ITT: Post what you're reading.
This is a book on political thought in the time leading up to the English Civil War. I'm half way through.

I will start reading Concepts, Techniques, and Models of Computer Programming once the semester is over, though.

I'm actually wondering what book I could read. I want something like a textbook and very informative with things to keep the readers interested, like using real-life examples or complex problems solved. I tried it with a book called "The Religion Toolkit" and I made it to about 100 pages then stopped. Anyone have any recommendations?

These were the first five books I found to hand! They're scattered about my desk right now.
I'm teaching myself Esperanto, and doing research into the ideological trends of the British far right. The two booklets relate to "third positionism" or "political soldier theory", which became prominent in the National Front in the late 1980s and eventually led to that party splitting and the creation of the BNP.
I'm not even a nationalist, I just find fringe politics interesting! After I've finished my article on Third Positionism, I intend to write a history of the "Juche Study Group of England and Wales" - a bunch of weirdos who worship North Korea.
The bible is just next to my desk, and never gets read. Everyone should own one, even atheists like me.

>>71The Sound and the Fury, Faulkner. It's really excellent but can be a bit dense at times, so I'm considering going on a Vonnegut kick afterwards. Recently picked up an anthology of his.

I'm first getting some background into Stoicism and then I'll be reading The Meditations by Marcus Aurelius and Enchiridion of Epictetus. I'm aware the latter is very short but I plan to study both and perhaps live my life (partially) as a stoic. If I get a kick out of it I might as well start with the Greeks. I have a list of books that I want to read but mainly I want to build an effective habit before going to University and for Programming.
The picture isn't related.

former Jehovah's Witness here, don't fucking read it, unless you want a absurdly biased translation of the bible that constantly bends to the beliefs of 6 old businessmen sitting in a big Brooklyn building
