I would say talking to waitresses is better. Going to the same place over and over and seeing the same people, and waitresses will have time and will actually properly chat with you if you go in during the boring hours.

Also I know it used to help me whenever I was still nervous to have someone go with you to a restaurant. My grandfather and I go out to eat all the time, often to the same places, and every waitress from anywhere we go knows us. Sometimes he would be goofing around and making jokes with the waitress, and I would sit there awkwardly, but when I found a funny thing to finally say, I would say it. It gave me extra time, because my grandpa would do the talking while I thought about what to say.
Waitresses are also often just very nice and are happy to serve someone that is friendly and not a douche.

Seeing people over and over in public is worse. I don't want them to know me. I hated going out with the fam, with or without people don't help me. Waitresses piss me off since they have this fake happiness about them, it like they are flaunting their supposed happiness.
Internships are not like retail jobs, you are their to do research and leaem, nobody makes friends in them, often people are really competitive and might try to screw you. You just do the work and leave. There are no friends in academia.

Stardew Valley, an almost carbon copy of Harvest moon, the game which it was inspired by and has most of the features of the entire series, along with some added features.
It's an enjoyable game if you have the patience as the game progresses really slowly. The game was also made by one person who even after release is working hard on the game promising new content for free and even going so far as to fix peoples corrupted saves.
Game does fall short on a few things however but it is an exceptionally well done package overall for a one man dev.

I had to Google harvest moon. I looked at the snes one and it definitely looks better than Starjew, particularly the character sprites. Everything is a little more stylised and cute, its comfort level is higher than SV.

I would disagree. There is a lot of care being put into his sprites so as to keep a consistent look in the characters and vegetation which is the most important content in such a game.

I just took a few pictures of SV and checked the colours manually and the large majority of the colour palette is above 80% saturation, about 25% of it, above 90%. It's disgusting and is dangerously close to the way pre-teens design their original the characters, though they go straight up 100% saturation for everything, which is what makes them look so bad. There's no good reason to make this the style of the game. It's distracting and I imagine it would make my eyeballs hurt.

Upon more research, I found most of the sprites in this game lack a sense of shadow, leaving highlights and mid-tones dominant which is probably the main source of your strong distaste. By design choice or inexperience, this I do not know.
But because of how the tones are set up without any strong shadows to counter the highlights, having a reduction of saturation would make the overall image less appealing in my point of perspective.

While you see it as a sign of an amateur, I do not, not in this case at least. True that over saturation is a common mistake for the beginner artist, however in this case, it looks well done in that you can see that most of his sprites are carefully shaded and for that I wouldn't dismiss it as a work of an amateur.
Isn't being colorful a unique personality of it's own? From what I've gathered from the general consensus, any art style that is simplified and caricaturized will look childish. It is not dependent solely on color scheme. Our brains look for silhouette first, colors and details after. Color adds to the overall image setting the tone and mood but cannot set the stage as well as music and visuals can.
I may have used the term heavily stylized loosely however by definition, it is still stylized. While I do not prefer the look of the characters he has created myself, I will admit that he has managed to create a cast of characters unique to their own while keeping it grounded.

I'm actually not sure if anybody prefers the Skype chat. Its primary advantage is that it alerts everybody logged into Skype so it's easy to get fast responses, while 8ch is a shitbox that continually stops updating while you're in another tab. It's possible you'll like it more though, I remember you wanting to have a Skype group.
