Who are we ?

We are the EternalArchive.

We are a small group of anons that tries to archive as much media, information and data as possible before the bomb called "TPP" hits the internet.

Once this happens we are planning to move our movement to the i2p network where we want to create a new community and share the files we saved.

What is this board for ?

This board was created after multiple /tech/ and /a/ threads startet to create a movement dedicated to archiving and everything that goes with it.

This board was created to be a central for technical talk, organization and shitposting.

The Story: with TPP and other recent events, the loss of much material is at stake. The fall of megaupload, as well as other hosting services, just gives this precedent.

What do? We will assemble various teams to archive all the shit possible, from every corner possible, and preserve it for future use.

We must essentially find and save everything we can. Each team will be tasked with a specific era dating back to the 1970s - preferably subbed, and in high quality (i.e. BDrips, for instance) but if there's no other alternative, what is around will suffice.

>Team 0079: 70s anime - original Gundam, the Mazinger series, Ginguiser, Aim for the Ace, are just the famous examples of what was around that era.

>Team 0083. your task is to find all the anime that you can find, from 1980 to 1985. Macross, VOTOMS, Urusei Yatsura, Dougram and Ideon are only the tip of the iceberg.

>Team 0087: your task is to dig out every anime from 1986 to 1989. Good examples are Bubblegum Crisis, Gundam ZZ, and Gall Force, to name a few.

>Team 0093: your task is to hoard all the anime from the early 90s era, which would cover 1990-1995. Some few examples would be Tekkaman Blade, Victory Gundam, Sailor Moon, and Cyber Formula.

>Team 0096: your tast is to cover what's left of the 90s. You saw a lot of this shit on Toonami, so it shouldn't be hard to find any of these.

>Team 00: you will hunt down every early 2000s (i.e. 2000-2005) anime you can find. Unlike the previous eras, these should not only be easier to find, but also the most numerous.

>Team OOO: as above, these should be the easiest and most plentiful.

In addition, I was thinking that there should be a team devoted to anything pre-70s. Since much of the material from the 60s and prior isn't exactly available (masters are lost, etc.), then there probably won't be much to work with to begin with.

Yes that helps, thank you.

Any word on how/where we communicate our inventories to to prevent a gross duplication of effort? I understand redundancy is a good thing to a large extent but without a better way to track what's handled and what's not we're not getting far

There's an IRC channel for the effort as a whole, but we could always make one for anime, specifically.

I'm gonna download as much as I can from the WWE Network, specifically the older stuff, pre Attitude, maybe to before Attitude went completely retarded.

Given that I live in the sticks, and my connection isn't the greatest, I download at ~1200 to ~1800 kbps. Not high, I know, but the stuff was transferred from old low quality film stock, so it's about as good as you're gonna get any ways.

Would there be any interest for this in /eternalarchive/?

Like I said, these are downloaded from the WWE Network. They're full cards from through the ages, current oldest one being 1975. I have five or six downloaded, it takes me a pretty long time compared to others because of my location. See screenshots for quality.

Some parts of fights are missing because the quality of the recording was so low it wasn't salvageable. There's a new bumper at the beginning of the files from the WWE. All errors in the file are from the recording, not me.

>>745

Oh, your right. They were those large vinyl-like records right? I remember some stores that sold those clunky players but never purchased one so I didn't know it could not record TV shows.

>>746

Cool, so are you uploading these to I2P or creating a bit-torrent? How can we get access to these?(do you have to pay a fee?)

e54cc6 No.752

>>751

The plan is to upload them to I2P, this thread is just to ask if it would be worth the while, considering everything I stated. I'm paying for the network access, and found a way to download the encrypted stream and turn it into a usable format.

I'll probably upload them any ways, to be honest, some of these fights are great (Ivan Putkin Vs. The Wolfman).

http://sci-hub.io/

A researcher in Russia has made more than 48 million journal articles - almost every single peer-reviewed paper every published - freely available online. And she's now refusing to shut the site down, despite a court injunction and a lawsuit from Elsevier, one of the world's biggest publishers.

For those of you who aren't already using it, the site in question is Sci-Hub, and it's sort of like a Pirate Bay of the science world. It was established in 2011 by neuroscientist Alexandra Elbakyan, who was frustrated that she couldn't afford to access the articles needed for her research, and it's since gone viral, with hundreds of thousands of papers being downloaded daily. But at the end of last year, the site was ordered to be taken down by a New York district court - a ruling that Elbakyan has decided to fight, triggering a debate over who really owns science.

"Payment of $32 is just insane when you need to skim or read tens or hundreds of these papers to do research. I obtained these papers by pirating them," Elbakyan told Torrent Freak last year. "Everyone should have access to knowledge regardless of their income or affiliation. And that’s absolutely legal."

journal subscriptions have become so expensive that leading universities such as Harvard and Cornell have admitted they can no longer afford them. Researchers have also taken a stand - with 15,000 scientists vowing to boycott publisher Elsevier in part for its excessive paywall fees.

"They feel pressured to do this," Elbakyan wrote in an open letter to the New York judge last year. "If a researcher wants to be recognised, make a career - he or she needs to have publications in such journals."

The site works in two stages. First of all when you search for a paper, Sci-Hub tries to immediately download it from fellow pirate database LibGen. If that doesn't work, Sci-Hub is able to bypass journal paywalls thanks to a range of access keys that have been donated by anonymous academics (thank you, science spies).

Someone please help us at >>>/pol/ out. We need someone with a LOT of extra external harddrive space and who can set up a bot to spider all these documents before they inevitably get taken down! If you can help, or know someone who can do it, please get to work. This could revolutionize the world and make scientific reviews freely available for everyone!

6fb198 No.819

I'm thinking this whole collection could be anywhere from 30TB up to 80TB worth of space. I would like to help out but I don't stand a chance, I have a couple TB worth of external harddrive space right now which is nothing near the amount needed to pull off a job like this. Kudos to anyone who does try to pull it off!

I also have David Duke's radio show backed up in this HUGE radio archive trove: https://archive.is/EIBBp

I'll check out some of the Youtube channels you posted, but I can't promise I will find the time to archive them. Channels take a long ass time (and a lot of effort) to download and upload them elsewhere. Plus the time creating multiple account registrations which takes multiple new email accounts and proxy IPs to throw off the admins who track down abuse of file hosting services.

Thanks for the info none-the-less.

Ok anons, we've got a board with willing anons and a whole load of archived shit.

Now we begin to share through i2p.

In order to reduce load on i2p network and make it more feasible to torrent, I suggest we select a compression software to use across all our torrents.

It would suck balls if we had to fumble between multiple compression softwares in order to torrent properly so let's just select ONE, popularize it, and stick with it.

To give you guys a glimpse of what extreme compression software is capable of, some fags managed to compress 395GB into 667MB.

Source: http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/archive/index.php?t-242212.html

Ok, here's some resources to get us started comparing some compressors:

http://www.maximumcompression.com/data/summary_mf.php

http://www.squeezechart.com/index.html - Use the excel spreadsheet

http://compressionratings.com/ratings.html

What I've found interesting so far:

MCM 0.83 - Scored highest free (as in freedom) compressor in squeeze chart tests

www.libbsc.com with www.github.com/vaibhav-y/bsc-gui - Very fast compression with NVIDIA GPU acceleration, nice compression rates, has easy to use GUI.

What we're looking for:

* Must be free (as in freedom)

* Very good compression rate

* GUI

* Good decoding times (generally decoding times are always shorter than encoding)

* Result must be bitwise identical

* Shell integration? (optional, just ricing)

I don't have a standard, really, but watch out using lrzip on files >= ~10x your physical memory. I am finding with ~16GB physical memory anything over 100GB is reallllly slow. Though I could be an isolated incident.

Only works with single files. The GUI is great except it DOESN'T FUCKING WORK! I downloaded Visual Studio Community 2015 just to build it (why the fuck doesn't it have binaries included?) and it builds but the compress button does nothing. It might work with earlier versions of VS but fuck it, no support for directories is a deal breaker.

Well, you don't want to see CP, and it's easier to watch over it.

So, yeah. We talked in irc for a while about making i2p textboard script. Simple as fuck, simple design (not eyecancer).

Who has some ideas, what programming language should we use (not PHP) and database of course.

One of the ideas was using Python with Flask microframework. But I want to hear other suggestions.

there is nntpchan which is decentralized. files can be disabled in config files to make it a textboard. if needed, a specialized node or network of nodes separate from the main network can be hosted too. i think you opened a thread there already. you can see it in action:

oniichan used to have an i2p address but that's down. also there used to be hiddenchan and 404chan nodes which were on i2p. i say try to reuse nntpchan or be compatible with the protocol so it can be decentralized easily.

This thread is dedicated to the archival of VNs, eroge, nukige and the like.

Examples of this are Taimanin Asagi, the Rance series and the BISHOP titles.

Some links to essential material:

And to start off with classics, here is the Sogna collections, rescued from the (dead again) Sogna Digital Museum:

I was wondering what anons though: should we divide the teams by era, like with anime/manga? Or should we do so by studio (i.e. Lilith, Lune, Key, etc.)?

Is there something like a huge loli doujin pack I can download? Something like 2gb of loli doujins? I have suddenly been hit by the TPP paranoia and I feel that I need to have some downloaded material just in case the internet goes boom.

Voice Anon from said 8/v/ share threads. Updated my pastebin again on Xmas. Now includes an intro to help people new to Japanese audio porn. Will add descriptions to some of the newer stuff when I get around to it.

Here's a link to a bunch of hentai artists works that I've collected over the years. Includes some popular artists like Arekishi/Alexi, Namaniku Atk, Nyanpoun/Null, Murata Range, Sindoll, Tsuji Santa, Urushihara Satoshi, Xration, Zankuro, As109, Butcha-U, Tsunako, Butakoma 300g, Asanagi/Fatalpusle, and more. Some just being fetish centered like a school swimsuit, bike shorts, monster girl, sweater puppies, or pantyhose folder. Keep track of this folder because, like the Voice Folder, I update it with new artists from time to time. It doesn't really include most of my /d/ related stuff besides monster girls and kemono art. Will reupload 5GB paizuri folder in the future.

So, good news:

All BISHOP games that have been released so far are archived nicely, except for a couple of Immoral Editions, but that will be fixed very soon.

As for Lilith, most of the ones with Kagami as the artist are archived, and the ZOL-BOX is ready. Gotta find the standalone versions, as well as any others missing.

I've also gotten every single issue of Comic UNREAL up on panda, plus individual chapters and series of my personal liking - translated and untranslated alike.

Now moving onto Comic MILF, Toushi Engi, Punch and the newest iteration of the series. Will post a screencap soon.

I've also backed up all the Sogna games I've been able to find.

Now, if only nyaa wasn't down, I'd be done downloading the MAIKA games already, but alas, it's down again. Thankfully, it's not that many (alot of them were never uploaded, sadly, for better or worse).

Anon, if you could kindly post that as a ghostbin link -because pastebin doesn't work in Mexicunt- it would be a blessing.
