Heavy Metal Music scientifically proven to be privileged white people screaming about nothing:

>At the country-level, the number of heavy metal bands per capita is positively associated with economic output per capita (.71); level of creativity (.71) and entrepreneurship (.66); share of adults that hold college degrees (.68); as well as overall levels of human development (.79), well-being, and satisfaction with life (.60).

>The bottom line? Though metal may be the music of choice for some alienated working-class males, it enjoys its greatest popularity in the most advanced, most tolerant, and knowledge-based places in the world. Strange as it may seem, heavy metal springs not from the poisoned slag of alienation and despair but the loamy soil of post-industrial prosperity. This makes sense after all: while new musical forms may spring from disadvantaged, disgruntled, or marginalized groups, it is the most advanced and wealthy societies that have the media and entertainment companies that can propagate new sounds and genres, as well as the affluent young consumers with plenty of leisure time who can buy it.

>Series 4 - 94% / 683 reviews

>Series 9 - 83% / 753 reviews

Unbound Adventures In Time And Space is now avaliable to buy, with proceeds going to an Against Malaria foundation. It's a charity anthology, all about alternate takes on the Doctor, ranging from a "What if Capaldi had been playing the 8th Doctor", to "What if Rose actually convinced Ten to take time into his own hands?", to "What if the Doctor was a mind virus?" Quite a few of these authors have been part of other anthologies, and a few are actually official authors. Nate had a lot to do with initially setting this anthology up, so it's sort of /who/'s extended canon, in a way.

(Also, I've written a story in this anthology.)

Orders and pre-orders will go live on January 4th. Prices for the digital (4.99), physical release (20.99) , and combined (22.99) are within.

Do you think Resolution will end with ‘time for a rest’?

 No.183465

Just a reminder that this last series is a boil on the ever fattening arse that is Doctor Who. Since the show’s ceremonious revival in 2005 once flabby cheeks have grown bulbously about a poo-filled core and no matter how much weight it gains, despite the additional squishiness cushioning it from criticism, at its centre is still a hole that waste comes out of. This last series is just a new blemish on an already bloated and stinky dung device that is poo pooing away year on year, squeezing out big fat episodes. But (no pun intended) it’s function is essential and I would welcome a return to the epic drama of seasons 4 or 5.

Why aren't they heavily promoting the daleks to try and get an audience for the new years special? All of the first trailers, which are the ones that most people would have seen, just look like "there's battles" to casual fans who can't guess it's about a dalek

where's the teaser that shows off the new dalek design in low context extreme closeups, like game console teasers? Establish the stakes of the story as something relevant and engaging to the audience rather than showing random battles that took place in the past?

For someone who was supposedly hired in part because he knew how to make event television with the hugely successful broadchurch, why the fuck has his marketing been absolutely abysmal beyond the initial push for the first episode?

i'm never going to find a criticism of series 11 that really gets to the heart of why it feels so shallow. people point out problems with it, but even if those problems were solved i don't think it would be enough to fix the fundamental boredom of it all. like, maybe yaz gets a few more lines with graham. maybe they make her a character. i'd still find it shit. ryan and graham are more developed than any character in dark season, for example, yet i find myself liking the dark season characters a lot more anyway. it's like you can't fix these characters just by explaining that they have parents and giving them perfunctory backstories.
