I'm stuck on daydreaming about fanfiction instead of studying.

Today? Just almost finished with a lot of life/job shit so I can finalyl go back to writing.

Have one major Frozen fic that's been hanging on since its last update back in May. Current chapter's around 60% done, hope to finish it before Monday morning I guess.

Also have a buncha other stuff lined up but I gotta finish this chapter first.

Do you just write each chapter at a time and publish? Do you have an overview or skeleton that you follow when writing? Do you write a few chapters ahead to ensure things fit together?

I find myself unable to publish long stories, because I keep going back and changing things in the earlier chapters.

Oh, ever since I got into Fanfiction.net-style fanfiction (and writing fanfiction in general) last December, yeah one-chapter-at-a-time-and-publish.

I publish really slow though, 'cause I do happen to have a skeleton/plan/research/detailed notes/flowchart/etc for major fics. Actually, even for not-major fics I do that. But I'm OC and a GM/DM/ST so it's probably out of habit as well.

Wow, flowcharts even? Do you ever find yourself deviating from your plan and what do you do about that? After one too many fics where the characters decided to jump ship for me I've given up on planning beyond five or six chapters ahead and the barest of skeletons. And even then, those five or six chapters keep changing.

I take whatever I've written and just run with it, telling myself that I can always go back and edit later.

Though, I always try rushing through the first twenty thousand words or so, since I think it's easy to lose people in the very early stages of longfic. Since it's all set-up and nothing happening.

Hee hee. I used to be (still am, no players though) a Dungeonmaster/Gamemaster so I like world-building. And my main story is meant to be one of those long fics so I decided to go serious with the research, historical accuracy, plausibility, etc.

And I'm OCD/slightly autistic so I guess that factors in a little.

I primarily write character-driven AU longfics, often structured so the AU's basis is a mystery. Hence why a lot of my earlier chapters are set-up material. In my current work, for the Hamatora fandom, there are about fifteen main characters, all of which are very independent. It's great for achieving the goal of giving them each individual autonomy (which I found lacking in the source), not so good when I try to plan too far ahead since it's difficult to keep all of them in mind.

An update: it took more deliberation than expected but I finally managed to restructure myself some new signposts, which is nice. The characters are starting to behave a bit more too, though now I'm worried about shoehorning. I'm terrified the plot will end up controlling them.

Gonna take a short break, 2-3 days then back to the next one. I've resolved to make my update schedule much faster than before (2-3 months between). If I can narrow it down to a month, I'd be happy.

Working on my "Het Naamloze Verhaal RELOADED"'s Prequel, with references to Deus Ex/HR, Pokemon: The First Movie, TF2 and much more shit!

Hell, I even have my OC version of K.I.T.T and K.A.R.R from Knight Rider! (WittgenTT5-Rstein AWD as K.I.T.T the Volvo 850 TT5-R, not sure on a OC name for K.A.R.R yet, let alone a car..)

Awhile ago, I went back a looked at some fanfiction I wrote when I was around ten or something. It's all about classic CN and Nick cartoons having big crossovers, though there's also some vidya stuff from my edgy teenager phase.

Out of nostalgia, I decided to rewrite one of the earlier stories. It's basically a big crossover clusterfuck of all my childhood cartoons, with a few new ones added in (Steven Universe and Gravity Falls mostly, no ponies here).

Been making me nostalgic.

OT: Writing a fanfic that's unusual for me:

It plays inside the body of Mewfan from Het Naamloze Verhaal because he got shot and the bullet was too deep for the docs to get to.

Fritz the Medic managed to shrink my Mew so small, that she was able to be injected in the bloodstream, which then goes to a journey of getting the bullet out before it inflammates and becomes worse.

Not unless Mew is in her bubble of psychic energy at all times, then she can. It protects her from everything on the outside and is full of oxygen on the inside.

Also, came up with a car for K.A.R.R: A Focus C-Max RS, a C-Max mk1 pre-facelift in Moondust Silver, with a 750 HP Focus RS engine and Haldex AWD from the V50 T5 AWD plus a evil AI named "Wasgenstein"

I'm working on a crossover between Persona 4 and Dark Souls, where a knight from Lordran ends up as Rise's bodyguard and shit starts going down.

There's romance in there somewhere, but I don't like having OC romances happen too fast or they feel hamfisted.
Then again It's probably crap to begin with, but goddamn it I'm going to finish it.
