Avoid the: Furry, yiff, erp, hentai and any variation of loli tags. They're all a disgusting mixture of inexperience, creepy desperation and terrible Fetishes. Loli and all variations are useless because the real pedos found out about the tags and decided to flood it, leaving no room for anyone willing to play as one. Pokephilia is hit and miss, and in the chance that you do actually get a good rp going, best of luck with keeping them from disconnecting for no reason whatsoever.

Lately there's been this spambot who hijacked the "erp" and "sexting" tags so they seem largely unusual because I only get paired with it no matter how long I wait. I wouldn't care too much but I don't have many other tags for actual roleplaying - dirty talking and chatting is fun but if you want a story or more verbose, descriptive play then putting in "dirty talking" "massive monster horsecock" etc won't cut it.

I do ERP on omegle from time to time, when f-list gets to be too much. I've found that you can often squeeze decent enough ERPs out of even mediocre roleplayers if you're nice and do proper grammar since you stand out so much in the crowd. It takes a bit of doing to learn which tags are actually good though, and the quality of each tags crowd varies wildly depending on the time of day, too.
A basic rule of thumb is to just instantly fub on anyone not capitalizing their greeting - I've found that they're basically always bad, probably due to typing with one hand. Another useful trick is to keep three or so omegle tabs open, to search for more partners quickly while exchanging pleasantries with your matches since there's such a high turnover rate.
Since I'm a shitter I like the yiff, erp, macro and sizeplay tags plus a few others that are mood dependant. All of these can be used to eke out surprisingly good string-free roleplay. I usually search for an average of thirty minutes before finding a decent, engaging partner with three tabs though this does of course vary depending on your timezone - Americans have it easier.
