Admittedly soy af but I totally want a P'ting doll. A Sniperbot would've been so much better though. The P'ting looks nearly exactly the same as the actual monster!

 No.246944

Is it just me or is the set of Pop Dolls they're apparently doing kind of weird, even apart from the humour of them not doing Yaz?

>13

>P'ting

>Graham

>Ryan

>Kerblam postman

>Scrapyard Dalek

Like for better or worse Jim Shaw is surely iconic enough a S11 thing to be worth one over a lame one of Ryan or Graham? I really think a Sniperbot would've been kino but I get why they didn't.

Now I remember that Queen dies in 2021, two years from now, which would make her 95. Nah, not buying that. She sure as shit ain't gonna die until Philip does, and he won't die until Kirk Douglas does. Come to think of it, the Queen isn't really deteriorating at all, so I could easily see her living even more than the Queen Mum. Honestly, I think Russell just put this bit in so it'd be the His Majesty's Emergency Broadcast at the end of episode 1, just incase people forget we were in the future.

In Doomsday, when Rose says there’s a baby, and the doctor says “You’re not…”, the line is delivered as if the doctor is certain of this fact rather than exclaiming in disbelief

This means that 10 and Rose were sexually active and 10 was using protection

My favorite part of Series 11 was how wonderful the writing was in some very key parts. Granted, it wasn't all excellent, but it was in the bits where it needed to be. I don't want Chibnall to go back to the Davies and Moffat eras, as some opinion pieces have claimed. I want it to be experimental. The Davies and Moffat eras are great, but Chibnall has his own flair that feels unique, and above everything, entertaining.

 No.247270

>>247269

Sure. I thought many things were meant to change up the status quo for Series 11, including the timeslot in which the episode aired being changed, how several episodes had no antagonists, the fact that only after a whole 10 episodes did any major villains appear, the creation of the Stenza as a new recurring villain, the casting choices, new writers, and several other things that shook up the fundamentals of the show.

I just hope they aren't dissuaded by those who don't like the changes and continue to experiment, even more than they have before.

I'd have to disagree. It felt very fresh to me, unlike any Doctor Who content I had experienced before. I enjoyed the stories, and it was a nice time, watching it with my family. I'm convinced Series 12 will follow suit and be just as groundbreaking and entertaining.

out of all of these i'd say the only novel thing chibnall did was the new slate of writers, though i'd say patel was the only one successful one. still, it was a nice idea, one of few that i had a great feeling about before the series aired.

series 9 was vastly more experimental than this with its two part, often only thematically related stories. i guess if you're impressed by 'wow the villain isn't really a villain after all' then it'd seem great. 'no previous recurring villains' isn't an achievement, i'd say new commentary on an old idea is much more valuable than the pting or the tooth man.

Russell "The" Davies, the hysterical radical leftist, created a strawman of Trump to criticise his attacks on the media, leaving out all context that the news he criticises is full of heavy negative spin or outright provable falsehoods. He can’t get away with disrespecting the President of the United States like that! We need to start a change.org petition to show that we will not stand for it!

I can explain this one pretty easily for you mate. Series 5 was fun. Series 11 is bland. There's no secret sauce behind it, it really is that simple. You can practically check off a list of "things that made S1-10 entertaining" for each one that S11 just didn't bother with. They adopted a very mild new ethos of making everything fake-nice and having scarcely any meaningful conflict, but they didn't use it to fascinate, amaze, surprise, shock, terrify, provoke, or compel.

Missy showed up in 12's comics, but not sure about 13's. I do know Thirteen's team has met Time Agents, though.

>>247393

The DWM comics currently had Thirteen, in 1600's Denmark, on horseback alongside a philosopher woman with a bow and arrow, chasing after an alien life-form from a chaos dimension who has taken the form of a giant wizened version of 13. The plot was resolved by Thirteen throwing a literal logic energy bomb at the giant creature, while Tycho Brahe and a bunch of other secret society members basically recite the math equations from Logopolis to link up and access the inner working of the universe to defeat the chaos monster.

What I'm saying is, the comics are definitely crazy.

many EU auhors who were pretty considered back in the novels days, and still are with BF, go absolutely nuts in the comics, throwing multi-Doctors and crossover storylines gratuitously, using cosmic universe-erasure threats every week or so and making Classic and NuWho interfere on lore levels that would make Loz look like a wimp.

s11 was very original for its "literally almost loreless" premise, but it couldn't last. if that panel is fairly recent it might be a taster of the back-to-the-lore s12, where judoon are already returning. what is unknown is how much of the explanations will occure off-screen, considering all they have to cover (eg "Time Lord" wasn't even pronounced once in s11)

This is me. Literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like this. There is no way you can convince me this is not me. This character could not possibly be anymore me. It's me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of this not possibly being me, then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that this character is me. This character is me, it is indisputable. Why anyone would try to argue that this character is not me is beyond me. If you held two pictures of me and this character side by side, you'd see no difference. I can safely look at this character every day and say "Yup, that's me". I can practically see this character every time I look at myself in the mirror. I go outside and people stop me to comment how similar I look and act to this character. I chuckle softly as I'm assured everyday this character is me in every way. I can smile each time I get out of bed every morning knowing that I've found my identity with this character and I know my place in this world. It's really quite funny how similar this character is to me, it's almost like we're identical twins. When I first saw this character, I had an existential crisis. What if this character was the real me and I was the fictional being. What if this character actual became aware of my existence? Did this character have the ability to become self aware itself?

<DANIEL MOORING asks: What does the Doctor make of Donald Trump's decision to run for President of the United States?

>The Doctor is entirely opposed to Donald Trump as President, because he believes in intelligence and kindness. And Donald Trump appears to stand opposed to both those impulses. So although the Doctor normally takes no part in politics, he is disgusted and turbulent with rage that someone who is a reality television star would contemplate executive power. Executive power is always repellent to the Doctor - unless it's his, of course, but he's funny that way. But he almost has not words to express how fully contemptuous he is of Donald Trump. Having seen a parallel universe in which Donald Trump actually won the election, he knows that certain doom results. He is extremely concerned that we do not find ourselves in that parallel universe.

In October of 1943, Noor Inayat Khan was captured and interrogated by the Nazi occupation force and, after two escape attempts, was executed at Dachau concentration camp September 13, 1944. The tag on the wardrobe indicates Inayat Khan’s execution scene will be featured in Scene 75 of Episode 2.

what's the real value in showing her just letting shit happen? demons of the punjab was an good commentary on how the doctor, for all her bravado, ends up being both presumptuous and then ineffectual, and it's interesting from a meta pov to analyse just why it's disrespectful for the doctor to stop the holocaust or real life tragedies, but i'm feeling like it's just becoming exploitative bafta bait tragedy porn. it's not bold and it's not even clever. but hey, you can't imagine colin baker doing it!
