People are so full of shit with their "Schumacher had traction/launch control" bullshit.

>Important:

>I'm not saying he had it, or that he didn't have it, but that people's arguments are so fucking retarded.

For example, somehow this video is PROOF that Schumacher had launch control.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYca6E6c3IM

It couldn't possibly be that he just had a good start compared to those around him…

I guess Alonso had launch control in his 2013 Ferrari too:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nq884Re2FIs

Then there's the "Senna stood next to the track and listened to Schumacher's car, and confirmed it had traction control" bullshit.

Senna had already been accusing Schumacher of illegal driver aids publicly, so anything he witnessed was massively affected by confirmation bias.

Furthermore, amazingly despite thousands of people standing at hundreds of corners throughout the year, many of whom had been in motorsport for decades, only Senna had hearing capable of determining if traction control was being used. His hearing was even better than video/audio recording devices!

c3e29c No.31790

There is full proof through FIA documents that the car had it.

It's just whether they used it.

IIRC you had to get on a laptop, connect it to the car (standard procedure) and scroll down off the menu until you reached a blank 'option 13' which would engage it. I believe Benetton claimed they only ever used it in testing.

I agree that arguments that senna could hear magical shit is just stupid.

Still if a team was found with launch control (or some setting which was illegal) on the car now and they claimed they never used it outside of testing you have to admit that the FIA would just throw the book at them regardless.

So 470ish HP for Jody in 1974

The horsepower of the 1960 Offenhauser at Indy is harder to nail down.

I'm seeing 450hp claimed "in the early 60's"

So maybe a bit less than that in 1960.

If you are wondering why the guy got off less well:

>Mosley also has an interesting take on what way forward F1 should be taking ahead of January 15.

>"The current problem revolves round engine costs and supply," he explained. "The solution would be rules allowing only two engines per car per season.

>"This would simultaneously double supply and halve costs. Today's engines would require only a modest adjustment to achieve that.

>"The engine suppliers would immediately say it was impossible and would be a disaster, but in the history of F1 there has never once been a case where such predictions have proved accurate".

BLOG

I've suffered at least 5 BSOD's in the past 24hrs

It's getting worse. Something is fucked with one of the drives.

I will 100% buy my new PC before this weekend.

I've gone out and bought a second 2TB external hard drive for extra back up (everything already fits on the first one twice over but you can never be too careful Plus this one is portable)

I also got three encrypted 8gb USB sticks for three extra backups of just the WAG folder.

I also impulse bought myself a new mouse because I've gotten sick of using a Logitech M100.

I hope it has a lot of buttons

I used to wonder why have all the extra buttons on mice and now I don't have enough on this G300

also logitech started gluing their mice together at some point which makes it impossible to open them up and clean shit out of the wheel

I've arbitrarily chosen £1000 because it's nice big round number.

And it is more than enough for someone who really doesn't game much (and definitely not high end games) but I do need something decent for work.

there's more wrong with it than just that.

if you want to go with intel over amd for cpu that's a matter of choice, but if you're not really gaming, the better parallelism of amd's multicore system is better and more bang for the buck.

weird even so. it's like they gave you the meme-est build.

a friend of mine made the mistake of going on reddit and asking them for a build. I looked it as i was going to help him and I concluded that crowdsourcing often produces retarded results.

Plans to speed up 2017 F1 cars watered down after Pirelli concern

tl;dr nobody asked Pirelli if the 2017 regs were realistic and they have found themselves inside a aero-dominated feedback loop trying to find the magic 5 seconds

>more aero = more force on tires

>more force on tires = need higher pressure

>higher pressure = less grip

>less grip = slower lap times

>slower lap times = need more aero

GROUND EFFECT

There is definitely a middle ground to be found between rock tires and cheese tires. Engineer them so that the performance/degradation relationship is more predictable and drivers can choose between driving flat out and nursing the tires. Apparently the current construction won't work for the predicted loads so Pirelli needs more testing anyways.
