I've only played a handful of RPs since I'm pretty new to ERP (5 months experience or so) and have quite a few other chars, but I find the play itself super fun, I really like to give them choices on how it plays out, that way even as a pure sub they have control over what happens in the RP, and get to lead it into what they want to happen. It also shows that they're not doing something because I am forcing them to, but because they wanted it. Sadly I never got that far into an RP, there's so much more that could have been done, but it's mostly my fault since the RP itself was excellent.

Obviously asking what they're interested in while discussing the setting helps knowing what kind of tasks and rewards to offer, so I make sure I don't step a line and make the RP awkward, but that's just domming in general. Another limit is that being 'soft' doesn't really work with someone who wants to be uppity and rebellious, since this method is based on the fact that they are charmed and infatuated with her and do want to please her.

Out of the few RPs there are three that stood out. The first thing to remember is they aren’t interested in you, or even your character. Before you even get a message from them, they have looked at your profile (maybe), your pictures, and created a dominant they want to be owned by. You may have some things in common with their creation, but from that point on, your job is to figure it out what kind of creature they are projecting onto you.
