The Teammate Thread
While 90% of the teammates I end up with are shitty, I have made a thread to vent the frustration caused by those that are especially shitty. If you happen to be pissed off at a Peruvian/Russian or two feel free to add your short story to the collection.
>Enemy team has a weird combo and I'm too scrub to know what would be best against all of them
>Hit random
>Get le balanced assassin ghost
>Go chill in bot lane with Nyx
>Enemy team (Drow and Sven) tries to towerdive at lvl 3 and bag me an easy double kill
>Get to lvl 6 while they're at lvl 4
>They're too scared to bother actually harassing me
>Practically have freefarm up until I build my BF, getting 3 more kills within that time
>Legion joins Drow and Sven and they begin to push after fucking Nyx up
>Tiny and Gyro come to back me up
>Gyro ults, Tiny stuns and I run in
>Kill Legion but then realise that the other faggots have decided to stay at the tower
>Get stunned by Sven and nearly killed
>10% HP as I blink back to tiny
>Both enemies have ~50% HP
>He fucking tosses me
>I die and give the enemy team a ridiculous amount of gold
>Skip ahead 20 minutes and we've lost almost every tower along with all rax
>I'm at a painful 12:8
>Tiny has 1:13
>I've calmly given him advice all game but only received insults or silence in return
>Finally lose it when he again tosses me while I'm on the brink of death
>Tell the Peruvian scumbag to learn English
>"lol i not learn english american bitch"
>USE
>"report pa for comm abuse"
>"my team noob i have no fucking help"
>"report nyx"
>We repel the enemy push
>I abandon
>No low prio but I genuinely wouldn't care
Also, shoutout to the Ursa that tried to solo Rosh withut lifesteal at lvl 4.
Board Content
Hey folks, I know we're a relatively small community but I'd like to enlist anyNew and Improved Guides for Good Goys
I know we've had one or two hero guides since this board was made, but hopefully making one that can be used regularly will help to restore the board's activity.
That said, I'll be making posting my quick guide to 6.86 Luna.
In the last year or so, Luna has had some off-and-on appearances in professional matches. She's a strong carry with plenty of presence throughout the entire match. Considering that she's been buffed here and there for four patches in a row, there's a lot of potential behind the hero that is overlooked.
>Skill build
Skill build is simple. Max Q, then E. Every time. Don't take Glaives until your other two skills are maxed. Glaives get stronger as the game progresses, while the other two don't scale as well. It's important to max your Q first so that your ult can actually do some damage. It's more than enough to get a kill on a solo enemy, so don't reject that shit. Q and E can help with harassing and E will give you a great advantage while competing for CS in lane. Level ult when you can, of course
>Early game
Pick up a cheap stat item to help with surviving the laning stage and farming a little faster. Ring of Aquila and Drums are good options. I like to pick up a Morbid Mask right after, since Luna is pretty squishy early on, but hits pretty hard. Luna also has the highest base movement speed in the game, so you can usually wait a little while to get boots.
Once you've got a setup where you can farm efficiently, you'll want to get a Blink Dagger. TRUST me, very important item on Luna. Not only does she have a pitiful attack range for a ranged hero, but your disable's range isn't very great either and your ultimate affects an area around you (See: Earthshaker, Tidehunter, Shadow Fiend, Puck, etc.) It gives you a more reliable escape than Shadow Blade, fits with your abilities, and allows for you to blink between jungle camps to accelerate your farm.
>Mid game
BKB is usually a good item to at least consider. Dragon Lance is a good all-around choice to pick up early, as it has helpful stats, a well-needed attack speed boost, and can be disassembled into a Butterfly and BKB/SnY. Speaking of SnY, it's a fairly good item for Luna, although scrubs tend to prefer Manta, which is shit on most ranged heroes. Survivability. Maim. Increased movement speed. DPS. Not always ideal, especially if you plan on getting other items to help solve your kiting issue, but definitely an item to consider. Diffusal Blade is another cost-efficient stat item that has a lot of utility.
>Late game
Luna's item selection for late game is honestly pretty lacking. Build for the situation between Satanic, Butterfly, Skadi, AC, MKB, and the previously mentioned mid-game items. Take advantage of your physical DPS and tear through creep waves and rack up tower damage. There aren't too many heroes who can out-carry Luna, so it you've made it this far, congrats. Don't throw.
>Other things to consider
Luna's a very strong hard carry, unless you waste your gold and inventory slots on shit like Agh's and Shadow Blade (Silver Edge is an okay choice if the break is really needed).
Yes, Luna's a farm vacuum, but she's got strong presence throughout the game. Help your team. Push lanes. Gank. Teamfight.
8chan Genesis Dotogellion 3.0
This is CANADIAN PIG (http://steamcommunity.com/id/canadianpig/).
I know things have been inactive for a while, so I wanted to see if we can get back in touch with the community. It seems that we had some cool events going for a while that fell off.
First, if you want to chat with other 8chan users, join the public chat channel "8chandoto" in the Dota 2 client. We used to use guild chat, but since it died with reborn, this is the best we have for general user use; just search for the channel "8chandoto" in the user channel list and add it even if it isn't there, it will readd at startup and any other users who have it added will connect to the channel automatically as well.
Second, we have a steam group page (http://steamcommunity.com/groups/8chandoto) where there are events and discussion. Things are dead now, but hopefully there will be some more activity in the near future (wink wink ;^])
Finally, in order to try and get some people from the community playing together, I suggest lurkers/posters try to get their names out to other players. Joining the chat channel and group are great ways to do this (but not as good as guilds Valve what the fuck). I plan on sending a friend request to all the players in the Steam group to try and get some people playing together. I also plan on trying to use the "Open Party" feature a bit more to try join some parties.
Just wanted to remind everyone the board is alive (at least I check it about every day) so hopefully the silent people will be more willing to speak up and we can start doing some stuff together again <3.
Also, I would make a thread on the beta board but the beta is so fucked up at the moment I can't use the file upload function to make a new thread.
MIGRATION
Not that anyone is regularly here, but since there was a migration…
https://beta.8ch.net/dota2 is the beta board. I've started going there instead of here. We aren't really active enough to warrant keeping up long when the old boards start being deleted, so just thought I would offer a fun reminder.
**Yes the beta is shit and I wish we could just stick with the UI of Infinity instead of Next
The one pro is no captcha on this board and some others**
6.85
It's out guys.
>RIP 17%
>No more Necro Ancient bullshit
>Batrider is back in the game babe
>Ogre LITERALLY TAKES NO DAMAGE
>plus Bloodlust on towers wtf
>Earth Spirit is now a little more retarded proof
>Enchantress Skadi nightmares incoming
>Invoker is the beaker of knowledge he was meant to be
>the radioactive Horse is shit in lane now
>Lifestealer be like GET IN THE ANCIENT SHINJI
>Oracle winrate is gonna be like 20% now
>Phantom Assassin now can stun with the dagger if she has basher?
>Techies is now unplayable
>Terrorblade is… buffed I guess?
>Bounty Hunter is shit now
This patch has been going on for so long, many a techies game was had. In fact during this patch I almost got engaged a bit of a tragic story but, I'll gather up my strength and try to relive some of the painful memories. It started way back in July, TI was right around he corner and I met this lovely girl name Sally and her odd friend Joseph. The techies menace was in full force and Sally and I actually bonded quite well on our absolute hatred of balanced space pony and techies. We started dating and things had only gotten better as we were closer than ever; however, Joseph an avid techies player was starting to act odder and stranger. After TI things were going so well that I proposed to Sally and she said yes, just picture it a marriage based on the hatred of techies and 6.84. Then one night Joseph broke into our room we were sharing together and yelled SUICIDE SQUAD ATTACK and ran headfirst into Sally. Unfortunately her aegis had expired and she died of blunt force trauma to her brain. Joseph's eye was the only thing that was injured and it swelled up to what looked like a massive cotton ball. I cursed him as the cops took him away and I have no idea where he is today. To this day every time I see a techies player in a game, well I think to myself quietly that if it hadn't been for cotton eyed Joe I'd been married a long time ago, where did you come from, where did you go, where did you come from cotton eye Joe
Failures of dota2
>90% of US east/west is dirty fucking mongoloid spic fuckers
>flavor of the month hero rotation
>no new heroes in 8 months +
>valve jewery fucking up the aesthetic of the game
>50% of the heroes are useless
>50% of the heroes are nerfed
>fun is nerfed, as well as different play styles
>unfun heroes are buffed to ridiculousness
>broken mute system still in effect
>game has become more buggy and unstable since beta
>hero denying has essentially been removed completely
>pointed nerfs forcing slow boring farm based play instead of team pushing strats or ganking
>pointed nerfs on spawn times and gold forcing games to go on longer than they should
>since beta the average killing power of supports has gone down incredibly low
>supports now simply ward bitches instead of actual players
>no-core team comps now completely impossible to pull off
Just wondering, do you think valve has made dota as bad as it could be? Or do you think there is another developer that could manage to make it worse? Really, handing dota2 over to riot games might be the correct thing to do at this point, at least in LoL you don't have to deal with spics.
How do I get better at last hitting while under lane pressure in mid?
I can get 50lh@10mins without enemies (just practicing on custom games with no bots) but anytime you add that in I get killed.
Even when I harass back as a ranged character, if seems I'm trying so hard to get the last hits that then I'm losing too much health.

Has anyone else been experiencing some extreme levels of autism since Reborn became the primary client? I'm talking about drastic, unexpected changes that don't really make sense.
To start, EVERYONE seems fucking retarded. All teammates and all enemies don't seem to have any idea of what's going on. I've been stomping every game by partying up, since it's almost always 2v0.
With that said, I've never had a problem with kids in Dota until now. I would almost never hear any screaming 12 year olds, now they seem to show up every few games. Did PewDiePie start endorsing Dota? Is this turning into the new MemeCraft?
Tl;dr where did the retards and children come from?
does anyone want to play dota together? im tired of playing with pubs that dont communicate.
i only started playing a few days before TI5, and have about 260 hours in. im not a shitter, but im not mlg pro

Hero-Player trends
There's a lot you can tell about your teammates based on their hero picks.
>Abaddon
Wants to win this game more than anything else. Will do anything and everything to ensure victory and he doesn't care who he has to step on to win.
>Alchemist
Has no intention of farming, will almost always end with GPM around 400. Also lives my the motto "It's never too late to build a Hand of Midas."
>Anti-Mage
Read online somewhere that Anti-Mage was a hard carry and decided to try him, despite the enemy team not having any Intelligence heroes. Doesn't plan on farming, but considers himself to be the most important player in the match. 40% chance of building lifesteal, 60% chance of feeding, 100% chance of blaming everyone else on his team when he single-handedly loses the match.
>Pudge
"Give me that middle lane, I've got a game to lose!"
>Slark
No older than 14, thinks he's the greatest player in the world and plans to go pro. He doesn't watch pro games, but he heard that Na'Vi was pretty good, so he wants to join them. Will either stomp the enemy team or feed all game, usually the latter.
>Sniper
Completely silent, probably muted. Doesn't understand why he can't instantly win each game by picking Sniper in 6.84. Has never read patch notes and he has intention of farming. Will buy MoM every match, followed by Shadow Blade and Desolator. Will do everything in his power to make sure you lose.
>Techies
Asshole.
>Timbersaw
The biggest try-hard you will ever meet. Considers himself to be a Dota mastermind. Will sometimes play well, but will usually throw the game by building stupid items.
THIS FUCKING RETARD
THERE'S GETTING A RANDOM RETARD IN MATCHMAKING, AND THEN THERE'S THIS RETARD WHO'S 700 MMR BELOW YOU AND THREATS YOU PERSONALLY, THE WORST PART BEING THAT HE'S A MEMBER OF YOUR TEAM, I SWEAR TO GOD MY RAGE'S SO BIG RIGHT NOW IM ABOUT TO SUPERNOVA IRL RRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>Queue for ranked
>Ready to get raise my pathetic MMR
>Teammates Tiny and Sniper spam missing calls, etc that are heard even if muted
>Whatever
>Go mid, shit on Invoker
>Getting great farm, ganking, my items are looking good
>Tiny's been dicking around in jungle all game
>"Gyro, I stacked camps for you"
>Good shit. I follow him into jungle
>He tosses me onto a cliff with a dominated creep he force staffed onto it
>Make sure to let him know how nice his meme was while I TP away
>He tosses me again, which cancels my TP
>Tiny feeds courier down mid so I can't call for the other TP I bought
>A few minutes pass, good guy DK comes to bring me a TP
>Tiny cliffs him with me, DK uses TP to save himself
>Still stuck on the fucking hill
>Enemies check jungle, since I've been missing for almost 5 minutes
>XP from a kill on Invoker keeps me from getting an abandon
>Stay there for about 2 more minutes
>AM brings me a TP, I tele off safely
>7 minutes of no farm shows as enemies are now 3 levels ahead of me
>Another 24 MMR gone
HAHA MMR IS A DIRECT MEASUREMENT OF SKILL.
Match ID is 1758384648. Game is still fresh if anyone wants to make webms.
Cheap item thread
I figure I may as well make a thread about glorious cheap items, particularly for the early game.
So here's an item I really like: Quelling Blade.
Building it on melee is obvious, but I tend to build this shit on ranged heroes too. Reason being: I am a woodcutting addict. Obviously a quelling blade's value rises if the enemy has a Nature's Prophet (although tangos will do too) but it has so much more fun shit than that. If you're top lane as Radiant, Quelling Blade will give you access to a fun top pull where you pull the large creep camp into your side of the lane. In general when pulling, quelling blade can give you a double pull where you pull a second camp into your first one and get an entire wave of lane creeps to vanish, but that shit is tricky to time.
Quelling Blade is also often basically my shadowblade. A few precise chops and I can hide in the middle of trees where no one can see me. And then I chop out and go SURPRISE MOTHERFUCKER and gank the everloving shit out of enemies. Dire top and radiant bot are both susceptible to some precise cuts that let you arrive right next to the tower from the jungle for some freakish ganks right where someone low hp thinks they're safe.
There are also lots of timesavers and special routes you can chop between trees. If you're Pudge, a Quelling Blade lets you be ten times the asshole and hook someone into trees where the only escape is through you (which you're blocking) so they're fucked. And a quelling blade often lets you perform great jukes in trees because you cut your way out somewhere no one was expecting. If you have tangos it can get sillier because they have no cd on eating trees but that shit costs gold per use.

Official TI Thread
It's that time of year when US West suddenly goes from the lowest skill server to the highest
Who will win it all?
Who will come out of the wild card round?
How will the group stages go?
Is there a dark chinese horse looming for the apparently dominant western scene this year? Or will secret meme their way to victory playing techies? Will Na'Vi disappoint their fans for the second year in a row? Will C9 come in second?
Discuss.
the kids like that music rite
Really great TI, ending ruined by bad musical act. Peruvians and Americans make lots of memes and join together in ridiculing the akward scene, cameramen zoom out and in really fast to try and manufacture hype and it never pans to the crowd except for one small group of retardedly flailing preteens surrounded by a lot of people standing still. During one pause, crowd cheers and hopes it is all over but NO
Silencer pls

Put your mask back on
Peruvian dj

Etc, etc
Catsby Doto
Since I haven't played much Dota recently and want to get some games in before the actually main event for TI starts tomorrow I'll be playing Dota 2 Reborn unranked all pick for most of the day and will queue with anyone if they are interested in playing some dota. I'll try not to rage at anyone and will give out tips to anyone who wants them and I play on US W or E. I'll be in the 8chandoto channel in game chatting as well.
Here's a cool idea.
If an observer ward (friendly or enemy) is in the area of effect of your sentry ward (not gem or any other form of true sight) you can pick it up as an unstackable "Uprooted Observer Ward" which has 75% vision of a normal observer ward when used.
Or, you could eat it with a tango cuz i guess they taste good or whatever.
LOPUNNY'S MEDIUM-SIZED FUCKIN' ANNOUNCEMENT
Alright my dear hate chan shitposters, tryhards, casuals, feeders, and winners?, listen up. Starting today on the main client (MAIN FUCKIN' CLIENT) there will be Daily Stack, groups of however many people choose to participate will do Unranked All Pick and either pubstomp or fail horribly. This will be at 6 P.M, 12 A.M., 6 A.M and 12 P.M Central Time from now until Icefraud listens to the plebbit whiners and nerfs my Techies, at which point I will quit doto forever. At 30 minutes till stack time, I will make announcement posts ITT and ingame in the guild chat. This will be good fun, but I want to win, too, so let's all try our best and not do any joke builds or heroes you haven't played before. Using mic is strongly preferred, but not required. In case of more than 5 people showing up to these things(unlikely, but you never know. C9 could win TI) another stack will be made.
Do note that grouping usually puts you in queue with other groups, and usually you face better people than in normal solo queue, so make an attempt not to be too much ded weight if you need to be carried.
Roles like pos1/2 carry, support, initiator, etc won't be assigned forcibly, but hopefully through pregame discussion and ingame experience we get to see who is good at what and who wants to play what.
In case of "le nobody wants to play support" meme that has been brought uo to me in Steam chat, I will be fine with picking support.
In semi related news, I just started a Twitch. I will probably be on it ~16 hrs a day since I am currently living dat neet life, so feel free to watch if you want to see me:
>miss dendi hooks
>land dendi hooks
>rage
>get bashed by roshan
>get bashed by bara
>plant mines
>cry
>feed
>carry
>deward ward spots
>spout memes that are dank and not dank
>ward ward spots
>fail micro
>do hero voice impressions badly
Also.will be taking hero/lane requests of any kind unless they are Morph or Meepo. Trust me, nobody wants to see me play those guys.
female tits so people actually click on this shit
Serious question
Why don't more people play Wisp?
I just started practicing with him and holy shit he's so much fucking fun. Challenging to play in the middle of teamfights but so fucking rewarding. Absolute presence and farming potential, and an instant gank squadron wherever you want. Why is he 105th most picked?
Low MMR Captains Mode
What is the lowest MMR when captains mode isn't a losing proposition?
I calibrated at sub1k MMR because I was a retard who went into ranked during his second month playing, and I've just now learned enough to be able to slog my way out of it (1200 now).
I want to play captain's mode, but the thing is that at this MMR, nobody understands how pickbans should work (and yet they all fight over instalocking captain). The question is, how much all pick do I have to play before I can queue for CM and not feel like killing myself?
MAGICISANABOMINATION
>magic res passive
>voice lines are fun to repeat
>ungankable, built in blink dagger
>built in Diffusal Blade
>cool cosmetics that I wish I had
>hates magic
>ez to LH with
But, I am squisher than a fuckin Rylai caught naked and alone at a ward spot. Seriously what the fug. If I take one autoattack from a harassing support I have one hp and can't farm.
>implying people pick supports in the trench
You get my point. I don't understand how to get to the grorious Anti Mage Late Game everyone always talks about because I can't fight and can't farm. Literally dies if you sneeze on him. It's like TA no matter how many replays guides and vods and shit I watch i just can't get it. Help.
Coaching thread
Alright, fuck it. Here goes:
COACHING THREAD
Do you suck at doto 2?
Is your mmr >5k?
Ask here for a shitty coach, who is probably worse than you!
I will be willing to coach some scrublord with my basic 4k-ish skills, specialities in farming and Meepo the OP-as-shit-mancer. I suck shit tho
If you either want to be coached, or want to coach post in this thread.

Custom Games
What are some of the dankest custom games out right now besides Overthrow and Pudge Wars?
I'll post my top three that are well done but they are kind of dead on users and player base since no one really knows about them:
Touhou Defence of the Shrines
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=310066170
This one implemented it's own touhou models to replace Dota heroes along with various new icons and new items. It's pretty much an entirely different MOBA with a different map but I think it's possible to play on the Dota map. It's similar to where there are three lanes but only two different raxs then the ancient. I played around two or three games of it and it seems pretty fun the roster of touhou girls is around ~20ish probably a little less but they all seem different with their abilities and can be a nice change of pace from Dota. I'm not sure what the meta is for the game and how long matches usually take but they took around 25 mins or more last time I played it.
Custom Hero Survival
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=302247405
A PvE Custom Game where you select one Dota hero then choose their spells in the game leveling them up over time and choosing which ones would be best against creeps, up to seven I believe, and you have to survival against various mobs of creeps. They have a new set of items within the game and the creeps have different spells and abilities making it some what difficult, including a few bosses. I usually just play this by myself when I'm taking a Dota break since it's not a team game since everyone faces different mobs in their own little square and it continues until you die or the last boss (I never made it to the end yet so I'm not sure). Pretty fun time sink if no one else is online and you just want to play something for a while.
Sniper Duels
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails?id=468785151
Uses the same map as Overwatch but the item delivery is only in the middle and there is no kobold throwing out gold for people or giving out XP. Everyone is Sniper in this game mode and you have five abilities: Assassinate, Machine Gun, Shotgun, an escape, and a shield. Along with a few silly items but it is extremely fun just a bunch of people running around as sniper shooting bullet projectiles around the map trying to kill each other until they get to 20 kills. This would probably be great for an inhouse or getting a group of friends to play but I haven't managed to get a lobby of ten people yet.
A serious question
Excuse my manners but I wanna get to the point.
I am new here, just dicovered that a Dota 2 board exists in 8ch and I'm very glad about it, but browsong through some few threads I couldn't avoid noticing the community seams both, low in population and mmr. And I mean REALLY FUCKIGN LOW.
I'm not here to troll or piss off anybody, I'm just curious on how many of you guys are actually good at this game, (I consider myself average (at 4.3k mmr) or for some reason this community is composed mostly by 2ks or lower as it seams to me.
Again no intention to offend anyone.
PSA On Behalf of all IO Players
If I teleport you out of a gank and save your life, and the spot where I teleported you out is near an area where you can scroll tp too, buy a TP, use it and get within 1700 units of the relocate spot so I can tether to you and escape the gank instead of letting me die.
The following are some commonly used codewords for people not familiar to having an IO on their team:
>IO stop feeding
This is a codeword for IO please steal all of my kills so your score looks like you're a carry. And yes I can steal all of your kills with the spirits.
>IO why did you take me into that battle I could of died
This is a therapy exercise to get you over your fear of winning games.
>IO why the fuck did you drop me in the enemy fountain
Perhaps you're just stuck up and need to get out more.
And remember folks, a good early game wisp combo can beat most heroes 2v2. Don't be a pussy.
Tradin'
Alright. Didnt see one made, so I will start a trade thread. I ask trade channels all the time, but they are all spambots and peruvians. So here goes:Arteezy is the best dota player I have ever seen. He's the X factor that makes a team unbeatable. If you have him on your team you know until the very end of the match that it won't be lost until it's over. His mechanics when playing mid will win you any matchup that is even. If he's got even the slightest advantage he will take it and carry the game with it. If you have him on your team you will always want to have him carry aegis because he will have the highest impact on the teamfight. If you watch his perspective throughout the game you will find that he is constantly watching every lane. He's not only a mid player. He's a team player. He is the heart of the team. He is Arteezy.
Headcount Thread
The purpose of this thread, unlike on other smaller boards, is not for uid spam to get into top 25. The purpose of this thread is to see how big this board is. I am considering starting a SRS(read: play to win. Everyone buys at least one ward if they have a riki, no Youtube builds, voice communication, etc) series of inhouses that would be held daily at different times to ease participation for everyone, but looking at the board posts and everyone's steam profiles I suspect people may just be getting busy as of late, whether it be other games, normie jobs, normie friends/boy/girl/friends, whatever. Lurkes, tripfags, namefags, if you browse this board in any sort of regular capacity I need you to post ITT showing that you exist, and secondly post times that you are availible.

What does a support do? I support wins the fucking game. All strategic value in a game is on the backs of the support. Where should my carry be farming? Should I stack and pull, or would that risk my carry too much? Where should I ward? Where do I want the next team fight to happen? What towers should we be focusing? Who should I gank? Who should I put pressure on? Should I buy smoke, dust, sentries, wards, or a bottle for mid?
Carries can't carry if they don't get good farm. There's a very low skill cap for carrying. Once you get to a certain level of skill with carrying, your win depends on your farm vs. their farm, not how well you play. And that farm, that early game, is in the hands of the three or four supports who will be playing a game before gold advantage becomes a predominant factor. They are playing the game when it is skill vs skill, not economy vs. economy.
Supports. Make. Shit. Happen.
Reminder that the outcome of 90% of your matches are predetermined as soon as you accept a match.
>Single Draft
>Choices are Nature's Prophet, Slardar, Slark
>Pick Slark, teammate Silencer bitches at me for picking a carry
>Tell him that all of my choices were carries
>Says I should have picked Slardar
>Him and Axe try to tell me that Slardar isn't a carry
>Tell me I'm a fucking idiot and both agree to report me before I say a single word
>Give enemy AM a free lane
>Steal last hits from jungle Axe until he leaves
>Buy Rapier as first item
>Feed it to the enemy team
>Spend the rest of the game dicking around, pouncing into ward spots, spamming chat, and feeding the enemy team
>We still win by a landslide
>Low tier MMR escape heroes
I'll start with Slark
+leap serves as one of the best initiation/escape abilities in the game
+q=fuck stuns
+his passive works well at any point in the game
+shadow dance is possibly the best escape in the game, as well as being generally awesome with its health regen
+ganks are ez
+works extremely well in solo offlane because he doesn't necessarily need early farm to be effective
+leap+AA stun=dead scrub
+ult give a very personal middle finger to wards and chronosphere
-pre level 6
-worst base stat gain in the game
-fuck silencer
-fuck earth spirit
-fuck chain stuns and nukes
=I consider sange and yasha core on Slark
=blink>shadow blade, fight me
=I level e and q equally done games, it works out
=diffusal does not work as a replacement to skadi, but is a good supplementary item
=bkb isn't always necessary against scrubs
That's about all I have to say on Slark
Prizepool distribution
I don't remember reading anything about this, but Valve aren't going to be so stupid as to give 5 mil again to the first place are they?
No one needs that much money, and spreading it out more evenly rewards teams 16-5 for just making it to TI, which will help team stability.
Opinions?
server issues
out of the past 4 games I've played, 3 of them had everyone suddenly disconnect in the middle of the game leading to "poor network conditions" and the match not being scored. Anyone else having these issues? They've been going on for the past two days.
SEA server here. It's usually not this bad.

Wew, this board apparently has stuff that goes waaaay back to 6.82 on it. Interesting. Time for a new favorite hero thread. Post/R8/H8.

I got stomped by an LC that had over 1000 extra damage in the first game of doto I ever played. Since then I always wanted to get a piece of that action but have never been able to drag games out that long to get that many duel wins, hehe. Plus, I've been kinda all over the place with hero picking lately. Recently got a Compendium Arms of the Onyx Crucible, so I should start playing er more.
Hey guys I'm climbing MMR pretty well as Jug and PA I'm roughly winning games on 3:1 ratio. So Now I've been learning to play Necrophos on pub. I've played him in ranked a few times losing twice and winning once. Now I am wondering if Necrophos is the kind of character where you can 1v5 people like PA and Jug.
Should I just stick to him in pub and continue to climb mmr but start playing him in ranked at a certain mmr?
holy shit, shadow pool is very fucking much real
10 game losing streak, in each and every single one i got feeders / gameruiners.
Just now i tried to play game, marked mid as WR, and i get 3 stack of germans or something, of which one was ursa who went woods with 12 tangos and stout shield and silencer instantly sit on my mid without saying anything
i just fed couriers down mid lane
fuck this game honestly
Dota 2 Hate thread
What you hate on dota2?
>tfw used to b dota1 player in garena and dota2 is full of newfag cancer
>mfw someone buys orb of venom and attack modifier doesnt stack (ursa newbs)
>mfw valve will nerf a weakling like oracle while buffing other carry and tank heroes even more
>mfw valve dota2 has unfixed bugs on items stucking in the cursor like soulring or TP… since 2013 just like valve's torchlight1-2 item drag bugs
>mfw lots of pathfinder bugs while in the trees
>mfw feed carries who dont have any regen items but boots and doesn't even know that attacking the enemy heroes pull creeps for him to hit.
>mfw lifestealer, doom, enigma, furion cannot solo farm at level 1 and fucking feed the lanes
>mfw I always become a carry-support and all are teammates are like 0/5/0 KDA and level fucking gap-ed
>mfw enemy heroes pick tanks like WK, Axe, Lifestealer and some russfag picks Sniper will feedthemid
So where are the oldfags? do they still dota1 in RGC and garena? why is dota 2 so cancer?
Who the fuck is QoP good against? She's awful against:
-Tanks
-Those that can silence her
-Those that are smart enough to buy BKBs
-Anything with a stun
-Anything that deals damage over time
-Those that can attack her while out of range of her feminist ear assault
-Those that have abilities that lock on
-Those that are magic immune
Is the problem on my end or is she just trash?
ITT we post heroes we want to be good at but suck balls at. C'mon, I know you are all 10k mmr and everything, but everyone has That One Hero that they just cannot get. For me, it's Lanaya. I like her shield, I like Meld's unique use of invis, I like shit talking people that think they are better at Techies than I am and then Refracting the mines, and I like traps but I feed every single time I play her. Squishier than Antimage, who I also suck with, does no damage early game, psi blades make you have to be EXACTLY lined up or else they dont go off, and by the time I can farm deso or mael, I have already died a billion times. Everyone else I see goes godlike and three-shots eve the tankiest Centaurs, I dunno how to git gud.
Honorable mention to Antimage
New hero ideas
Post here ideas for new heroes. Good ones only please.
Gravaton the Smasher
Q
Gravaton smashes his mighty hammer, with a 200 knokckback effect and 20% movement speed reduction for a brief period.
100 mana.
W
Gravaton sends a shockwave toward a unit target. Units in the affected path are lifted into the air where they may fly around in any direction for 3 seconds.
75 mana
E
Gravaton smashes the earth at a chosen location, and affected units are pummeled underground for 3 seconds. Units underground may fight with eachother as normal, but cannot interact with units above ground.
Units coming out of the ground are affected by debuff "DIRT": Movement speed is reduced 15% for 2 seconds and heroes leave a trail of dirt behind them for 3 seconds.
125 mana.
R
The entire screen of all enemies within a 800 radius flips upside down for 5 seconds.
150 mana cost
How about they add a new report option labeled "faggotry", that allows you to seek justice against the Support that didn't stun and left you to die before telling your team to report you for dying, or the ranged support that took all your farm and got you killed twice before saying "X HAS NO ITEMS JAJAJAJAJAJA REPORT" or the Pudge that hooked you away right as you were about to snag the game-changing triple kill? And how about, if it turns out my team is full of these "faggots", the game doesn't force me through around 3 hours of low prio bullshit because I got sick of these aforementioned individuals being in every single game I try to play?
Leaked immortals?
Reddit claims to have found leaks of the second set of immortals.
Keep in mind that these images are from two weeks ago, and Valve did say that they were still touching up on them.
What are your thoughts? I personally think they're pretty bad, except for pic related and MAYBE Anti-Mage's.
Worst hero
Let's talk about who is objectively the worst hero in dota.
My vote goes to this fucking dumbass.
>Squishy as shit for an initiator
>can't lane anywhere effectively
>can't jungle or roam effectively
>literally useless till lvl 6
>barely useful till he farms a blink dagger
>sucks at farming
>can barely initiate without blink
>threatening on his own only to the squishiest of supports
>his only redeeming feature is his ult, which is mediocre as far as disables go
I can't think of any reason to pick Batrider over someone like Centaur for example, who adds much more to his team, is a much better initiator, and has way more survivability.
Hello, /dota2/. I just wanted to let you know that I'm the new board owner of >>>/kind/, and I'd appreciate it if you'd take the time to drop in and say hello. It's not really devoted to the discussion of topics pertaining to vidya, but I think kindness is or should be a virtue valued by all, irrespective of our interests or hobbies!
Check out our vidya thread: >>>/kind/251
Alright, its Dildo Baggins with a big fukin announcment.
Not really. I just want to dedicate a thread to user made Hero guides/tips and tricks. Item tips to heroes, skill builds and general dota tips can go in this thread.
I will start out with a small meepo guide from me, I'm by no means pro, or even good. Just a 4k scrub, but here's what I've learned from approximately 200 games of meepo, in various brackets. my most recent being the game where I broke into 4k.
So here goes:
Skillbuild: Net or Poof first is really situational. Net can help secure a first blood at runes with another 2 seconds to beat on a poor dude, but W is good for securing lasthits in a bad lane, or even harass and lasthit against melee opponents.
There is one undisputed point to building meepo, and that is: POOF SHOULD ALWAYS ALWAYS BE MAXED FIRST. You will have 1 point in Net and Geostrike by the time its maxed, but never more. Poof always maxed first. Then, it personal preference if you want to max Net or Geostrike. I like Maxing geostrike for faster farming and killing, but you might need more Net against mobile opponents or fast ones. Level ult at every chance.
Item builds: First items that are good include:
Starting items: Whatever mix you like best of these: Tango, Shield, Branch, Salve, Ring of Protection. If you're going mid you can get a poor mans shield and make team giff tangoes.
Early game: Treads, Bottle, TP SCROLLS. Tp scroll is important. Getting kills on dumbasses who dive under tower is awesome.
Core items: Aghs, Blink, Boots of Travels, Scythe of Vyse.
Flavor items: Ethereal blade, Etheral blade, Etheral blade, Skadi and Diffusal blade. Did I mention ethereal blade? I love etheral blades.
Avoid these items: Vlads, Heart, Assault Cuirass, Mekanism, any items that don't provide agi or str. Vlads is an item for any of the supports to get, and assault is for your position 2. Mek and Heart is just plain bad.
Playing the Meepoes.
Laning: Meepo is a strong laner from level 3 and on. 4 seconds of small aoe disable and a 160x2 nuke is pretty good. Use the usual stuff like pulling creeps towards you, actively denying to keep the lane in place. Don't poof for lasthits unless you have to. You don't really want to have to sit with both meepoes in lane. Stack jungle camps, go for runes, go gank if you feel its safe enough. DON'T DIE. Dying as meepo slows you down a lot. Don't be risky. Get a fast aghs.
After Aghs:
Farm the entire map After your blink, farm with everyone but the main Meepo, and then you go around looking for ganks. Ganks for days. Days for ganks. You gank and gank and gank. Almost noone can survive your gank if you bring the appropriate items. The typical gank avoiding heroes like Queen of Pain and Anti-Mage die easily to you. But you do have to be careful with the burst damage queen can deal. if you land the net she is usually dead. Do not gank if the one you're ganking is the only one visible on the map. Dying for a kill is not worth it. As Meepo you have a lot of networth and levels, them killing you gives them A LOT OF GOLD AND EXP.
Replay Review
Alright well, since a lot of the threads on here are about how to improve/gain mmr, I figure I'll try and do my part. If you guys have a replay you want to post so I can look at it, well here's where you do it.I wanna carry like they do on tourney teams

How to use Aghs on Morph?
Aghs now gives Morphling the Hybrid ability which allows him to clone and play as an allied hero which can cast all abilities except activated ultimates (passive ults still work). The Hybrid illusion has 100% of the original's health but only does 50% of the damage, you lose control of Morphling (it's a bit like Naix's infest in that regard), and you cannot use it while Replicant is active. It seems like Replicant is the better pick if you want to do damage with an illusion. So if anyone has ideas on how to use it, lets hear it.
>Playing Witch Doctor
>Get to about lvl 3 when internet shits itself
>Only one at home, no idea why this'd happen
>1000 ping
>Resetting router does nothing
>Team starts shouting for healing and wards that I can't get
>Know that abandoning will get me ~4 hours of low prio
>Force myself through a dragged out 40 minute game by just standing near creeps for XP
>Feel dead inside less than halfway through
>Breath sigh of relief once it's over
>Get 5 games of low prio anyway because my faggot team reported me
Calm me down, /dota2/.
team 8chan for TI5

TI5 invites announced.
Open Regional Qualifiers.
Discuss.
good riddance 6.83, majors, 6.84
hey guys remember the oracle patch discussion thread haha it was a good one right
http://blog.dota2.com/2015/04/the-dota-major-championships/
6.84 on the way, high-tier competitive dota to undergo some structural changes.
4 majors (spring, summer, fall, winter)
so probably slavladder, TI, ??? and DAC yeah?
that and static rosters.
is this good for doto or bad? thoughts on 6.84?
"Io, you panicked a lot and didnt tether. You made a breathtaking save-Doom play after he killed the fed morph solo, but you didn't have your lightrod up my ass the entire game. You are a noob."
"Doom, you got ganked in the jungle and died thrice before you got aghs. Also you didn't help us and you stayed in the jungle doing nothing. You are a douchebag and a noob."
"Troll, you are playing the most OP hero in the game atm and aren't carrying me, which means I have to carry. Noob."
"Who fuckin plays Earth Spirit? Noob."
-Gyrocopter, 3-2-2 @ 25 minutes in.
Foreseer's Contract
ded boardFaceless Void
I keep hearing about how broken/op void is, but I've played him a ton of times and I can't seem to figure out why everyone says he is. He needs a lot of early farm (MoM + treads at level 6), and his lane presence is lacking. I've tried the hand of midas -> battlefury build, as well as skipping battlefury for a maelstrom -> daedalus. Even if I get MoM and treads early, when I use chrono ranged heroes tend to steal. If I don't get kills, midgame becomes a joke too. How do I get good with this guy?MMR Increasing Tips
does anyone have any idea how its calculated ? i used to play dota 1 for a year but i sucked. last time i played i still couldn't pick anything other than sniper/veng/spirit breaker. then i got into dota 2 and thats where i got good. so when i played my first 10 ranked matches i got 7W/3L but got 2.5k. the retards @ 2.5k make it impossible to climb and 80% of the time they don't even speak english. fucking russians…How the fuck do I get MMR (2k)
So I've been on a losing streak lately and I've noticed a pattern. Every enemy team is the most cancer team ever. 5 carries, 4 mids and a carry. My team on the other hand usually consists of 2 supports, a mid, a carry, and a jungler or offlaner. Anyway, my teammates are always braindead retarded and attack up hill, get picked off even though they see the 3 heroes coming to rape them. What the fuck do I do in this god forsaken bracket? I support well, I stack, I pull, ward, whatever. I carry well, I farm, I GTFO when I need to and so forth. But I just can't seem to shake myself of terrible fucking teammates who are testing my ability of not throwing my PC out the fucking window.Farming
Hi, /dota2/,Your shitty hero ideas
New hero to celebrate Source 2.
C9 vs SCARYFACEZZZZZ 200 minute game
http://www.dotabuff.com/matches/1335163458techies general
Anyone else find techies relaxing? Don't have to worry about last hitting, if you're in danger just suicide away. You can play him with one hand while eating/fapping. Smoking into the jungle setting up mines all day is really chill. I do find that when I play a huge techies streak my normal dota play is considerably worse though./dota2/ Team finding
I'm looking to either start a Dota 2 team, or join an existing one, so I've decided to make a thread for myself and anyone else who may also be looking for teammates. This Fat Piece of Shit
New player here. Whenever I play mid, the other team always has either Sniper or Pudge. What heroes are best to counter-pick him? Every midlaner I've tried so far has been too slow or squishy to deal with him in the early/mid game, causing me to feed him and get reported by angry Russians.BKB Timing
I don't hear anyone talking about this, but it seems pretty apparent to me. Particularly from playing heroes like Troll Warlord.Report system
>Play as a normal player.Playing in the 'Trench' vs. playing against Unfair Bots
Alright. Lets see what /dota2/ thinks.
