Lindsay Lohan has been admitted to a London hospital after she was infected by a rare virus.

The Mean Girls actress, who was vacationing in Bora Bora over the holidays, checked into King Edward VII's Hospital this week after experiencing fever, joint pain and fatigue. Lohan reportedly contracted an incurable virus transmitted by mosquito bites called Chikungunya.

According to TMZ, the 28-year-old was released from treatment Wednesday morning after her fever subsided. Since she's still suffering from joint pain, doctors referred her to a specialist.

As Celebuzz previously reported, Lohan knew she had contracted the virus during her French Polynesian trip but continued on regardless. She wrote on her Instagram at the time, "In good faith with good people. I refuse to let a virus effect my peaceful vacation be safe and happy on the new year all."
