Hey, /drc/, /monster/ here. We're starting to grow to the point where we might make it back into being in the top boards again like we were a long time ago, but a few users want something like our custom CSS back before we end up there again. I was thinking that, even if we don't get some kind of custom background again before we get up there, it would be nice if we could settle for something more interesting.
You know the dancing spurdos and so forth on /int/? I'm not quite sure how to adjust CSS so that this idea occurs, but my idea is various /monster/-related characters each having some kind of action they do in the bottom right corner of the screen continually. Whether it's our board mascot, Ammit-chan (first pic), "walking like an Egyptian," or a butthurt Seahawk harpy continuously tapping away on a keyboard angrily like the second pic, or a bonnet-tipping lizardgirl, or a red oni drinking sake, etc. And the full idea is for it to switch between them randomly like banners would. Now, I'm not asking anyone to explain how to drill this into our CSS necessarily, but if anyone's up for making a bunch of animations like what I'm talking about, tell me you're interested, and I can alert /monster/ so that we can tell you what kinds of things we'd like to see and so forth.
Despite these being relatively simple animations since they're maybe only a bit more complicated than the dancing spurdos, it would probably mean a lot to us if any of you were willing to help with this request by making quite a few of these. I'm not really sure how many of you are good at making actual animations like this rather than single drawings, but please tell me if you're interested in helping with doing this kind of thing.
