More seriously, with historical perspective: When the 3.5 liter engines raced against the 2 bar of boost limited turbos, the two engine design paradigms were actually quite well matched. The turbos usually had the edge when raw power was concerned, and saw those advantages in qualifying. But over the course of a race distance the lighter weight and superior reliability under higher load (as well as packaging advantages) gave a huge boost to the NA engines. FIA being the pricks they were and are, raised the minimum weight (which has no reason to exist) massively to rob the NA cars and give dominance to the turbo cars (hence honda-McLaren hegemony over wins that year)
