So the vision of bronies animating their own episode is a pipe dream, no doubt. But what if they hired an animation studio instead? Too bad nobody thought of that since 2010, what with ponies being cheap to draw they should be cheap to animate as well.

The background artists and storyoarders should come included with the animators. The rest like quality-checkers, audio and voice actors are gonna cost you more, much more.
Hasbro probably pays Dhx Media and TopDrawAnimations only 500 dollars per person a month, considering most of them are freelancers and cheap.

So I doubt a 21 minute episode would cost more than 100k dollars, maybe even less. If you pay them 25 dollars/1 second for 21 minutes then that's 31.500 dollars. 15000 dollars if you want just 10 minutes animated.

Check em.

New Zealand is known for having exceedingly cheap off-shores animation.
The fandom could have probably stole Studio B away from Hasbro. Their animation was far better in season 1 compared to season 2+ where everything is tweened and moves like shit, like they never bothered to hand-draw animate it.

As for hiring Titmouse and Ankama… no that's another pipe dream. Those guys are real professionals in Flash and will end up charging you around 250-1000 dollars per second. So as much as everyone would love shaded ponies with amazing backgrounds, effects and proper well done Flash, everyone will have to say no.

Way wayyy out of our league.
Seriously you'll pay 300.000 dollars for just 1 episode. Which to be honest only looks cool, but the fluidity of the movements is still greatly watered down in heavy fight scenes as expected from Flash. You might as well give 2 million dollars for a 20 minute episode animated by Disney if you want true smooth character movement.

These cheap flash animators don't compare to something like Titmouse. I end up raging or laughing my ass off when anybody calls Dhx Media "professionals", they're as professional as all the amateurs you see on Newgrounds and Youtube, in some cases worse. Sure they can make things move compared to the rest of the fandom, but they're still a D-rated studio. That's like saying worms are a better food than rocks. They're far too out of their league compared to serious animators.
Plus you'll want an animator which studied timing, physics, believability and other things. Plus you need responsible animators which follow the animatic to a tee. Cheap animators have this tendency of not following the idea of the scene and often making it look worse.
