I'm not sure what happened to the tags, I'll look into that, and thank you for bringing attention to it.

As for the Subject, it's simply required to promote discussion instead of there being tons of one-file threads. The required comment is there for the same reason, but both only apply to the OP.

Well I mean it's /f/… you can't expect too much discussion. If people want to have a discussion that's great, but I think most people will just want to post flashes.

I wouldn't want to be contained to one thread either, so I will mostly be making "one-file threads" unless the flashes are somehow related.

Well, there doesn't HAVE to be discussions, it's just there to encourage it. If you just want to post thread after thread of one flash, that's fine as long as you're not flooding the board. I feel like if it's there, then we may be able to drive up interest in the board, and post numbers.

And you may find that I've figured out how to work the tags system, and implemented some for the userbase.

I agree. At this time /f/ has "18" active users, although I find that hard to believe, it seems like there's only a handful. I want to help increase the activity here.

/f/ is a fileboard which makes it different from other boards. Rather than having a few large threads that last months, it would be better to have multiple small threads that last days. If you want to encourage more active posting you need to decrease the lifetime of posts. You could do this by limiting the board to 1 page (if you can), and discouraging single-thread file dumps.

It's good to have larger threads for certain things however. Like if you are posting flashes that are part of a series, or a subject that would otherwise flood the board (H for example). This is one advantage that 8chan has over 4chan.

Yes I saw that, I like that you added M. You should add A, J, and H too.

I don't remember what A and J are, but I replaced H with the P tag, which covers all porn instead of specifically anime tits.

That's what the last owner did, and I really didn't like it because good threads could be easily pushed off by random dumps. I currently have it set at 10 pages though I may reduce it to five because of board speed. I think it would be nicer to have good threads stick around for longer so users can have time to discover them and get some nice SWFs, which they can later share, keeping up a flow of good content.

That's just the way I see it, anyway. But I'm always open to ideas for gaining more popularity for the board.

Anime and Japanese. Also H is distinctly different from P, you can't have a flash board without an H tag.

1 page is how it should be, threads are supposed to die. With 10 pages it's set up as more of an archive than a board, and there are already enough flash archives out there. /f/ thrives on repetition, as much as you may dislike it. Things constantly get reposted, different days of the week, different times of the year. If old things don't die off then there's nothing to post. This however does not hinder original content, /f/ is still one of the most creative boards, it might even be the repetition that inspires it.

I disagree. Good content gets reposted, bad content doesn't. That's what keeps the flow.

You make some very good points regarding page count. I will put it back at one for now, and see how that serves us.

Regarding the tags however, I feel H would be superfluous, when I could instead have one united porn tag. I will however bring back the A tag, and the J tag is not really necessary because it just means most people here won't be able to tell what's going on, and tells nothing of what the flash actually is.

H and P should be separate because muh 3dpd. I understand where you're coming from though.

Many popular flashes are J. This is a classic J flash.

While that flash could be suited by a J tag, it might be better suited for a M tag, which tells people that it's music. I can understand where you're coming from with the H tag as well, but I don't feel it's needed. If a ton of people rally up and ask me to change that though, I will.
