For some reason I think one of the Saubers will fuck up early, but other than that It will be an easy merc win.

I don't directly blame Tilke for the boring tracks, because even if he designs the tracks, he does so complying to FIA and FOM's rules, all on a completely uninteresting bit of land somewhere in a shit country. Making money is probably the reason for all the chicanes or turns like Sepang T1: slow bits of tracks with a lot of spectator space and some on-track action. And then you take into account the flat terrain located in the middle of nowhere and it become impossible to make an interesting track.

>Narrator: A new car built by my company leaves somewhere traveling at 60 mph. The rear differential locks up. The car crashes and burns with everyone trapped inside. Now, should we initiate a recall? Take the number of vehicles in the field, A, multiply by the probable rate of failure, B, multiply by the average out-of-court settlement, C. A times B times C equals X. If X is less than the cost of a recall, we don't do one.

>"It was pack racing. It was Las Vegas again. I'm just glad no one's hurt. Exciting as it is, it's insane," he said. "We don't need another Vegas incident. It's just a matter of time."
>"It was a crazy race and I'm just glad I'm okay," concurred veteran racer Tony Kanaan after finishing second. "People who criticise [the racing in IndyCar] should try this: pack racing at 215mph. There definitely is a fine line between pack racing and close racing. People have to understand how stressful it is for us. "

>The IRL was founded in 1994 and began racing in 1996 claiming to offer a cost-effective, all-oval alternative to the PPG CART Indycar World Series. The basic beliefs behind the creation of the series were:
>Cost controlled racing
>Driver Safety
>All-oval schedule
>Give a better opportunity for American drivers to succeed in motorsports and compete at the Indianapolis 500, particularly USAC drivers whose numerical representation at the 500 had dwindled.
>However, as the series evolved, it moved away from these principles, with more foreign drivers, increased costs and, eventually, racing on road courses and street circuits.
Now with the pack racing on short ovals with spec cars, even the aim of safety has been failed. GJ Tony.

I could see a penske, andretti, or ganassi getting him to do a whole season or more than just the 500, but I do think it's more likely that he would just do the 500 (as other formula 1 drivers have done).
It is worth noting that the 500 and monaco are on the same day, so that would make doing them both impossible.
Lotus used to skip monaco to win the 500 and still take the f1 championship, but that's not really feasible anymore.

In 1993 and 1994 Nelson Piquet got a one race drive for the Indy 500 (granted with menard, not quite the best team) because he hadn't been allowed to do much outside of f1 when he was competing.
People say the real reason he did it was so he could show up at Indy, outqualify, and beat Mansell in his own backyard.
Mansell had been competing in CART for 1993 and 1994 and failed to win at Indy both times.
I think it would have been fucking hilarious if he did, but he crashed in qualifying in 1993 after setting very competitive times, and wasn't competitive in 1994.

This kind of happened already. Not in an official capacity. Nigel Mansell went to Newman-Haas in CART for 1993 and 1994 after winning the f1 championship for Williams. At the same time, Michael Andretti went to Mclaren for 1993 vacating his seat at Newman-Haas alongside his father Mario.
In a shitty turn of events for Michael, the Mclaren that year sucked balls, had a customer engine, and he was treated like a second class citizen relative to Ayrton Senna and Mika Hakkinen, meanwhile Michael's former drive at Newman-Haas was the best that year and the year after.

>The 17-year-old has impressed in his rookie season so far, but also came in for criticism following an incident with Romain Grosjean in Monaco. Taking part in a joint interview with Bernie Ecclestone on the official Formula One website, Verstappen says he is determined to make sure his F1 career is a long one.
>Asked if he'd rather go for dinner with Ecclestone than a gorgeous woman, Verstappen replied: "One hundred percent.

>"You cannot learn much from the latter that has value in F1 - but you can learn a lot from Bernie. He has built this sport and is one of the most successful businessmen in the world. My career is more important than girls. You have only one chance here - and I am going to take it!"
>And Verstappen told Ecclestone he feels F1 is too technical and drivers should have less information when in the car.
>"Even for us young drivers the amount of technical stuff is too much. I would say that right now only 20 percent is occupied with racing, and the vast majority of the remaining 80 percent with watching over the technical stuff.
>"Do you know what I do to escape that? I tell my engineers that they should not overload me with information. We are getting way too much info in the cockpit. Sometimes I switch off the display in my car! I want to rely on my gut feeling. Isn’t that what made great race drivers in the end?"

Random fact: so many teams used Cosworth DFVs back in the day that there was a whole aftermarket of performance parts for it and different engine suppliers sold their own flavors of DFVs.

Fun fact of the night
If Hamilton gets another pole this coming weekend he will surpass Vettel. If he sets another fastest lap he will equal Vettel. Currently he is ahead on podiums (78 vs 71) and behind on wins (40 vs 37).
You know, I was googling him to check up on those stats and the shit in pic related came up first. I'm realizing these past few weeks that Ham is really becoming a douche. I don't know if I just missed this entirely since other people have been saying it forever, but all this jet setting and #rising the last year or so have finally pushed me over the edge.
So it looks like I need another driver to support. The list of drivers who aren't cucks (#2 drivers) or autists is pretty short so I think I'll have to go with Jenson.
It's not I'm being contrarian now that Ham is successful. If anything I rooted for him as the underdog vs Vettel since he's obviously the fastest driver on the grid. It's sorta strange that the big rivalry of the last few years (Alonso vs Vettel) was intergenerational whereas Hamilton and Vettel both started around the same time but haven't had a lot of direct competition in terms of being in competitive cars simultaneously.
Well that's all for my blog folks, here's hoping Jenson stays ahead of Fernando in the 'hip

So those are win rates of 27.2% for Vettel and 23.7% for LewHam.
If Ferrari don't fluke another win Seb will be at 25.3% by the end of the season. So Ham needs to get 6 more wins (and 2 WDC) to definitively out-stat Vettel, which is entirely possible.

the packaging of the red one is actually kind of clever. It's a straight shot with the driveline to the rear axle, there's tons of throughput for the aircooling, the exhaust ducting from the cylinders isnt restrictive, and it's in a good place to be a structural member for the front suspension.
It sucks in the obvious ways though.

The Isuzu 3.5 liter v12 has always interested me. Isuzu was owned by General Motors which also briefly owned Lotus (Lotus did a bunch of engineering for GM products, the 90s corvette zr1 is a lotus design). They made this v12 ostensibly for Lotus' works use. They tested it in the Lotus 102C variant, and lotus was apparently very impressed. It looks like a compact unit, and the cheeky hiding of the alternator between the banks is interesting.

when f1 returned to 3 liters after the embarrassment that was the 1.6 liter adventure, (funny how history repeats itself and people don't learn from it) Coventry Climax could not enlarge their v8 sufficiently to have it be competitive.
While the customer british teams waited for a 3 liter unit they either used an undersize climax motor, or a few other options.
BRM took its 1.5 liter flat 8 and strapped it on another of the same and said "Ta DA! 3 liter motor" to predictable results.
It was more powerful than the hackjob brabham repco units, but had a tendency to puke its guts out and was heavy, as two motors from separate castings glued together are wont to be. Jim Clark scored the engine's only win and then the Cosworth DFV arrived.

Let me share with you the world's most incredible motorsports cringepost, courtesy of plebbit.com/r/indycar/
http://www.reddit.com/r/INDYCAR/comments/3bna52/if_you_are_a_indycar_fan_you_will_do_this/
>TLDR: Stop turning off potential new fans by being so negative and start welcoming new ones by focusing on the positives of Indycar. Only then will the sport grow, solving most of its negative issues in the process.
>I watched the Fontana race on TV and it was one of the most exciting races I have ever seen. I can't remember the last time I was physically on the edge of my seat lap after lap. People have been saying for a while Indycar racing is great and that race proved it. Despite what you think about "pack racing" or if you agree with Carpenter or Power, it was a great race. (I'll just forget the fact that if Briscoe's nose didn't catch that car would've landed upside down, probably killing him or at least seriously injuring him.)
>Unfortunately, that's not what people are talking about. All people talk about when it comes to Indycar it seems like is the negative side. I know F1 is having its share of this and even NASCAR, but Indycar is on a whole different level. And for anyone who's kept up with the sport over the last 20 years, there is plenty of reasons for the negativity. But watching 3-5K people watch one of the best races I have ever seen was just plain sad and really put the writing on the wall unless there is a major change. But, there is hope and that hope lies with all of us! We need to stop highlighting all the negatives and start talking about the positives of the sport. I'm not saying we should live in some fantasy land where everything is fine and nothing is wrong. We just need to focus on more of the positives of Indycar. There is enough negativity in the world already!!
>I was listening to 1070 (local Indy station) and they were discussing the Fontana race and all the controversy. One of the show's hosts (I forget the name) made a really solid point. He said that regardless of what you know about Indycar, the hardcore fans, people like us, are very unlikely to leave despite what Indycar does. That 200,000-300,000 hardcore fan base will pretty much be there. But for the sport to survive we need new fans, the casual fans. People who don't necessarily understand Indycar, but are interested in the sport because of good racing. People who don't bring all the baggage of the last 20 years of Indycar. There are 360 million people in the country, surely we can at least find 1 million people who are excited about good racing!
Backmarker 07/01/15 (Wed) 06:31:56 f4ed8d No. 15332
>>15331
>And the point he made was that if a casual fan is interested in Indycar and check out the forums, all they will see is all the negativity. (I respect the hell out of you Robin Miller, but this includes you too!) Everyone complaining about how things used to be, about areokits, pack racing, Mark Miles, Randy Bernard, the schedule (yes it is terrible) etc. etc. Who wants to be involved in a a sport like that? If I was a casual fan and wanted to interact with other Indycar fans and only read about the negativity, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be a fan anymore. I know that there are a lot of things Indycar could do differently, that I would do differently, to attract new fans, but if you really love Indy car you will stop complaining and just start enjoying the sport for what it is. Just enjoy the great racing. Talk about more positive things (American driver winning Fontana!). Talk about what's great about the sport and not everything that's wrong with it.
>I agree there is definitely a place for criticism, and for the most part, this reddit page does a pretty good job of keeping things positive. But when I check out racer.com and the comments on Indycar, nearly all of it is negative. It's just really disheartening and it gets old. I feel like some fans will just never be satisfied unless it's the "good old days". I agree that there were some great things about the "good old days", like more open rules, more USAC drivers, etc. But some things weren't so great (drivers' deaths, only a few cars on the lead lap at the end of a race).
>But the "good old days" are gone and we have to accept that. It is a different era now and if we want to see Indycar grow with new fans we need to help foster them into the sport and keep things more positive rather than just talk about how things used to be and how everything sucks now. This is a social media world now, so what you see on that is how you are perceived, regardless of actual reality for better or worse. So to the casual fan viewing Indycar through forums and message boards the sport doesn't look so good.
>So I challenge each and everyone of US on r/INDYCAR to stop complaining and start enjoying Indycar for what it is!!! No more negative postings and rants. If someone has a negative post reply that they are hurting the sport and comment how they could say something positive instead. Maybe even downvvote it (too harsh?). Sure criticism is good, but let's talk about what we can do in the future and not about how things were or how things suck so much now. Let's make our sport look welcoming to new fans rather than like a cagey old cornered street cat ready to swipe at anything that comes close.
>I am 27 years old and a lifetime resident of Indy. My dad grew up on the Westside of Indy in Haughville, just outside the track. This is a sport that is in my blood from birth, just as it is for many of you. I want to see it succeed on into the future. I have some friends that are hardcore fans like me, but the majority are hardly aware Indycar exists outside of the Indy 500. And for people from Indy, that's just sad. Without more fans in my age group and younger, this sport will die in the next 10-20 years. Perhaps sooner. Indycar lost a generation of fans with the open wheel split and unless we can show how exciting racing is to my generation and the next one, not just Indycar, but racing itself may become a thing of the past.
>Indycar can do everything right, but at the end of the day for it to survive it needs to grow more fans and that starts with us. We can be the ground game. We can start the grass roots campaign. It doesn't take a whole lot. Just enjoy Indycar for what it is, tell your friends about the races, post upcoming races on your facebook page. Tweet about them. Invite your friends over to watch the race. If they don't have TV (like me) find a live stream and send them the link. I know that no matter what some people will never be interested in racing. But there are some who will be, they just need a little encouragement. Just get the message out there! Every fan counts!
>If the sport grows, it will be on a better channel, it will bring in more sponsorship, so there can be more money to spend on innovation, more teams and drivers will come, and it will snowball from there. Just about every issue with Indycar can be fixed if the sport's fan base can be increased. And that starts with all of US!
Remember: the shittier a series gets, the more insane, delusional and masochistic the fans get
TLDR: Indycar sucks balls thanks to Tony George, people are self-flagellating in the hopes that if they think it is better, it is better.

The best part is that they LITERALLY CANNOT stop mentioning Track Forum as their antithesis. They talk all day and all night about how track forum is negative while they are positive. Look at this shit:
>The only place I've ever seen constant negativity is on TF. Eventually I grew tired of hearing how everything was better in 1940 and came over here, this place has been a breath of fresh air, but I do see where you're coming from for sure. I'm definitely enjoying IndyCar in its current state, and coming from the Champ Car side of the fence and it took me a long time to give IndyCar a shot. I've accepted that this is what American open wheel racing is now and have decided to make the most of it and I'm glad that I have. I've even gotten some friends and coworkers into it as well. Once everyone stops trying to go back in time to grab what is no longer there, we can focus on moving forward collectively.
>I second that wholly. TF sucks, and this sub has been a massive dose of positivity. The sooner people accept American open wheel racing for what it is, the better.

So they'll say: "I'm ready for the downvotes, I like every change since 2003" as if they're reading the declaration of independence to the king, while surrounded by his guards–Except rformula1 is exactly like the above in that they convince themselves to like shitty things and that's the majority opinion.

>F1 could survive a disastrous engine formula, or stupid choices to slow the cars down
Why be concerned with what F1 can and can't survive? Why would you watch it if it was way shittier than it had the potential to be? F1 could probably survive as a spec series with dallara chassis and a whole field of ferrari liveried hybrids purely because of the brand value, would you watch it though? I sure as shit wouldn't and neither should you. Part of the responsibility of being a fan is to ride the ass of the governing body (even non technical sports do this *cough fifa*).
As for your second point, the changes to slow the cars down are not only directly at odds with the point of formula 1, they also interfere with the sport itself.
Overtaking for all intents and purposes happens when a car gets a better exit from a corner, and passes on a straightaway, when a car is simply faster in a straight line, when a car passes under braking, or when a car brings more speed through a corner and passes another in that corner.
The last one is a key element of what rewards skill in formula 1.
When the FIA makes changes to slow the cars down, they are almost invariably focused on reducing cornering speeds (reduced tire width, reduced downforce, reduced car width, grooved tires, etc.). This legacy of one certain brazilian driver has brought about the end of the finesse of in corner overtaking. Any further attempt to slow down the cars makes this even worse.

DRS is still, IMO, the biggest issue and by far. Drivers can overtake in corners even with the current ruleset, as we've seen a couple of times, it's just that they don't even try. They prefer to ride the ass of the driver in front and get a safe DRS pass on the next straight. It's just cheap.
My "favourite" move being staying behind the car at the DRS detection mark, passing it in a corner or under braking, then enabling DRS on the following straight to make sure whoever is behind stays behind.
I'm pretty sure racing would improve dramatically if DRS was disabled, even if we keep the current cars.

Might be interesting. There will be quite a few crashes because inexperience drivers will enable it when cornering and won't be able to cope with the loss of grip, but it might be a new strategic thing to take into account, as having the DRS open when cornering will put more strain on the tires.

The issues are with the surroundings, and Bianchi's accident showed flaws in how the extraction was handled, but for standard racing crashes, the cars are pretty much indestructible.

Marshal safety and the role of F1 race control isn't discussed enough. If Binachi's out of control car hit those marshals and not the tractor he would have walked away and a couple of them would have died. The safety debate would be completely different. That really should have been a safety car/red flag situation earlier but race control is too reluctant and rely on double waved yellows that the drivers don't respect, see Germany 2014. Also that tractor shouldn't have been out but the Japanese marshals are considered competent enough to get some slack from Charlie et al iirc.
>>15354
Wasn't there also a problem with the Marussia brake by wire? The recent news about de Villota and the control software of their cars demonstrates a trend here. I don't think it's a coincidence that two of the poorest cars last year crashed in the same spot.

That's the thing, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. If they signalled and a driver ignored it, the driver gets penalized, and if the driver crashes as a result, it's the driver's fault. OR you can keep having this conversation, put the drivers in closed cockpits, put bumpers on the cars, red flag every time a marshall has to do anything, and throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Until someone is trapped in a closed cockpit that has broken explosive bolts and that's the next hysterical thing.

np, please do read that audi article though, It's a concept that keeps coming up.
also this is a poignant excerpt from the forix article on ATS http://8w.forix.com/ats.html
In 1958, two more race casualties had to be mourned: Musso getting killed in France in a race won by Hawthorn, and then Peter Collins was lost to the world only a few weeks later at the 'Ring. The press writing on Hawthorn's victory at Reims was heavily critisized by the magazine Civiltà Catolica: it said the win meant nothing because it was built on dead men. These cruel words really got to Enzo Ferrari who went to see a priest on his intention to quit racing. He was told that "God gives each of us a way - sometimes it is difficult, sometimes it is easy. You have chosen the difficult way - you must have the courage to follow it."
Collins' death totally shook up the Commendatore. The Englishman had been very close to Dino Ferrari and to Enzo it felt like he had lost a son. On the brink of another World Championship he was willing to dismantle his Grand Prix team there and then and merely continue with GT racing. It was through Hawthorn that Ferrari decided to continue, the Champion-elect taking a hardline approach to the job. "I am responsible for myself and I know the risks. If I don't have a Ferrari I will race another car, but I want to race a Ferrari for the rest of the season." It all came good at the last race, with Mike taking the title from Moss at the last gasp but sadly only enjoying his glory for a short amount of time, getting killed in a road accident a couple of months later.
Granted Hawthorn died in a road accident caused by him blacking out (he had liver and kidney issues from drinking himself to death, I'm not kidding), but the point remains that he had a mature understanding of the risks involved that drivers today would do well to learn from (not that you can hurt yourself in bumper/f1/cars today.)

I remember the telemetry from this corner, and in a situation where drivers are supposed to be able to stop their car whatever happens, most were going over 150 kph around that bend. Sure, it's an F1 car and 150 kph isn't much, but considering it's a tricky corners, there are marshalls, a recovery truck and it's raining, maybe a slow 60 would have been better.
But the most controversial part about this crash is how the extraction was handled by the FIA/event organisers/medical team. It took like 40 minutes to get Bianchi out of the track and he had to be driven to the hospital, instead of using the heli which is standard procedure in the case of a head hitting a billion ton truck. I think the upmost limit written in the rules is around 20 minutes. This, and the delay before red flagging the race, the total lack of information on the crash (it took minutes before people spotted the Marussia, and even longer before they realised it was Bianchi) clearly shows a bad handling of the situation.
>>15356
>The brake by wire worked, but potato bro pushed the gas and the brake
Didn't know that, interesting. Isn't this, in some cases, the sign that the driver fell unconscious? I remember Massa in 2009 pressing both pedals after being hit in the head.
>>15357
VSC might be a good option. It sounds a bit like slow zones in WEC, and they tend to work quite effectively. It's a good step forward for safety, and unless it proves not enough, there's no need to keep talking about adding more safety and shit.

I don't think it's going to make a difference anyway. There's going to be a single fastest tire for each weekend, and all the cars are going to run it. Perhaps if the differences between the tires were big enough to allow for different strategies (I don't know, maybe make it so the harder compounds last enough to compensate for the loss of speed against the softer ones).
Depends if the rule about using 2 different tire types during is going to stay or not.

In addition to pseudo traction control systems brought about by the hybrid component, they also have beeps that tell them when to brake and when to lift and coast.
It's pretty stupid.
as for the tires, there should be enough of a difference, and there should be multiple manufacturers for the gap you specify.
In the early 90s they did this pretty well. There were two engine suppliers (pirelli and goodyear) and they were not regulated by the FIA (as in the tires could be developed in season and they could use multiple compounds and you could theoretically buy yourself out of a contract and switch suppliers if one sucked balls). sometimes one of the suppliers would be able to one or no stop, sometimes the other would.
This business of lift and coast, of fucking around with brake balance ad nauseum, of made to fail/degrade tires simply did not exist then. The drivers weren't always 100 percent on a balls out lap, but they also weren't running the race out of a calculator to circumvent issues brought about by retarded tires and a stupid engine formula.

Oh and more engines allowed for a season. Sure the engines are expensive, but so are the refueling rigs they want to haul around the world. The fucking freight charges for them must be at least equal to 2-3 additional power units over the course of a year. And give the teams more incentive to run in Free Practice so we don't see mileage saving by having the cars stay in the pits half of the session.
And what I mean by incentive is NOT points. Say a reward like "Excepting when accidents occur, run the car for 45 minutes every single session out of the year and you get an extra engine or two allotted to you penalty free."

Refuelling used to be allowed but not mandated. Only Brabham did it (1982 was the first year) worked out well in that it was risky but kept them slightly ahead of the renaults.
>Get rid of DRS, change aero and tire regs to make it easier for cars to follow in dirty air. Up the 100kg fuel limit a bit so there's less lift and coast. I'd be happy with that.
Agreed on getting rid of DRS. The aero and tire regs really shouldn't exist. The aerodynamic devices that create dirty air are the product of reduced ability to innovate elsewhere. they didn't exist when the engine formula was only limited in displacement
There shouldnt be a fuel flow or fuel limit.

I would prefer they didn't as well. My suggestion was merely a compromise that is slightly more likely than not regulating at all.
Again agreed on the other regs, just trying to find a compromise that the jew bastards will agree to.
I do think it would be interesting to see what happens to Tilkedromes after DRS is gone considering the newer ones have sections entirely built around DRS. "Oh wow, you mean there are two straights followed by slow corners, NO WAY!"

Refuelling rigs aren't even necessarily heavy. Brabham used to do it with an air bottle and a fuel tank. If it weren't a spec fuel rig setup, people would buy or develop lighter ones, negating the cost.
Look at the source of the problem. They save milage on the car because there's nothing to be gained from running it in all of the time in the session. If there were an ability to develop or test more, you would see more things being fine tuned, and thus more time on the track doing those things.

3. This safety equipment way a negligible part of the whole apparatus, its just a pressure sensing system, and a cutoff valve.
4. OT but its something that does bothing. Seeing as I do have close relatives form the EU.

If they let them in and make them citizens it is more people who can vote for them and keep them in power I guess. Also more people to spy on.
>"In our country, do we want to allow a means of communication between people, which even in extremis, with a signed warrant from the home secretary personally, that we cannot read? My answer to that question is no, we must not. The first duty of any government is to keep our country and our people safe."
>"For too long, we have been a passively tolerant society, saying to our citizens: as long as you obey the law, we will leave you alone."
The people in charge regardless of party are all from very, very small select groups of elite. The kind of groups who burnt £50 notes in front of homeless people while laughing.
They don't give a fuck about the country or the people. They care about their m8s from the elite. They care about not upsetting the big media tycoons like Murdoch.
The whole system is fucked.
Or at least that is what I think or have been informed about and was brought up with. I'm a northerner raised by quite liberal parents (Wish they could vote Green but tactically vote Labour) who read the guardian. You are gonna get a different viewpoint from the southerners, I think. I don't go down south that often.
If I'm honest I try and block out politics. I just don't want to hear it at times.

Must have to do with being British or something. Do any of the Brit bongs have such an inclination.
Also Nigell Mansell was fast, but alot of people mention that he had to have his ego stroked. Plus I believe in (83'?), Elio Di Angelis out performed him by quite a bit.
>>15507
Yeah, being an IRL apoligist is an Andretti problem. Although I'd argue at least from Micheal's perspective that it was more governed by his desire to win the Indy 500, which he never had. Ive heard crazy statistic that hes lead the highest percentage (<20%) of Indy laps compared to any driver, yet hasn't won one.
Fuck man If Micheal Andretti's career went the right way. He could been both an Indy and F1 champ easily.

IMO this is a much better pass than the one at Stowe.
In the British GP "comeback" Mansell has an enormous power advantage because of the shitty fuel saving formula at the time.
iirc:

>saved fuel
>had to do an emergency tire change
>turn the boost/fuel up to max

Renault could have easily won a number of times during their works participation, but they had an unweildy and arcane management structure, and by the time they got around to fixing that, everyone else got more powerful engines, negating their advantage.

The next day:
http://www.formula1.com/content/fom-website/en/latest/interviews/2015/7/sebastian-vettel-q-a--ferrari-have-to-learn-from-rivals--tactics.html
>Q: Did you get any technical explanation for Kimi's crash in Austria?
>SV: As far as I understood there was nothing wrong with the car – he just lost the car. He didn't have enough grip and the tyres started to spin up. But what really happened, it's better to ask him. What I've learned is that he just lost the car. The footage was simply not good enough to judge whether there was contact with Fernando (Alonso) or not.
