Now that the news has moved on to "more interesting stories", there's less people here. They weren't believers, they just rode the hype train.

Occasionally we get spikes in popularity, when a new Ebola happening hits the press.

Hey, Flu-chan's just under a lot of stress. It's not easy, constantly mutating to stay one step ahead from the health organizations. Now sure, she may not have the chance to go all the way with you, but there's no need to be bitter. She'll check in again in a year or so, just to see how things have been going.
