How does this make you feel?

d4c430 No.252

Makes me feel like a Japanese Tooth Brush.

In all seriousness, that's a pretty sick doppler effect, with a very interesting engine.

What brought you to link such an intriguing vehicle sound?

Nostalgic for the old, chicaneless mulsanne.

seriously though, does anyone remember when LeMans was cool?

When production based cars using the most advanced technology hurtled at 240 miles an hour down mulsanne, exhaust and brakes glowing as they downshifted for the final bend. When a gt1 car could legitimately contend for the overall win, when the greatest drivers with the absolute minimum of mechanical assistance wrangled their cars aggressively, sometimes sideways, down every meter of the circuit de la sarthe. When the fastest production car won the biggest grand touring race. When national representation meant something. When the rising Japanese manufacturers brought increasingly wild cars in order to wrest the prestigious crown from the Europeans.

If only performance was reached through diversity, and not regulation.

why do so many Lemans prototypes now use diesel engines?

because PR, also fuel economy restrictions, also a reduction in focus on outright pace.

so basically the same thing that's ruining f1?
