Haven't had this one in forever, do you do something during rping that you feel like most of /erp/ wouldn't look favorably upon? A lot of bitching threads and the like, but there must be something we're all guilty of doing ourselves.

The trick if to edge yourself while your partner is typing and then when it's your turn to write use both hands to do so, occasionally you can touch yourself for a couple of seconds but then you need to get back to writing.
At least that's what i used to do.

I've done that before, although I think my motivation is a bit different- it's more like I weirdly get off on the ERP equivalent of dumpster diving. It helps that a lot of the shitty people fall into fairly predictable archetypes, making it easy for me to get them to dance in my hand even while being the submissive one.
But if I'm going to admit my own secret shames, it's that I'll approach someone multiple times from different profiles, pretending to be new each time I meet them, just because I want a fresh start with them.

I play Damn near exclusively canon characters, since OC's created often fail miserably.
I also Make female profiles to see just how wildly different the rates of encounter are, but hardly ever play them due to the high influx of fucking morons.
Lastly, and I feel like shock collar training is needed to stop this, I use "would" way, way too fucking much. I'm aware of it and the word makes me paranoid when I fucking see it in anyone's text now.

Because 'would' is conditional. You only use 'would' if it's followed by, say, an 'if' or a 'but'. Would does not mean did.
eg:
"He would buy the horse, but he hadn't the dragons to spend."
vs.
"He bought the horse, spending the last of his dragons."
When it comes to RP, would is only really acceptable if your character decided NOT to do something, or you're doing like… A fight scene, in which case you're giving the other an opportunity to counter/respond/whatever.
