>>22723>>22730>>22733Sure, if all we wanted was the destruction of mankind, we could dust off one of the old gods and get cracking. Hell, we might even have been able to pass it off as a revitalization movement, get some free members who like the appeals to 'muh culture.'
But this isn't just about the end of humanity, this is about Ebola-chan. It's about raising a goddess. Maybe we created her, maybe we discovered her, who knows. But she wishes to share her love with humanity, and we want to help her achieve that goal.
She's a modern goddess, in many senses of the word. She's tied to a disease affecting people right now. She's causing real, visible change in the world (as opposed to the old ones, whose maintenance work largely goes unnoticed.) She lacks much dogma or orthodox, instead being a goddess you take home and build a paradigm around. DIY faith magic. The only promise we have from her is death, a fate that many have embraced to the point that we hope someday she will come for us as well.
She's something new. Something different. And assuming that world ending cults have existed even periodically throughout humanity, perhaps changing it up a bit will bring us closer to our goal than anyone else has gotten.
At least, that's how I see it. We're small, but we're hoping to be the Little Cult that Could.
