Cares than the rest of series 11

It's whatever /who/ decides, but I would guess sometime after Series 11 ends, maybe even after the Christmas Special. By that time, we'll have a read on 13 and the companions.

"I'm not usually this submissive, Doctor, but when it's ya…"

(Yaz is headstrong, but the "hero-worship" being referenced in the marketing means that she's probably more willing to follow 13's lead. )

Either one I suppose, although there's only a few weeks in between the finale and Christmas so it won't make a big difference

I'd say better than even odds she gets either killed by the end of the show or else comes back to her job a completely changed woman and quits/becomes a DCI in a week.

Super hype, I subscribed. We need Cats on that show. And Nilso. In fact, fuck it, we need >>113106

they're the third and fourth ones there are you blind

White man being a pawn of an alien.

Neo, Cats, and Judy would be Kino.

It's funny that they say the "everything changes" monologue was out of place, because it felt like a good "Doctor tries to give villain a chance" scene.

A heritage-theme-park portrayal of the bus protest is happening and the Doctor and pals go to visit it, but there are mischievous aliens knocking about who risk altering the course of history and creating a twisted version of events. The heroes manage to save the day without messing up time but, right at the end, they end up having a brief interaction with Rosa Parks who says something inspirational to them. Roll credits.

There's gonna be a scene where the alien acts condescending and derogatory towards the white man, who will play along like it's fine and he doesn't mind, and then later he'll be furious and indignant and tell the Doctor the alien treated him like a ni–

wait… shit… are they going to use the N-word on Doctor Who? Is that going to happen?

Skelly, Nilso, Gig, Cats. For the Rosa episode.

Makes the charts completely unusable. Also, the old TARDIS roundels were way better in the header. Wtf BBC?

desu I enjoyed the stuff with Luke/Rey/Kylo/Snoke, but I hated everything else (even though I appreciate the commentary Johnson was trying to pull with the Poe/Holdo conflict and Benicio del Toro's character). It's like it was two movies.

Regardless of whether the haters were right or just Russian twitterbots and/or misogynists, it's certainly remarkable how much TLJ alienated the core audience and killed the hype for the franchise (cf Solo's box office).

They're in order of first appearance in Big Finish. If it was in the Doctor's chronological order, Gemma and Samson would also need to be before Charley. Either way it verges me that Fitz didn't make the cut but fucking Emma and Louise are on there.

Looking forward to Epzode 2!

Prob. won't go full-on N word, but I can see them either saying 'Negro', or, like, have a villainous character get as far 'dirty ni-' before being cut off, probably by the Doctor.

In an emotional episode fraught with historical accuracy, the Doctor and Rosa team up to assassinate MLKJ for his misogyny.

Plebs, by definition, don't support Angstrom. Now, Epzo fans on the other hand…

It would be great if they got Chris Noth to say it. I'm fairly confident he's playing the governor of Alabama in that episode.

Hey N8 you should be in an episode.

In The Writer's Tale, Davies also reveals that during his rewriting of the script he entertained himself by inserting as many references to Christie novels as possible. He originally inserted a reference to Ten Little N*ggers (also known as Ten Little Indians and And Then There Were None) before deciding it was "too risky" to keep in:

>Donna: It's like "Ten Little" -

>The Doctor: Niggles aside, we'd better look in the library.

Yikes. I laughed, but I'm not proud of the fact I laughed. Yeah… can definitely see why he removed that.

reminder that books

When are the 13th Doctor books coming out?

aw the tardis core page for the n word has been removed

Honestly though if they're trying to be accurate they should include it but it obviously would be a bit risky

I mean yeah it's like two movies, most of Empire is like two movies as well. And honestly I just find it hilarious how normie fans got pissed off at TLJ. Also Solo isn't really very bad at all, it's not kino but it's just a fun movie

The Good Doctor comes out November 27.

Btw James Wylder aka arcbeetle, a spinoff author friend who we may all see more from in the future, has made one of his ebooks free for his birthday today.

Thank you! Doubt Neo would let me, after those TLJ comments.

Too true.

James Wylder aka arcbeetle is wonderful.

Reminder that they've already used the word "negro" in Who-related TV

buy it and review it

What in? Torchwood?

No, SJA.

Of all the possible places for it to turn it, it was in Sarah Jane Adventures. Literal Nazi called Clyde a negro.

Also used nigger

Clyde time traveled and met Nazis

lmao I was expecting it to be in some VNA or some shit not the literal children's show spin off

Reminder Hartnell used the word Negro IRL

Listened to this last night. Entertaining but found the enemy in this one to be a tad over the top. Actually found it a bit reminiscent of Toby in the Impossible Planet when he's possessed, to the point where I thought it was the same actor.

And that's surprising how? During the time he lived that's just what they were called I mean he probably said the full n word irl too but whatever

wait what there's no way they said the n word in that episode what

hell, even i say the full n word

Looking at that book's summary:

>When Laurence Waters arrives at his rural hospital posting in a former homeland of the new South Africa, Frank, a fellow doctor there, is instantly suspicious. Laurence is everything Frank is not - young, optimistic, and full of new schemes. The two become uneasy friends, while the rest of the meagre staff in the deserted hospital view Laurence with a mixture of awe and mistrust.

>The tired, ghostly town beyond the hospital is also coping with new arrivals, and the return of old faces. The Brigadier, a self-fashioned dictator from apartheid days, is rumoured to be still alive. And down at Mama's Place, the town's only watering hole, a group of soldiers have moved in with their malign commandant, a man Frank has met before and is keen to avoid for his own dark reasons. Laurence wants to help - but in a world where the past is demanding restitution from the present, his ill-starred idealism cannot last.

>The Brigadier, a self-fashioned dictator from apartheid days, is rumoured to be still alive.

Wait, this might be an Unbound Who book after all!

they used this and >>113168 in one of the eighth doctor adventure novels

Made You Look is a fun story. Planning to relisten on Halloween.

Listen there's nothing wrong with the n word, it's just a word, and we shouldn't give it so much power. So I'll say it right now. nilso

Not gone, just moved.

I liked this one. Probably the most effective in terms of horror of Adams' monthlies.

I was waiting for somebody to make that joke

It was used in the VNAs as well though. Human Nature used it, although it was removed in the recent reprint.

Would make a nice double bill with Deadbeat Escape.

to where?

>1. The first teaser is that there is no teaser.

I guess it's going to jump straight into the title sequence. I almost forgot we still haven't seen it yet. How much would you bet they drop having the Doctor's face in the titles? Probably too newbie-hostile for Chibs' tastes.

we wont even see the tardis in the title sequence, just howlaround. Also first time without a cold open since Tennant's era

I dunno, there's a chance they might keep the face. Makes it look more friendly.

That is exactly what I was thinking.

>"well they didn't do it in the RTD era and that era was popular!"

I gave the narrated version a listen to about eight years ago. and the section is changed slightly. I'm paraphrasing here, so it's probably not 100% correct but it's how I remember it going.

KING: Eenie, meenie, minie, moe. Catch a ni…

NARRATOR (Peter Purves): The King spins around while trying to find a chair to sit in.

My bet is no face but i'll be happy to be surprised.

What Tennant episode had a cold open? Last I can remember was Rose.

Maybe, but I doubt that's how Chibnall and co are thinking. Probably more >>113199

Yeah I though that would have been the case. Specially for an audio

Imagine if we don't get a face shot but a full body shot, Pertwee style?

Yeah, I guess DOTD is kind of a special case though with them doing the original title sequence but it's still the most recent one and that's 5 years ago.

The cold opening structure is legitimately an interesting quirk of how NuWho has evolved differently to Classic. If they decided to do away with it completely I can't say I'd complain, because (especially with Moffat's penchant for doing long and flashy ones) they've started to have a bit of a weird effect on how stories are structured.

Enough. The goats have been called.

the "scare" and the fading to theme makes it better I am sure

>why did Grace fight the Tangly creature after Tzen-sha died?

Because the tentacley creature was attacking the crane that her grandson was on, and she was too focused on dealing with that creature to notice that 13 defeated Tzen-sha.

goat episode incoming

also she doesnt fuckin know the creature's not gonna murder anyone regardless

i wonder where cold opens started? i always think of the x-files in the way they set up mysteries

We shouldn't give it such power, and yet it has that power.

One of my friends once told me that he liked me and I could use the word if I wanted. He's autistic, so I figure that's why he felt that was a reasonable thing to say. Because it's not really a word I want to use anyway, so it's not like I was waiting for the opportunity to drop n-bombs the moment he gave the green light. And it's also not really only a temporary pass issued by and recognized by only one black person at a time anyway, it's not like I could go to another black guy's house and use the n-word and say, "Oh no, it's cool, my friend said it was okay."

The only time I feel comfortable using it is when it's the only way my partner can climax.

ah thx

I think the problem with some of the more elaborate once is that once the titles come it feels like you're already in the middle of the story and takes you out of it a bit. I think the whole point of the teaser / cold open gets lost there.

Is this pasta?

Supposedly it was trying to knock down the crane.

As the creature is CGI and the crane was real, obviously there wasn't much they could do to communicate that to us visually.

Exactly. The tentacley creature is still attacking the crane, up till Grace destroys it. So it makes sense that she attacks it.

Disabling the crane that Yaz and Ryan are using. That's why the crane suddenly jams while Yaz is using it, creating a huge gap between 13's level and Carl's.

Wasn't just about all episodes secretely co-written by the head writer with RTD and Moff cause "they were shit" I think Moff said?

Judy, this isn't going to work.

We need to meme Steven Hall as showrunner immediately

You realize this is Doctor Who?

I can't be part of it

I am mute

Both did colossal amount of rewrites, that's true. In writer's tale RTD said that half of Cornell's twoparter is rewritten by him.

I can just feel my mind slipping away thinking about this

Whatever happened to Wanderer? Why didn't he immigrate to 8chan?

He is in custody

RTD co-wrote and often re-wrote every episode except for those by Moffat, Moffat would co-write frequently and went uncredited until the last series, but generally speaking Moffat had less time or patience to re-write than RTD did.

At the end of the day it's still completely frustrating and unsatisfying to have her die doing something she didn't need to do

Using only what we know from the new plot summary and cast listing as a basis - including the bits about a plot to change history, and MLK appearing somewhere - can you come up with ANY premise for Rosa that isn't fundamentally pretty stupid?

I'm just not creative enough and I fear no one is. I'm happy to be surprised though.

Crashed aliens accidentally create a new timeline where events happen differently, Rosa Parks isn't famous, MLK never gets assassinated, 9/11 happened in november instead…. The gang fixes it by oppressing Rosa Parks, killing MLK at the right time, and doing 9/11 themselves

if they showed the fact that she planned the bus riot and chose a crowded line so she knew driver would react

>oppressing Rosa Parks, killing MLK at the right time, and doing 9/11 themselves

sounds kino

I legitimately can't even fathom how DW could insert itself there, which is why it maybe the episode i'm looking forward to the most. It's just so audacious.

Yeah, that's the whole point of a protest

but the narrative is that she was in a normal day and have a "I had enough" moment

Prediction: The Doctor tells the bus driver that for over a hundred years, people will vilify him, but after that, people will realise that his actions, though sometimes wrong, were the right thing to do and they will continue his work.
