I visit semi-regularly to make sure that the place hasn't been spammed with gore or porn. Haven't actually posted in ages though (which is why I screwed up the mod tag in my name when I first posted).

what the fuck is the point of spamming cartoons of everything? Why do bronies feel the need to shove their fan art in everyone's faces? It doesn't bother me that much but what is the flippin point?

If there comes a time that I can show UID counts at the bottom of the threads without implementing poster IDs themselves, I probably will.

At the moment the two things are directly linked in the settings and I've never been a fan of IDs.

Also if you are curious about the count right now we're upto 6 uniques already for this thread which is pretty great.

Not a Pony fan, but some people like showing their appreciation through making pony versions of characters (also, there's a Pony version of the Doctor in My Little Pony, so it's not as far a step as one would think.) Either way, let's not bother them, as long as the pony art isn't excessive. I want this to be a comfy space for all sorts of fans.

I wouldn't have had fake Doctor try to regenerate in the opening of Series 6. Would have made the tesselecta thing make so much more sense if the Tardis team had just been utterly confused as to why the Doctor wouldn't bother regenerating at such a vital moment.

The way it is now just makes it look like Moffat had no idea wtf he was doing and just thought up the tesselecta thing at the last moment.

I should rewatch 'Genesis'. Since I'm more steeped in fanlore, I might appreciate it more.

 No.5889

Depends on how you interpret "Rose". There's a scene where 9 looks at himself in the mirror and comments on his appearence, implying he just regenerated. If that's the case then 9 only lasted about a year, even shorter than 10's lifespan. Although this has been somewhat retconned by the account of the War Doctor's age in The Day of the Doctor, I think it was like a hundred years younger than 9 said he was (not to mention it's kind of hard to picture the Doctor going straight from the end of the Time War to business as usual in Rose).

 No.5890

>>5889
True…and 9, Jack, and Rose could have gone o several years of adventures. Plus 9 probably did some moping around after the Time War–perhaps he never looked in a mirror out of shame, or just not focusing on it before. I think it's been stated that 10 only had 2-5 years of life–that's like a infant in normal Time Lord lifespans.

 No.5891

>>5889
Eccleston says in the johnathon ross interview that scene is him checking himself out after regenerating. Its never said directly on screen though so its easily handwaved

 No.5892

>>5891
There's of course the old "when 9 goes in his Tardis and leaves Rose, and materializes back" argument that in that time he had a bunch of adventures. The book "Beasts Of Babylon" takes place in that gap.

 No.5893

>>5889
Its just not going to make sense with the retcon is the thing.

There's also even an easier idea.

>9 drops off Rose to hang out with Mickey

>goes into tardis to do shit
>gets busy
>has years of adventures
Although considering how much 9 seemed to like Rose I doubt he would go that long without going back to see her. You could insert 3 or 4 stories though.

Rewatching The Mark of the Rani. I forgot how much of a fucking asshole the 6th Doctor is. I just want to punch him in the face. And don't tell me they did him better in Big Finish or comics whatever, what matters most is the tv show, that's where the characters come from and what they're supposed to be designed for.

Also I can't understand a word these 19 century britbongs are saying without listening to every line at least twice. It literally sounds like audio of normal people talking played backwards. Why did I even want to watch this again?

>I kind of feel like I'm missing out now! [Laughs] Especially after reading the script of the Christmas Special. I absolutely loved it. Genuinely, I was a bit like, 'Why haven't I been watching this?' I was amazing. I can't wait for you to watch it."

>"[Nick Frost is] probably the most iconic Santa I can think of. Obviously, there's a lot of Santa films, but he brings that little bit of comedy and the little bit of something different. I think it'll kind of be the one that you remember most."

>"It might [grinning] involve a sleigh that gets crashed into a roof top and that's how we discover Santa being a little bit careless."

>"Most of our scenes are with [Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman] but essentially on this polar base where we find ourselves, the elves and Santa usually turned up on one side of the set and Peter and Jenna were on the other. The last scene that we filmed was on a roof top and we were very much in close proximity them and finally managed to spend a bit more time with them. Working with the Doctor and Jenna who plays Clara so well was very enjoyable."

>"I play an elf [laughs], as you can see by the ears [fingers mighty fine looking prosthetic ears]. It's very much a trio between Santa [played by Nick Frost] and his elves. They're a team, they look out for each other. It's quite a close relationship, you can tell that they'e spent quite a lot of time together. They go on a journey, to a lot of houses! [Laughs] They're there as unlikely heroes. It's not something you'd expect Santa to be doing, going to a sci-fi polar base or land and go and save the day. But I guess that's what he's called upon. It's not "Who you gonna call, the Ghostbusters," it's "Who you gonna call on Christmas Day - it's gonna be Santa!"

>"I was half-expecting green lycra and a tacky costume but it's genuinely one of the most exciting costume fittings I've ever been to. As soon as you put it on - you are the elf. I'm hoping to take the shoes home [fellow elf actor Dan Starkey also raved about the shoes in another interview]. I FaceTimed my daughter and the it was the first thing she said, "SHOES!" [Laughs] Whenever I FaceTime her that's what she wants to see."

>"I think the storyline itself, not just the monsters, but the storyline brings a creepiness to it. The monsters are essentially Dream Crabs, or Sleepers who [redacted by request of the BBC] We're there to make sure they don't cause too much damage."

Doctor Who and the Pirates, no doubt. Great fun in the piratical stuff, the musical episode is absolutely golden and the more dramatic stuff actually managed to make me blubber like a baby. 10/10 on all fronts.

I dunno. We haven't had much need for it since even the earliest threads on this board are still here. It practically is an archive compared to the constant flux of /who/.

You mean embed? There's an embed field in the "post reply" box up the top, you copy and paste the YouTube URL into it.
Testing it myself.
