Outside of what >>51 recommended (all great choices, the Oblivion/Skyrim libraries make for long hours of reading and book-hunting), you should give Space Engineers a shot if you're looking for comfy.
>flexible difficulty through a wide range of options like meteor storm frequency
>slowly building and improving ships and stations feels rewarding
>new mechanics are pretty easy to learn once you get the basics, though they get insane after a while (you can make machines that build whole ships for you)
>turn on some calm music and zone out (the default orchestra soundtrack is nice too)
>multiplayer with friends is fun, you can build a huge station with a fleet of ships
Along the lines of Hotline Miami, I've always liked Teleglitch. I realized as I was writing this that the HL soundtrack would go really well with this.
>top-down fast-paced shooter with random maps and loot
>light crafting system that improves items but doesn't bloat the game
>fun to make tactics against enemy AI--trick them into getting swallowed by the void, blow them up with nailbombs, knife them all in the back one by one, whatever
>good to play whenever, should run decently on toasters
Gonna make a sticky for game recs while I'm here. I've got some extra dosh for games and I need some ideas on what to get.
