I recently got the chance to use a 3D printer for the first time the other day when a friend loaned me his to see if I could get it working again. (I did.) It's a TAZ Lulzbot 3 and it's incredible to me how many parts of it are printed, and how close they are to the heating elements.
I haven't yet used up the single spool of PLA it came with, during my few days of printing mostly trinkets.
Right now I'm working on replicating these:

using this:

I tweaked that guy's model a little because I only have PLA which is much more brittle than the nylon that the official ones are supposed to be made out of.
Got a few hours left before the first ones are done and I can revise and reprint.

What are you all up to?

I'm waiting for my Titan1 to be delivered, I'm super-excited. Wanted the cover on the left, but got the red one; ultimately, it doesn't matter though.
Hope this board doesn't stay dead and we can talk tips/tricks/experiences more.

Stereolithography? Sweet. What kind of materials does it use? How much they cost?

Resin. So far they've been recommending makerjuice.com which looks fairly reasonable, if they have the same yield as filament. However, if you want ABS-hard resin or castable resin, then they suggest 3D-material's stuff which looks really expensive. But stereolithography and the materials for it haven't been available as long for personal use, and the Titan1 is modular, so who knows? It's got pluses and minuses, but it could easily improve more.

Update: Printer and resins are arriving by separate boxes. Both left the same location at roughly the same time, and after a few tracking notifications, the printer disappeared and then the resins did too, for 3-4 days. The resins popped up again, but the printer has not.
>tfw I anticipate getting a useless box of resins ;_;

Nevermind! It's here! Currently about halfway through buliding it. Also, I was wrong, I DID in fact get the orange 'diamond' cover, just need to get somebody to help me put that together.
