Were I younger, I'd have been in the other camp.
My experience has taught me this: 99% of the time, when told why, people react irrationally. They might have begun beforehand after getting rejected, whatever. I've told people how they fucked up and they exploded in anger, namecalling, pleading, melting into a puddle of apologies, or what-have-you sort of exaggerated response. And those who didn't explode, didn't follow the suggestions. They remained the same as before, not changing, not improving. I either had to throw them on ignore, or I had to explain and re-explain and re-re-explain that no, I will not RP with them again - only for them to come right back the next day and ask once more, until I played dead.
It was far more troublesome for me to say why, than to remain silent. In all cases, opening the subject opened a massive can of worms at the same time. I have to invest too much time and too much effort, with little chance of even a meager payoff.
The 1% of sensible people who remain, will pay for the others. Poor bastards they will be. I will not make exceptions on a fleeting hope of finding a diamond in the rough. I'm too old for this, and I've built up enough of a contact list that risking a RP with a newcomer is a luxury, not a necessity.

A lot like the biggest drama generators happening to be the one who repeatedly say they "hate drama". I know that criticism can't be forcibly pulled out of anyone. They'll give it up if they feel like it, of their own volition. I could pin somebody into a corner and hold a gun to their head; if they don't want to hand out criticism, they'll hold their breath until they pass out without a second thought. I have a lot of profiles, none of them on a character list with each other. Most have similar kinks but very different customs. Once in a blue moon I'll have someone call out out one of my other characters or message me saying they know the other profile is mine.
It's really fucking creepy. Like if I have a solid partner and they ask for another character or what profiles I have, sure I'll share them. If someone comes out of the blue acting like some F-List detective showing me their handiwork, it's fucking weird.

The worst though is when someone approaches me with an idea that I think is great. I say let's roll with that, and then they ask 'Is there anything you wanted to add?' If I say no, it's always a 'Well I don't want to do all the work' message.
F-List partners are mostly crap and a dime a dozen, so don't let it get to you. Just move on to the next one.

You're probably coming off as disinterested. No one wants to come up wit a fun scene for a partner who's just like "yeah, whatevs, we can do that" and won't add anything to the mix. Even if you the scene is solid enough to play without adding three twists into it, you can always just check out the kink lists for your partner and mention some shared kinks that would fit the scene, or mention you're looking forward to the scene as-is and it has potential.
Most times I've asked "anything you want to add?" or gotten the question tossed at me, it's more for a reassurance of interest than a desire for my partner to develop the idea into something bigger. It's a text-based medium, it's easy to read lack of feedback beyond "ok, let's go with that / sounds good / okay" as general disinterest.
