No.1688
>>1684The caretaker seems like a lot of good fun, it'll probably be one of the couple lighter stories this season (although Time Heist wasn't particularly dark). I'm also just really excited to see a completely new doctor who episode finished for the first time since Time of the Doctor (and arguably not even that because the whole thing was spoiled on GB and /who/ weeks before hand)

No.1719
>>1718>Because that would fuck with his timeline or some shit like thatthats what i mean
why doesnt he accidentally bump into himself at least semi regularly, if only on earth?
also, say some aliens alter earths history on 6th of july 2014 so doctor goes and sorts it out and history continues as normal, he doesnt forget what happened even though it never happened. therefore because he is a time traveller he is sort of outside of continuity. so why cant he go back in time to change things whenever he wants? so for example, he goes back in time to warn someone of something in the future, but him warning them takes away his motivation for having to warn them, but so what? hes outside continuity so it doesnt matter and wouldnt affect him. and yet it is an excuse used all the time.
this is a pretty big contradiction.

I bet all the shit/bane posters in 4chan's /who/ thread are having a field day over the fact that the Doctor kept referring to the telepathic alien in tonight's episode as big buy.
No.1724
>>1719If you haven't noticed when he's on Earth he tends to stick to (from the viewers point of view) the present. As time passes on Earth so does the Doctor. The 3rd Doctor is sticking to the 70's and the 12th is stick to the mid 2010's.
9 was in 2005, 8 stayed early 2000's.
That's why he doesn't bump into himself. Whether he does this intentionaly or if it's a TARDIS safeguard is not really known. He can choose to visit certain events in Earth's history, but something like that would probably stick in his head and he'd know not to go there again.

>>1682That episode was shit, I mean they were building up to something interesting and creepy only to pull a twist almost as retarded as avatar the last air bender movie at the end.
What I would like to know is who wrote listen, and who was under the sheet because it clearly wasn't fucking human.
Fuck this new series nothing has really blown my mind and it all has been disappointing.
No.1930
>>1929Then I would kindly disagree with you anon
No.1932
>>1929>who was under the sheet because it clearly wasn't fucking human.Ignoring that you can't see it 'clearly' at all, none of the characters ever saw it. Of course they'd conclude in the end that it was just some kid.
If you assume it was really an alien, then it's one that happened to get away unidentified, just like the Midnight creature. (It's obviously not the one the Doctor is looking for because it doesn't do any of the things he theorised that it's supposed to.)
The actual crux of the episode was that it doesn't matter whether or not there actually is anything under the bed or just behind you, being paranoid and frightened of it is something natural that even plagues the Doctor. Fear is a perpetual part of being a person and the episode was all about why it's something to be embraced, which is a pretty good message for all ages I'd say. And with its ties all the way back to the start of the show and "Fear makes companions of all of us" (100,000 BC) I'd say it's more relevant than actually finding the Ultimate Moffat Gimmick Monster the Doctor dreamt up.

No.1942
>>1937In the middle of watching Ark in Space, loving it. Also currently on series 2 of EDAs.
No.1945
>>1932Nope still makes no sense, if he was paranoid then the word listen would not have been written and there would not be anything under the sheets. Face it, the episode was crap. It was building up to something only to have Clara go to the time lord home world and scare the shit out of baby doctor. This ending came the fuck out of nowhere.
And lets not forget the plot point of everyone in the universe having the same dream at one point in their life which is of someone grabbing their foot, but if this only happened to the doctor then why is everyone having the same dream? Did the doctor get fucking bored and for shits and gigs went around and grabbed children by their feet.
Face it, the episode is badly written.
No.1956
>>1945>if he was paranoid then the word listen would not have been writtenHe wrote it himself. Not only was that the first thing Clara suggested, they even had a scene at the end of him writing LISTEN on a chalkboard. He does that sort of shit.
No.1957
>>1945>the plot point of everyone in the universe having the same dream at one point in their lifeThe Doctor found a few accounts of similar dreams throughout history and decided it was a mystery. There was no proof that "everyone in their lives has the exact same dream!"
Clara:
>You know sometimes we think there's something behind us, and the space under your bed is what's behind you at night. Simple as that.Multiple people had the same dream because it is quite literally, Generic Scary Dream. Everyone dreams about something under the bed. The Doctor missed the obvious reasoning for this because he was convinced that there must be some monster involved.
"Face it", this episode did not make it all the way to screen as a completely incoherent and illogical sequence of images with no relation. Actually paying attention solves all these "plotholes".
No.1959
>>1955
Anything that distracts people from shitposting is good in my book
No.1966
>>1956No he didn't write it, this is proven when he is a away from the blackboard there is a sound effect of someone writing on that board indicating he did not write it, plus the monster under the sheet. Again it was a horrible twist simply because there was no build up or evidence.
No.1967
>>1957There are too many plotholes to list.
1.How the fuck did Clara get the tardis onto galafry, wasn't it timelocked?
2. Who wrote that on the board,it clearly wasn't the doctor because the sound was when he was away from the board.
3.Who the fuck was under the sheet, now this couldn't have been their fucking imagination because they all saw it.
4. Dose Moffat even know how to create a good twist, A good twist has evidence and makes logical sense, this seems to have come out of nowhere.

>>19741.This first twist would be better if it was implied it was the doctor and they were timelords.
2.He didn't write it because he was away from the board at the time it was wrote, plus the chalk rolled toward him.
3.So there was a kid scaring the shit out of a bunch of adults? There was a moment when the sheet was removed and granted it was blurred, that thing did not look human. If I was writing this episode then yes it would be a kid, I would have had all the evidence show that the creature dose not exist.
5. Fair enough, I like a ton of crppy movies that had a ton of plotholes, mostly crappy 80s b movies. My point is that this series has disappointing me so far, for example the forced lesbian crap in the beginning felt forced, them telling you they were married every fie minutes and that kiss. I prefer the way it was in earlier episodes where yes they were a couple and lesbian but that wasn't their whole character.
My point is Moffat should probably stop writing for doctor who, He is not the best for sci fi.

Hello, /who/. I am currently watching Kill The Moon, and it's not easy – I've had to force myself to keep going the entire episode. I am now at the point when Clara just did her stupid little speech to Earth which would not explain fucking anything to fucking anyone, and now they're all running to see what happened in a shot which is all le ebin and dramatic for some extremely fucked up reason. Does she seriously expect city councils to make a decision about shutting off their power grids in less than fucking five minutes? Clara started off as a likable, decent, clever girl, what the fuck happened to her?
Other than that, Courtney has been an absolute abomination to watch and listen to, and the fact that this enormous piece of shit was so well received in the pre-views makes me want to kill several puppies with my bare hands.
As usual, the Doctor is the only enjoyable character to watch, but he has now, wisely enough, left them all to rot. I have now vented my frustration a bit and will attempt to finish watching the episode, if only in the hopes that the Doctor never comes back to save them, they all die and then it cuts to some footage of Moffat killing himself.
And even if that happens, it is still going to be in my top 5 worst NuWho episodes.

8's "I can see time" (okay, that's a carry over from Fail the Moon, but had to salvage something)
