Night of the Doctor was actually filmed entirely in McGanns basement. It is actually much longer, but sadly the BBC cut most off it.
Several times a year McGann will send the BBC new homemade episodes. And several times a year they will be sent into the trash.
The only reason Night saw screens is because it was the 50th and Moffat was sick of death threats from rabbid McGann fans
