Like I said, I'm not great at html, but I've seen some pretty crazy profiles there.

Part of it is just familiarity. Years ago when I was first getting into typefucking, this was the first site I found for it, and I've stuck with it since. I did go and try F-list for a while, but (and this is probably more bad luck than anything) I dealt with more weird stalker types in the two weeks or so I was on there than I have in the years I've been on RPC.

Beyond that though, the bigger F-list rooms lag out my browser, and RPC doesn't do that. Also (F-list might do this too, dunno) RPC works fairly well with my mobile device, so it lets me lewd it up on the down-low at work.

The community is definitely part of what keeps me coming back to RPC. I've met a lot of really fun people there, and I didn't realize until I ERP'd elsewhere that the average literacy level seems to generally be not bad.

Seriously, I started playing Second Life a little while ago, and I was stunned at how bad a lot of those people are. I didn't think I was all that special at writing smut, but compared to those guys I feel like friggin' Tolkien.

I used to frequent it.

Might've been because I played worst gender in the Futanari Hotsprings but it all became so damned circlejerky that I just got tired of it.

Like the populations like 300-400 people.

And I'd been there for two-three years and saw everyone who I used to love roleplaying with quit and everyone whom I despised surging in popularity.

So I quit it from there and moved to F-list, though the same shit is kinda happening there, maybe I'm just shitty at making ERP friends I'unno.

I've never had any issues with Dav, so I don't know what you mean by calling him insane. Sure, there's anime stuff, but there's plenty of other stuff too-

And I find that, for me at least, it's a lot less leggy than F-list.

RPC is better than F-List for profiles, but it's worse in every other regard. It's run by somebody who has no idea what he's doing and the chat system is abysmal compared to F-List.

As far as alternatives for F-List go it's probably still the best choice, since there's literally no where else remotely worth mentioning for ERP. Anyway it sounds like cool profiles are really what you're looking for OP, so by all means stick to RPC. Years ago when I frequented the place before it went to shit I had an awesome profile I was proud of myself.

Roleplaychat and Roleplayhaven were great back in the day, but nowadays, the chat layouts are barely even functioning unless you pay to use basic functions, not to mention the userbase mainly consists of Tumblrina shitter cliques.

Half the profiles all have the exact same "ORIGINAL CODE DONUT STEEL, NO SMUT, I'M A BITCH AND TAKEN IRL DEAL WITH IT xD" bullshit along with edgy quotes and Tumblr gifs on them, not to mention most of them just hoard names without ever roleplaying.

They were pretty much the best places to roleplay before 2010 or so, but they went straight to shit after that.

As a former RPHer, I can safely say that it's definitely down the shitter. It was full of rejects from the Japanese Anime 2 room on Yahoo chats back in the day, but had a nice cluster of non-JA2 people. Since then, it's grown smaller because the admin bans people who don't RP with his shitty shota profiles, bans people who get more popular than him, and basically refuses to work on the site at all while demanding handouts.

Sadako has taken the crown from Dav when it comes to being a piece of shit admin. I also had a lot of fun people I RPd with on RPHaven but when the admin kept fucking shit up the others left and in the end being around was no longer fun.

Although yes, both sites got this stupid thing where "hurrdurr your profile must be fancy as fuck or else you get nothing".

Don't forget the drama. For a site of its size there's just so damn much of it. Even recently some asshole added some sort of tracker to the profile that keeps track of IPs and whatnot because "people keep stealing muh code" and other shit.

Doesn't change the fact that all a profile should need is a name, basic age/species/gender/orientation info, some character background/personality info and one or two pics so that your partner has a basic idea of what the character they're RPing with is like.

The userbase nowadays seems more preoccupied with making pretentiously fancy profile layouts and bragging about their e-friends than actually roleplaying, though. Just look how ludicrously butthurt they get about "smut", even though that's what the site was made for.

I put up with it because I've found a few good RPers there, but the dev's decisions are all either incompetent or actively intended to make sure non-paying users have a worse experience.

This is how a lot of roleplay communities are these days. I was relatively popular back on the few websites I used to frequent, but as time went on these little tumblrina kiddies that sunk into the playerbase seem to only want to socialize and talk OOC. It's a fucking miracle if I can get a decent scene going, but then they stop replying just as we're getting a nice plot going. It's fucking annoying and I don't know what to do or where to go.

What kills me is when you see someone's profile and 90% of the pictures are just different weapons, most of them clearly taken from the store page of House of Knives or something similar, and just going on and on and ON about how their character is a badass fighter.

And of course, they're hanging out in the PM only smut room.

Why they think anyone gives a fuck about their characters weapons is beyond me. Why they think that's even relevant when they way they act reveals they're clearly only there to typefuck is also beyond me.
