It's not realistic. I've met only a handful of gays in my entire life and yet they're in every programme even when when it would not make sense.

Yeah, it's definitely my racism that made muslims set up their own communities separate from white people

Burden of justifying mass immigration is on the supporters of mass immigration. Countries worked fine without immigrants, so the burden is on you to justify why they are so great, not on us.

centrist cuck. whitey's time is over

Wanting to limit immigration entirely isn't even close to blaming a skin colour, most immigration to the UK is white people and that should be limited all the same

Are you concerned about white people not integrating to british culture?

Immigration increases the work force size faster than birthrates so it makes workers more competitive and ultimately increases the quality of the workers. It's just free market capitalism

Infinite growth is unsustainable.

Of course, sooner take a mauri or aboriginal who lives in a similar culture to our own than take a white person from some place like Russia

How has the UK fucked up the negotiations so hard? Do they just have incompetent and unassertive people handling the negotiations, or does the UK have nothing to leverage with - giving the EU complete authority to dictate what they want?

Blackpill: Chibnall knows the historical inaccuracy of yas claiming people like rosa fought to allow her to be a police officer in the UK. He just doesn't care, because he's more interested in appealing to american audiences for which that sentiment is true.

It was slated for Boris Johnson to be PM but he got backstabbed by Davis at the last minute, the idea was that Theresa may would be unifying, she was a darling of brexiteers for a while since her Lancaster house speech parroted basically every major leave talking point but since then has failed to follow her own red lines, because of things such as the Irish border and the NI customs union (which are separate issues)

Theres only a few outcomes from now

>the tories JUST push through the current brexit deal, which brexiteers hate because it';s not really brexit, and remainers hate because it's called brexit. This can ONLY be done with labour votes, which is seen as a complete betrayal by many hardcore constitutional tories, passing things with opposition votes is very naughty to them.

>no deal happens because everyone keeps dragging their feet until the deadline, without a doubt will cause major division, shitty short term, probably pretty safe medium term and hard to tell long tem as it's based on whatever trade deal eventually gets made

>canada deal: seems like the only """"compromise"""", if done right would be the safest outcome but could also see the entire island of Ireland getting fucked raw.

Two episodes of aired of this show. Treating the entirety of Doctor Who is a legacy move that makes little sense actually in context. What meaningful connection does this show have with the three years, or the four before that, or the four before that? Or the show as it was in 1985? Or 1972? Or 1968? Treating Doctor Who as some cohesive umbrella programme that everyone should feel unwavering brand loyalty to because they enjoyed some iterations of it is woeful consumerism at best.

It's for the best and the key reason the show can even exist this long; that it isn't all the same show but many shows riffing on roughly the same premise/title character. The thought of someone genuinely being able to watch every episode of Classic Who and New Who and genuinely love the totality of them all is alarming, imo. Hartnell's era alone is not the same thing when it ended as when it started, acting like people owe some kind of love to Jodie's era already because of the half century of different shows preceding it is certainly the kind of character fetishism and brand loyalty I bet Chibnall would like to engender but not really something conductive to anything else.

Jodie said: “I am 36 and I have a bit of a career but I have a lot to go as well and if there is any advice I could give anyone in this climate it is ‘don’t be an a***hole".

“Chris Chibnall gave me this extraordinary role of Beth Latimer in Broadchurch, which was a wonderful series to be part of, and it was five years of my life".

“Now had I been an absolute kn**head on that job, rude to people, not a team player and not an ensemble member, my life would not have been the same because Chris would never have wanted to work with me again".

Straight-talking Jodie, from Skelmanthorpe, near Huddersfield, West Yorks, said: “I swear a lot and so the pressure is not dropping my natural vocabulary into every interview and realising I am going to be kicked out.”

I don’t really have much grounding to moan about Whittaker when she really is being given near-nothing to work with – just consider, for a moment, how many nuances Twelve, Eleven, and Nine had by their respective second episodes, versus how inert Thirteen’s character still is as of Monument – but I’d be lying if I said she’s doing much to rescue the scripts with interesting and imaginative choices. The general lack of vision as to who Thirteen is, what Doctor Who is, and what a story is seems to have permeated through to the actors.

File: c72e51ed08921be⋯.mp4 (2.71 MB, 1280x640, 2:1, big locked door.mp4)

Let's forget about the whole door situation for a minute and focus on how excessively dramatic jodie is when raising the sonic, and how there's an awkward delay on when the sonic sound actually starts compared to when it should have based on her dramatic arm movement

She can't help that the scripts are giving her next to nothing to work with but goddammit she is an ACTOR, it is her job to transcend that. Plenty of Doctor actors have brute forced their way through thin scripts to deliver some kind of interesting performance, hell, near the entirety of Nightmare in Silver's final plot was Gaiman giving up and just trusting Matt to go insane. Maybe it's unfair of me to keep coming back to The End of the World/The Beast Below/Into the Dalek and all the ways the Doctor actors had begun modulating and stretching their performances there, as those scripts actually were giving them plenty to go on, but then I think of all the endless Doctor Who scripts with nothing to go on that plenty Doctor actors still managed to push interesting performances through, and I verge. Jodie doesn't deserve to be patronised, she is a good actress and should know what she's doing, that's precisely why I'm disappointmed in her performance, and I hate what I suspect is a slightly performative overcongratulation of her around the media and whatnot, though I understand it's probably necessary in a sense given the radical nature of her casting at all. But one can't help but start to think of other British actresses that wouldn't have still been stalling two episodes in…

It's particularly frustrating to me because her performance in Broadchurch was one of my favourites of that series. This conflation in Doctor Who between both her and Chibnall underserving us is really disappointing.

This week is the first test to see what Doctor Who looks like under the new normal, when not written by someone we already know to be a hack fraud

Perhaps jodie will finally get some material to work with

Perhaps any of them will, frankly. Ryan and Yas having to react to being the victim of extreme prejudice should be a good chance for them to show off what they're capable of as actors.

Compare this with population sizes before attempting to make an argument

i agree completely, imagine if we got one of the other actresses that were being discussed before Jodie was announced, any of them would have brought something unique that I just don't feel like Jodie has yet, im still really set on the Olivia Coleman doctor, for example. it just feels like she's more passionate about being cast as the doctor than she is actually getting to BE the doctor.

But that isn't wrong. People like Rosa Parks, on both sides of the pond, fought racism.

yeah and their fight was opposed by the police

She's currently playing a more emotionally vulnerable Doctor, almost like a cross of 8 and 5. She's still a good Doctor, but not as showy as the others. The quiet moments are some of her best.

>needed to allow POC to be allowed into certain jobs in the UK.

That's being far too specific. It doesn't have to be law to be a barrier–it can just be unexamined attitudes and informal distaste for seeing non-white people, plus structural biases (people hire people most like them or that they know well, so white people hire more white people, even if they have no specific dislike for black people)

I feel /who/rious, /who/rious, got a chance to start again

The sentiment of society being improved by people standing up to racism everywhere is valid, but yas did make a specific claim.

The UK doesn't have the same history of relentless discrimination that the US does. It's certainly true that people had (and have) personal racist attitudes and biases independent of the law which come into effect when hiring people, but historical documents do show cases of POC in positions of authority in the UK over 200 years ago. Yas used the absolute "can be" rather than "more likely to be", which is more accurate given that the theoretical possibility always existed, but chances for her have increased over time as biases have decreased.

It's semantics, but it still results in a statement that misrepresents the situation.

ausboomers represent

Fair. I have more issues with the "i get stopped more than my white mates" statement from Ryan, because I get the feeling that "black people and policemen having antagonistic relationship" thing is more of an American thing. However, Yaz's statement about being disrespected due to being Muslim and her heritage feels distinctly like UK's brand of bigotry, which is why I like that part of the scene.

Fuck this sucks, this episode will probably be a legendary watch with /who/res too

What time does the stream happen, is it live or immediately afterwards once a torrent is up?

Imagine the stream is Glorious really does play in Rosa

How does that work, does someone stream it and add the stream to cytube?

Last time TheOncomingStorm managed to add some kind of VK stream that pulled live from the BBC

By using this flag, I am impersonating Skelly.

Yas's line about being called racial slurs is definitely the most real feeling. It's a shame the sentence is constructed in such a clunky way that I can't even tell the meaning of the sentence when reading the transcript.

>I get called a "Paki" when I am sorting out a domestic or a "terrorist" on the way home from the mosque

>I get called a "Paki" when I am sorting out a domestic or a "terrorist on the way home from the mosque"

Hopefully the way Mandip delivers the line makes it clear.

Please get a screencap so I can experience the glorious stream I'm missing vicariously

Absolutely based

The moment is coming

I thought it was the former too, but other anons didn't think yas would go to a mosque because they would have made a bigger deal about "first muslim companion" in promotional material

Who here honestly likes 13's portrayal so far?

Actually, either way gets the meaning across. Either she's called "terrorist" when coming home from an actual mosque, or she's assumed to be a terrorist who obviously has to be Muslim, because of her skin color. The first one is much less clunky, but either one works.

I suspect the line reading will make it sound better in-context.

Ahhhh I getcha, that's interesting. Will be interesting to see how the line is said, yeah.

>I heard you die twice, once when they bury you in the grave

>And the second time is the last time that somebody mentions your name

>So when I leave here on this earth, did I take more than I gave?

>Did I look out for the people or did I do it all for fame?

oh god it probably is going to be glorious

>I made it through the darkest part of the night

>And now I see the sunrise

oh dear

this and the wording would imply that random people somehow knew she was on the way back from the mosque, i think she is being referred to as "a muslim on their way home from the mosque"

>I loved the scene. The acting is extraordinary and that is what I think has powered this series. I’m also proud of a line – I’m very rarely proud of anything I write – but I’m proud of the line ‘Do you think I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?’ because I got obsessed when I started to write this that Cybermen have no emotion, so it starts with Clara unable to find a way to say I love you and ends with Danny unable to find a way to say I love you, there are two phone calls that book-end it, and in the middle, the cracked old Caledonian gets it exactly right, he says I love you perfectly. […]

>He’s surprised he has to say it. That’s the truth about him, he says lots of horrible things all the time, that’s because he assumes all the other stuff is taken for granted and it’s only in that moment Clara realises just how much he’s assuming is taken for granted, absolute monomaniacal devotion to her. He absolutely loves her.

Will chibnall ever write something with this level of subtext?

Chibnalls to the left of me, Dorneys to the right, here I am, stuck with no kino in Who

Please stop reminding me of the kino tax we're paying. It hurts more and more each day.

>Do you think that I care for you so little that betraying me would make a difference?

It gets the meaning across, the issue is more about it as a piece of dialogue that a character in a show says rather than the meaning behind it. It's a "yas to my friends" type concern rather than anything about its portrayal of race issues.

Honestly, "Yaz to my friends" was much clunkier a line. I think it was an attempt at the "People tend to spill out their secrets to the Doctor" scene, but it doesn't quite work.

The kino taxman

*five year plan

I honestly think "yas to my friends" was purely just to set up the line "I'm calling you yas 'cause we're friends now", giving the doctor a cheap way to show friendliness

ughrrr I miss Ben Aaronovitch

Actually, that scene would have been saved if, when 13 said "You're my friend now", Yaz had replied "But…you're not my friend."

Always stayed away from the streams though since my internet is shit but I saw last week I've made a mistake since the streams are absolute kinographè. 4 - Season 15

There's a podcast called Flight Through Entirety that Neo's podcast reminds me of. It's a group of gay auschads watching all of doctor who in order and they're currently up to series 1

Neither the First Doctor, nor Two or Three have that braggadacio about them. That "I'm the cleverest person in the room charisma", in an extroverted way, combined with that alien weirdness.

>Neo's podcast reminds me of. It's a group of gay auschads

recommend me doctor who podcasts, i've never listened to any

If Who did go to Ireland, what historical setting would it choose? War of Independance? 1916 Rising?

But seriously, they did all Classic before New? That's cool

Neo promised it won't remain an Aus circlejerk forever.

I've literally been the only Aussie on so far, and I'm not even on the next ep.

I was more reminded because of the more laidback podcast style, not because they're gay.

Worth noting they have all seen the entirety of the show before the podcast started and they mention Sandifer a fair bit

How far ahead have you planned the casts?

I can't call it "The Neo Show" anymore.

Oh well, it's for the best.

I never listened to it. Probably should before I'm featured ;-)

They would be too scared to go political, so it would be an episode about vikings and monks. And the monks would be comedy scared monks

Yeah nah sounds cool I was just ribbing ya, also oh shit that's based they're that well-read about it, are any of them single?

One of them is an american who saw series 1 without any knowledge that the show had existed before then and loves RTD, another is a scottish woman who grew up with late 70s/80s who, and prefers Moffat. The Rare Old Mountain Dew

Came in eighteen to one

I've got a feeling

This year's for me and you

So happy Christmas

I love you baby

I can see a better time

Did Chibnall set up the twitch stream so more people would understand all the Hartnell references in the opening?

This is literally because of Normies complaining that the Moffat era was 'TOO COMPLICATED'. You don't even have to pay attention to Chib a Finish, you can literally get the exact same experience out of it with your eyes closed.

I literally forgot there was an episode today. Jesus Christ it's like the show is dead to me.

I don't even think it's as far as that Moff's era/s were too complicated, I think it's something darker than that. Like gig put it,:

>How does this connect to the BBC’s desire to boost the popularity of the program? Easy. Moffat made the fatal mistake of wanting his viewers to engage closely with the content of the show; the problem with that is, if a viewer does so, they might decide they hate it (and if they don’t engage, they’ll be lost and hate it anyway). Chibnall Who has hit upon a foolproof remedy: make a show that the viewer can understand without following it. It is near-impossible for a show like this to offend or frustrate its intended audience. They can’t part ways with it, because it hasn’t asked them for any commitment to begin with.

>This phantom Doctor Who has its own, peculiar, oppressive power. If the content becomes largely irrelevant, then the act of “watching” the show becomes a ritual without a clear purpose beyond its own perpetuation. The BBC want people tweeting along during the episode, performing the affirmation and boosting its online presence, instead of having any direct confrontation with it – awareness fading in and out not unlike the Ghost Monument itself, keeping their experience of Doctor Who just abstract enough so that the séance can continue, en masse, all over the country and indeed the world.

>As for the contents of that forgotten, neglected screen? The things that, unlike the big locked door, made it to transmission? All of the creative potential and hard work put into producing that sorry rectangle of disposable content has been like a fire, raging away inside a concealed furnace, powering a vast engine so that it might grind on and on, and keep forcing out blackened slabs of a lifeless – haunted – end product.

It's not because of complexity turning people off, it's because chibnall doesn't want to leave anyone behind - including people who aren't paying direct attention

Doctor Who ended last year.

Theres an episode of Dr. Who on tonight though.

I understand the confusion. Bizarre of BBC to title two different shows so similarly

>mfw my sister who doesn't watch Doctor Who just asked me to explain 3's exile, The War Games, the Time War, Day of the Doctor (which she came with us to see in the cinema when it premiered), the Watcher, and the Master

You don't realise how convoluted the lore is in this fucking show until you've tried to explain it to a not-we.

How the fuck does she know about those if she doesn't watch it?

Reminds me a little bit of the VNA Head Games, which features the TV Comic version of 'Dr. Who' trying to assassin Queen Elizabeth (the second) because he mistakes her for a tyrannical leader of planet Eath. It's a parody of those TV Comic strips where the Doctor would arrive on some alien planet where the people are oppressed by some dictator, fucking kill the leader, and liberate their society in the space of 24 hours, because systemic problems are too complicated for TV Comic's prepubescent audience. That was a GOAT book.

Also, the book revealed that Mel left because the Doctor hypnotised her and made her leave. No, really. Honestly, can't say I blame him desu.

that sounds amazing, must read those one of these days

Yeah, Head Games is probably my favourite VNA. It's a sequel to Conundrum, about the Land of Fiction. I prefer Head Games, but Conundrum is good too, featuring a very intriguing use of narration. I won't spoil it here, but I'll just say it's something between third and first person narration, and there's an in-universe reason it's told that way, that could only be done in a Land of Fiction novel.

I thought it was called "the [something] problem"?

>Episode five, entitled The Tauranga Conundrum, will see the Doctor and her new friends stranded in the far-flung corner of the galaxy having to survive against one of the universe’s most dangerous creatures.

>New showrunner, Chris Chibnall wrote the episode and it was directed by Jennifer Perrott.

>Episode six, entitled Demons Of The Punjab, will see Jodie’s Doctor, Yaz (Mandip Gill), Graham (Bradley Walsh) and Ryan (Tosin Cole) travel to the Indian state of Punjab in 1947.

>The Doctor will quickly discover the demons are haunting the land and it’s up to her to find out who they are and what they want.

The racism disputation

Oh, one thing I almost forgot to mention though, the first few chapters of Head Games are some plot on the planet Detrios along with some aimless plotless wanderings through various fictional landscapes, and is pretty dull, but the book soon picks up and becomes very enjoyable indeed, featuring a complex examination of the simplistic 'good guys V bad guys' of the TV Comic stories Vs the complex moral ambiguity of the VNAs, the return of the Valeyard, a cameo by Sixie, Dinosaurs, literally every novel or TV companion of the Seventh Doctor returning - even the one-episode ones, and basically so many elements that any less GOAT book would get muddled and confusing, but Head Games manages to expertly juggle all its characters and plots.

She'll probably like it. Chibnall Who works for some people.

Thirteen has 5's emotional calmness, and 8's matter-of-factness, combined with more emotional honesty.

>She'll probably like it.

I think anon knows his sister better than you do.

I agree with this.

True, and so maybe his sister won't like it, but anon shouldn't prejudice his opinions onto his sister's. There's a "Rosa will be objectively shit" connotation from his reply, but we can't tell how the ep will play to a non-/who/re.

It'll give them something to discuss, at least.

Teresa May voted to remain.

Some of her emotional vulnerabilities are silly though, like giving up hope that the tardis would return when it was established from the start that the tardis was phasing in and out

>established from the start that the tardis was phasing in and out

But if you didn't catch the TARDIS at the right moment, it would completely phase out for several centuries. Thirteen lost hope because she thought she missed the window of opportunity.

As a side note, I like how bluntly 13 says "We'll die within one solar rotation." There's a touch of Twelve still in her.

You don't even have to watch it in order.

…And you think remain/leave is an unambiguous, unilateral left/right decider? You don't think there are any left-wingers who like the idea of splitting from the EU? You don't think there are neoliberal conservatives who'd rather the referendum had gone the other way/not happened? Do you think the EU is an especially left-wing organisation in the first place?

>I'd love to see the thread!

Found it, it wasn't the first thread I ever opened but might've been the first I posted in. David Bradley getting semi-confirmed and mong or a mong impersonator? it's a fun read, though, I loved that era of /who/.

>Chibnall OP

>"abandon thread. is mcgann still down?"

epic foreshadowing.

You don't even have to watch it at all.

what else could you possibly want from television?

Holy shit that was me impersonating mongo, so long ago…

the possibility existed that the tardis would phase in during that rotation, and she seemed to ignore that completely

if they make a point of 13 defaulting to pessimism then you could consider it a character trait, but my concern is it was just chibs trying to give 13 a "character moment", even though it was superficial and immediately fixed by a lucky coincidence

>Cloister !BelloTGpN

iirc they don't even have man-on-man action of any sort, just lots of almost naked men and extended scenes of guys rubbing themselves

I don't mean jerking off, I mean literally just rubbing their own chest. For 10 minutes. I've never really heard any Big Finish so I haven't heard that one. You haven't seen The Armageddon Factor? It's completely ridiculous and it drags but there's some kino stuff in there.

not mentioning ROOT

>2 that low

Wow. Just… wow.

Otherwise very nice.

He's so fucking based he doesn't need a season.

Okay, now that this shot exists I can't be snarky about the visual comparison anymore, I gladly concede

pretty much Neo's list except 2 above 9 and 1 right below.

2 has a goat goat goat era and is arguably the second best actor ever to play the part but 2's character himself I'm not a huge fan of, much like with 10.

12 > 7 > 11 > 9 > 8 > 4 > 6 > 3 > 2 > 10 > 1 > 5 > 13

really? I would say the opposite, that his conception of the Doctor is phenomenal and makes up for some of the sameness of his actual era. I'm surprised by this.

>much like 10

>10 has a goat goat goat era is is arguably the best actor ever to play the part

Touche. I'm being a bit rough on 2 because I had an altercation with a 2 fan earlier this week but you're right that there is a lot more layer and nuance to the character than I'm supposing.

>I had an altercation with a 2 fan earlier this week

Forgot to add that I hate to rank Doctors because they're all good in their own individual way but the nature of ranking requires preferential choice

10 > 13 > 11 > 9 > 12 > old who

>they're all good in their own individual way

Even 13?

where's 5?

based, dab on em

Deleted 5 by accident. between 3 and 11

I thought you loved 5?

Shouldn't have included 13 as her entire first run isn't even finished yet, strike her from the list

Wit the further observation that I don't actually dislike any of them, even if I don't like some of their stories, and the ones down at the bottom really only get stuck there because of how little of them I've seen.

File: f63272c940b03e3⋯.jpg (40.92 KB, 396x382, 198:191, back.jpg)

I do like 5, the nature of a ranking chart requires placing in a certain order. I like all Doctors (even the non-canon New Who Doctor/s). I don't like having 8, 6 and 4 that low but that's how an ordered ranking goes

>10 this high

Hi, Edge Lord. Bitch I thought you'd died WHY CAN'T YOU STAY DEAD

>10 that high

12 > the rest

>I don't have to tell you things are bad, everybody knows things are bad.

Seems a bit unfair to have 1 and 6 down so low but you did mention that you've seen v. little of their respective eras so that makes sense. What've you seen/not seen from them?

>no 5

How can one Nilso be so based

I suspect that Whithouse will find himself getting lower in the priority list of finding Doctor Who writers in future. That depends on how well Jamie Mathieson's second story turns out – Flatline was marvellously inventive, and next week is going to be something of a comedy as well. As well, it's a co-authored script, which could mean that Moffat is taking Mathieson under his wing in a way that he isn't with Whithouse. Whithouse is a more established television writer, and after several years of working with his scripts, the Moff would be well aware of his limitations.

I also have high hopes for Peter Harness' Zygon two-parter, and Catherine Tregenna's episode, the sequel to Mathieson's story, will likely be her first of many Doctor Who stories. Sarah Dollard seems to be an example of finding a writer better than Whithouse through Whithouse's networks, as she wrote a knockout late-period episode of Being Human and an episode of his The Game.

Doctor Who has always been a show that struggles to find its best writers. It's plain difficult to write for this show, generally speaking. So you sometimes have to hang on to the folks who are solid enough at stringing a story together, give them a less-prominent spot in the season, and let the bright talents shine brighter in comparison.

He's probably the worst Old-Who Doctor but some of his stories are IMO so kino they elevate him

Why Neo hates 3 so much?

Neo's a cletus that hates 3's era for being written by communists

>I had an altercation with a 2 fan earlier this week

You and the squid did tentacle wrestling?

Just look at Orford getting his 76th autograph and telling Peter his story and Peter not giving a single fuck.

Who is the squid?

6 has arguably the two best stories of Doctor Who~

Seeing Orford moving and talking in HD is a bit…unsettling

Piscon and Jubilee?

I love that people can have such wildly different opinions on who their favorite Doctor is. Most of them are utterly wrong, but that still doesn't make the conversation interesting.

Yeah I love Timelash and Revelation too

What others see as inconsistency I see as hypocrisy. Ten is the perfect tragic hero, killed by his own hubris, every bad decision he makes stemming perfectly from his own flaws.

For One I've really only seen a few episodes, Unearthly Child (watched it when I was a kid and couldn't stand the cavemen stuff but loved the first episode), Aztecs, Romans… I don't have a lot of patience for Terry Nation, so I've never sat through a whole Dalek serial, though I really did try with the Invasion of Earth. And with so much of 1's and 2's eras lost and my distaste for reconstructions, I've sorta relegated myself to just reading the novelizations of missing stories. Haven't gotten around to that very much yet.

Six, on the other hand… I like a lot of his mannerisms and his prickliness, but so much of it was done better with Capaldi and Eccleston and the actual stories he was in are some of the most intolerable shit I've ever watched.

Oh no no NO!

Half right.

>people are hating on based Tennant on here

Absolutely uncivilised savages.

What does gig have to do with a squid?

Davros and Thicker Than Water?

he likes tentacle porn

but the normies love him so we must hate him

>Ten is the perfect tragic hero, killed by his own hubris, every bad decision he makes stemming perfectly from his own flaws

Let's not pretend RTD had actually planned this from the start. He didn't even know where to go with Ten: no second chances man, I'M SO SORRY, Time Lord Victorious, SO MUCH MORE. His character development was all over the place.

I hate sounding Reddit but as a fellow Whovian you'd be well served to check out some 6/Evelyn audios at some point, genuinely fantastic, ambitious series with some of DW's absolute highpoints and a 'finale' to rival anything the best new series finales accomplished.

I get you with some of 6's stuff being almost intolerably awful. I guess I'm a little more used to things being so unbearably shit since I've probably seen Timelash more times than everyone else here has seen it.

Some of the Nation stuff is a bit eh but I, again, quite enjoy it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

>Let's not pretend RTD had actually planned this from the start

It doesn't need to be planned from the start in order to play out as perfectly as it does.

I want to listen to all of Doctor Who Big Finish stuff in release order. Is this a good idea?

>no second chances sort of man

>immediately gives cassandra a second chance in new earth

bravo rtd!

Ingiga is a Haemovore. Haemovores are covered in suckers. Squids have suckers. Ingiga is a squid.

>nobody defending John Hurt's honor

>I want to listen to all of Doctor Who Big Finish stuff… Is this a good idea?

>release order

Good idea

>listen to all

not so good idea but if you've the time and inclination, why not? Loads of folks here, including me, good give you a list of recommendations but nothing beats your own opinions.

But it didn't play out perfectly, at all.

The release order part is a good idea. The bad idea is bothering with all of it rather than stopping somewhere around 2012

Hurt and The War Doctor are two different things. Hurt is one of the best actors to be in the role, but it doesn't matter if a good actor is in a shit role because it'll be shit regardless

>>I want to listen to… Doctor Who Big Finish stuff… Is this a good idea?

It isn't even full of terrible stories, just overwhelmingly mediocre meeting the line to just be a passable story.

Depends if you're willing to sit through 9 shit audios to hear 1 good audio. I don't envy you sitting through all of 4's audios. 6+ series of audios and not enough good stories to count on one hand.

Big Finish isn't real Doctor Who. Stop talking about it.

>no second chances sort of man

>immediately gives Cassandra a second chance in New Earth

>I'm so sorry

>proceeds to trap the Family of Blood for eternity with no regrets

>I never would

>but did

>Time Lord Victorious

>immediately forgotten the next episode

>you're not dying you cunt

do you think we'll ever see purple in an episode again?

Smith Big Finish when?

>Big Finish isn't real Doctor Who

Big Finish is morel Doctor Who than that shit on TV

Do you think we'll ever see colour in an episode again?

You really need to listen to some in order.

Hate the game not the player. Leela is kino. Audio Leela? Not so much.

Hopefully never.

When I think of Big Finish I'm reminded of a main range trilogy about a man who gets hot, the opposite of Kane from Dragonfire. It was shit

When morph joins the show we'll get a lot of bisexual lighting.

Why are they never believable?

You may rely on it.

reminder that john hurt was given Only the Monstrously Bad stories from big finish before he died

Eccleston, Nesbitt, Smith, Capaldi!

name 5 examples

Imagine hating Capaldi this much.

Boudica in fourth doctor adventures.

I'll give more in new thread
