Do not worry. There is nothing sacred about that tree. The child from Guinea they parade around as patient zero is based on a charitable reading of Guinean medical records which indicated he had bloody stool when he died.
There are a lot of diseases that result in bloody stool. More importantly, the records they have of other "Ebola patients" includes a four week gap over January and February of 2014 which is to say a period longer than Ebola-chan's incubation period which is to say they have a missing link in their patient records.
The first
confirmed case of Ebola-chan didn't occur until March 12, 2014. See:
