filtering insults, even if they're shit, is one of the stupidiest things you can do. It builds unnecessary resentment to the mods, and hurts threads when they get derailed into "WHY THE FUCK DID THIS TURN INTO THIS" posting.

Agreed with OP. I think the terms are absolutely retarded, but if you get baited by such simple fare, you deserve what follows. Filtering them only derails a thread into mod bashing instead of console wars, it doesn't actually fix or improve anything.

I think most users came to 8ch to get away from overbearing moderation, not to find a different flavor of it. If we wanted nannies to protect us from ourselves we could have stayed where we were.

Filters should be reserved for links and occasional humorous use. I reiterate what I've said before, you should be encouraging and publicizing the use of filters and post hiding instead of deciding what's best for users.

None that I've seen. I've seen faggots try to say it and then get pissy about it but I've never seen a thread derailed because of it.
