Not really, she was just there to correct the timeline after the GI fucked it all up. In most cases she was just sort of beating some guy up in the background while the Doctor did his shit.

The Doctor picked that TARDIS he's in without anyone influencing the decision.

Then the Great Intelligence fucked with his timeline at every point in history and made it so that he picked the "wrong" TARDIS.

Then an iteration of Clara in the timestream corrected it back to him picking the TARDIS he had originally before the GI fucked with that.

TL;DR Clara didn't pick out his TARDIS for him, she just helped correct time back to the permutation that the GI was trying to derail it from.

I like the way Clara evolved in new series, from "Doctor's so cute, I'll follow him because he's hot" to a real companion state, helping him and stuff.
Not one of my favourite one, but she gained my respect since this season (especially in Into the Dalek chapter)
