I downloaded "e-books" from the old Bookchan (on AnonIB) and from various IRC channels around 2008. The collection is chaotic, but numbers in the hundreds.

Should I consider uploading those somewhere?

It should all mainly be fiction, with bits and pieces of nonfic (survival, science etc).

The Bookchan copies are mainly as image files that contain RAR archives of the actual text files. The file formats of the texts vary from TXT to EPUB.

The problem with archiving books is that the quality can vary way too fucking much. With a movie or game there's a base product with removed copy protection but with a book you need some asshole to take pictures or scans of the pages and shit.

Need to have some kind of standard, maybe a group of people that can transcribe book scans to text files.
