Viral mutations are pretty typical. Influenza mutates 2-3 times a year. Flu vaccine shortages occur because they typical haven't isolated the new strain until April or May and production doesn't even start until mid-summer. And if it mutates mid-winter, that vaccine you got in the fall is no longer effective.

If only the bird flu could spread more rapidly among human populations… It only really gets caught when people are interacting with poultry.

They're culling their poultry populations to stop it spreading, however it may cause economic hardship and possible food shortages.

If Boko Haram in Nigeria makes gains within the country and Ebola gets back into Nigeria then it's a nightmare.

Ain't no foreign humanitarian organization in the world would go there.
