Darknest is a good site to check when it comes to ERP in MMOs.

Star Trek Online is quite notable for it, and to a lesser degree both Champions Online and Neverwinter.

It's surprisingly difficult to find in any other MMO.

Both. Many people these days don't play MMOs for the community anymore. That mixed with the stigma against ERP kinda keeps things under wraps more often than not. Except in the case of WoW's Moon Guard, of course.

The best I ever saw was CoH. I had this slutty supervillainess who could walk into the Pocket D and find herself a girlcock to suck pretty much every single night.

people typically don't want an audience. As for erp in-game then yeah your options are wow and find a guild for it or otherwise find a game with a darknest presence and float from single partner to single partner.

I could find a little fun on GW2 (the guild however was 100% reg circlejerk. No rp, no talk of it, nothing), swtor is completely dead for it as the social tools are just not there-

that's actually the big issue IMO. wow is the only mmo out there with addon support and that lends itself to flags rsp, prat and WIM. All things that make casual encounter rp possible. In guild wars and swtor I'm locked to one partner at a time, manually found over darknest and often annoying as a lack of UI customizeation means I'm constantly loosing posts due to how the char box works, or looking for where one post ends and the next begins because everything's the same color.

So in closing: wow is there, its easy to find. Others are harder and much, much slower

Rift has addon support(It's not that bad, really), wardrobe to change your appearance, player housing that is very expansive(and expensive) and supposedly had a pretty good ERP scene for a while, but it's hard to get into.

RP is easy to find, but I think people are too skittish for ERP.

I wonder about in-game hotspots, not for public ERP or anything, just a place people are likely to find each other, as opposed to having to network through Darknest.

STO used to have Drozana, for example, but it seems like it's been killed by both Goons and the redesign.

I used to erp quite a lot on TERA, but it feels like the majority that still do it, have become pretty exclusive to certain partners, and just flat out ignore everyone else in general, leaving any newcomers completely out of the loop.

Rift has quite a few addons, even a dedicated one for Roleplaying that includes a profile. You can also make extra tabs for the chat dedicated to whispers and such - not sure about for certain players, though.

There's a Vore erp server from Ekas Portal which is pretty good if you're into that sort of thing, it also has support for macro/micro kinks too and gets updated pretty frequently.

Non Vore erp happens there too but it's a little bit more difficult to find a partner for, but other than that, and a few snowflakes in the community it's a pretty good place.

The chat system isn't very well suited for ERP, what with the character limits and how the messages only stay behind for a very limited time.

The universe is pretty appealing though, and the ERP was one of the few reasons I played Starbound for as long as I did. Neverwinter Nights… man that game was quite a journey.

I do believe it still has servers that are still alive and have been alive for over a decade now. However, because Gamespy is dead and gone, the master server that it tries to contact no longer exists, so you'll need to direct connect to a server that you want to join.

There is a third-party website that hosts a server browser with IP addresses for you to manually connect to, but a lot of the big servers have custom content in the form of .hak files that you'll need to download. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I know that there's one server with well over a hundred or so people and it's practically built for adult and ERP stuff.

Fret not. I've been digging through the depths of my hard drive.

Sinfar was the name of the server. Try to search for "Sinfar Neverwinter Nights" on a search engine. I don't know how it is nowadays, but at the moment it's got 135 players online at the moment. It's basically a giant as fuck server with custom-built areas and maps that pretty much make it into an MMO.

The best part? The toolset used to make content allows for near total freedom when it comes to how you build your world that's hosted on your server. Scripts, buildings, NPCs, everything.

With the master server gone, the game itself has no way to authenticate your CD key. However, a lot of servers have their own scripts to try to preserve CD keys in their own way to prevent identical keys to be associated with multiple players.

A rare lurker posting here. I've gone and explored over a longer period of time several MMORPGS. I can confirm which are dead and which aren't as I regularly check back.

Pardon the typos in advance, but I've not had sleep in twenty-four hours.

1. World of Warcraft

You'll find tonnes of ERP here. Quality is much better on Argent Dawn EU than the NA counterpart. Goldshire is the hotspot. Be careful, however, as its popularity attracts a lot more poor roleplayers than other games.

2. Champions Online.

Alive and active. There are surprisingly many erotic roleplayers in this game, and they all gather at Club Caprice. I've yet to stumble upon a single erotic roleplayer thatn I can classify as bad, while I've met many decent, good and great.

3. Star Trek Online.

Dead, at the bottom of the sea. Don't even bother installing this game if you're looking for ERP. It doesn't even have an RP scene anymore, and those that remain are just too stubborn to realize it's gone.

4. Rift

I've logged on every noon and midnight to see if there's any roleplayers around the Argent Glade. As it was once known as the hotspot for ERP. I've yet to see -any- roleplayers. Classified; DEAD

5. Guild Wars 2

It has a declining RP scene, but no ERP due to a lack of available hotspots and the account tag. Most players shy away from adult themed RP since there's a singular ID that binds your online persona to the game, and nobody wants to end up in a shitty situation. Suggestion: Don't bother with it, at all. You'll spend hours upon hours wading through some of the worst roleplayers you've stumbled across anywhere, and the few good ones you'll come across are more than likely not into ERP or are too afraid to. On a different note: The HoT expansion will not save the game.

6. Archage Online

It's truly a shame I have to classify this one as: DEAD! While the game features a vast open world, races and everything a good RP scene requires, the developers gave no thought to the scene and hasn't even included an /emote channel.

7. EVE Online.

Do not bother. While roleplay is wide-spread, and pretty much required to play the game, you won't find anything that sates your RP urges. I hesitate to call it ERP, as it's pretty much just cybering in this game.

8. Wildstar

It is rich with both ERP and RP, but the barrier of entry is difficult. You'll need to invest yourself in the community, before you're even able to RP. In all other MMOs it's the opposite. But if you manage to get over the threshold, it's smooth sailing. Let's just hope you don't hate Aurin, if you're playing Exile, most players picked that race. And a portion of the community has the weeaboo streak, so tread carefully. It's -mandatory- to join the LFRP channel, but due to its necessity, it's also not a popularity contest like it tends to be in MMOs.

9. SWTOR

It has a decent sized RP community, but since the introduction of housing it's become increasingly difficult to find any roleplayers. I suggest you leave it well alone.

10. Final Fantasy XIV

It has an active community of roleplayers and erotic roleplayers alike. A fair share are suffering from the weeaboo streak. Give it a shot if you're interested. But I know of no ERP hotspots for it.

I play Dominion, so I can't speak for Exile-side, but I had a very welcoming experience. A lot of the RP is in the private/semi-public housing, so you will need to do some (light) leveling to break into it, but once you know whose plots are open for the night, they'll welcome you with open arms as long as you're not a total twat.

I came back almost a year after I left, found some bar rp through the Dommie WSRP-channel, and just pretty much did some people-watching and light conversation. By the second night, I had two pretty consistent partners for all kinds of play.

It's going F2P on the 29th, so you might wait a week for that. It'll be a clusterfuck once it opens, but it'll probably smooth over after a bit.

Unfortunately, the Exile RP channels is home to mostly tumblrettes.

You'll find them shaming cishet men, big busted women and on a regular basis "discuss" whether or not any of the main characters in Wildstar is a transexual or transgender. There have even been talks of a MtF Matria in RP.

I avoid engaging in dialogues unless it's strictly for the purpose of finding any active plots, and sometimes have to leave the channels in order to hide the zealous preaching. I've had no ERP encounters yet, myself, but I know a few that has. I wish there was a clear cut way to tell those willing to ERP from those that aren't.

I may end up rolling a dommie instead.

Is Second Life any good? I'm looking for a free MMO since I really can't afford any subscriptions and it seems like that's the only decent one.

If you're looking for free MMOs then you've got the pick of the litter. Most MMOs are free to play such as Tera, Archeage, Guild Wars 2, and Wildstar is going F2P pretty soon too. Those were just four off the top of my head, and I'm sure others will chip in with more.

As for the RP scenes in said games? Your mileage may vary, but there are a few posts in the thread that will give you a rundown on the state of most games.

Well, let's consider: You have to have a pool of customers, and on smaller/non-RP servers, that base of customers is likely smaller. Furthermore, locating the individuals that will pay you for the sex (as well as how good you are) can also affect how easily you can access your consumer-base. Being able to build up a large userbase is useful as well, as being the go-to whore will likely increase your income.

A few things to consider might be an hourly rate vs a per-session fee. If it's 40k per month, you'd have to average about 1.3k per diem. That's hardly a huge sum, even if you play normally. If your ERP skills are strong, you could be a pricey little whore.

Addendum: You'd also have to target your audience to be at such a level and with such wealth to participate in paid ERP. Granted, you might be able to work this angle in-character as being a high-class whore. You'd also need to ingratiate yourself with the community, which might take some work.

There's also the Auction House function, which, if you've got some extra cash lying around, can make you a fair sum if you're pretty decent with market manipulation and have a good understanding of your server's economy.

On the whole, it's certainly -possible- though how easy that might be is up for debate.

I've seen World of Warcraft being brought up as a paid MMORPG. And it is, sure, but there are ways to play it for free. In fact, I've been not given Blizzard a single cent for almost a year soon and I'm still an avid ERPer in it. There's quite a few into financial domination hanging around Goldshire, and if not in Goldshire one of the many ERP guilds. You can ERP your way to hold a subscription, either through prostitution or domming someone so hard they'll pay your sub.

You can also buy tokens, they're not that expensive and hard to get. But you need a professions at max and a decent farm route to get it. But once you've got one established, it's easy to keep up. At this rate, I'm earning 40k~ gold every week, just by logging into WoW once every day.

That said, if you just want to ERP, without gaining access to the ERP communities, a trial account is fine. Just get MRP and state in your information that you're on a trial account and hang around Goldshire. It's packed with people almost 24/7, with a few lulls.

Wyrmrest Accord has a low amount of people that explicitly ERP for gold because they're more purist and up their own ass - the only ERP most of them like is after five hours of romance or talking about their feelings. Your issue on Wyrmrest Accord is making yourself up to their standards - either way it's the dead end of an xpac and everyone is fucking heinously rich. It's just on WRA I'd say rates are lower because it isn't as established

I've noticed people tend to look down at me when I ask for some money after they tell me they want to fuck me. It gets a bit annoying sometimes because I don't even ask for much, and they are always the ones who approach me. This. Moonguard is pretty much the only ERP spot.

I've gotten quite a bit on my human chick just questing from 1-15 before turning to dungeons.

Every other server I've tried is completely barren. Argent Dawn was okay back in vanilla but it's a ghost town now in comparison.

My only advice is to avoid the level 1 characters. A lot of shitters and trolls make level 1's to mess around with.

Anyone else try their luck on Roleplay Heaven? Private wow rp server. GM commands, private phases. Pretty sure you can erp in private phases if all parties are cool with it. Just don't get too public, some folks get super cunty. Averages 80 to 150 people depending on one time.
