Best: Fuck this one is difficult. Probably "Family of Blood" 2-parter.

So how did you guys get into Classic Who?
I started with City Of Death and really enjoyed it.
Then I watched Creature From The Pit and really enjoyed it.
Then I watched Nightmare On Eden and enjoyed it.
Then I read someone named "JNT" took over and the story quality apparently gets "shit" and then I lost interest.
And then I got back into it and watched Attack Of The Cyberman which I really enjoyed.
Then I watched Varos which I thought was shit and turned me off of the 6 era forever.
And then I recently go back into it with Remembrance and watched through 7/Ace.
Now I'm going back and watching through Key To Time.
I'm fucking all over the place.

I jumped back to the Second Doctor soon after. I could just never get into the First Doctor, he just seemed too grumpy in the episodes I watched. Two was funny and great to watch. I continued on and finally caught up to Remembrance, finished off 7, and watched the movie.

The Doctor takes the Moment with him at the end of the war. It cannot be destroyed by him, and the only safe place to put keep it is in the TARDIS. Rassilon uses a connection through time to reprogram the Moment and use it to bypass the time lock.
Rassilon takes Gallifrey out and invades Earth. Rassilon manages to take possession of the Moment and has been given a new cycle of regenerations. It's up to the Doctor to stop him. Cue "Final Days" soundtrack and Rassilon spitting in front of the Senate as the new Gallifreyan Empire begins.

No.3385
>>3380He's in the TARDIS, doing his usual thing, showing up to Earth. All of the alarms go off, and the TARDIS freaks out. The Moment has activated, and is breaking the Time Lock.
Gallifrey emerges over Earth and the Doctor is amazed. He instantly realizes that this is Gallifrey at the end of the Time War and could be very dangerous. The Doctor cautiously approaches and lands in the Citadel. He stands before the High Council and the Military leadership. They thank him for his assistance in rescuing Gallifrey, but in typical Timelord fashion, confiscate his TARDIS. Since it's the only TARDIS on Gallifrey (until new ones can be procured), the Timelords require it.
The Doctor realizes that Rassilon is going to use it to invade Earth for resources and labor. The TARDIS refuses to cooperate but the Timelords have trapped it. They disable it, break into it, and install a device that restricts the free-will or whatever of the TARDIS. It's enslaved to the Timelords. Rassilon begins marching his armies inside the TARDIS and they set off to Earth. There's already mass chaos, and the Timelords, with their advanced technology, quickly overwhelm Earth's defenses.
This is a pretty rough layout. I might expand it because muh fanfickshun.

When they were going to ram the train, he was very eager. He wanted to do something heroic and die doing it and be remembered for it. Clara tied the hairband around the train's lever and yanked him out of it, taking that away from him.

>>3445The Doctor's sense of morality contradicts the morality he puts into action.
The Doctor believes a "good person" could not knowingly sacrifice others and manipulate them with lies.
But, he does so in the name of the greater good while hating himself for it so that other's don't have to. He sacrifices his own morality so that the maximum number of people will live.
It kills him that Clara has picked up this morality and sees nothing inherently wrong with it. Clara is supposed to be the part of him that is innocent and free of such choices but can help him save the day. Now, she's started lying, manipulating and taking on a Consequentialist moral system. Worse, she's "chipper" about it. She just watched multiple people die but she cares more about his approval.

>>3497Season 8 has had easily the most philosophical/character complexity of any season of nuwho, they've been super consistent with the the Clara+Doctor character arcs and despite it being an obvious focus (am I a good man?) they haven't spelled everything out for people. I still think RTDs characters had more emotional depth but Moffat is finally nailing an "intelligent" story that isn't just "lol convoluted plot!"
The kids get the "MAN WHO FIGHTS THE MONSTERS" and the adults get "goodness has nothing to do with it."
No.3505
>>3504Moffat may have finally found the perfect balance.
I definitely agree with your statement about RTD's emotional depth, but it is often done inappropriately and out of character. 10 was so inconsistent that I wondered if he had the same showrunner at times.
Hopefully Moffat does manage to bring some more emotion to the characters, starting with Danny.
