I used to keep for myself, a lot of girls I met trough games do. Iknew if I shared it with people they would get an impression I was an attention whore. So I just don't speak about it except to my close friends and people I play regularly online.
Other than that I've read somewhere that the ratio of women to men is 1:7 so of course it will be harder to meet them. It also depends on the type of game, mmorpgs have more women than FPS games, at least from my personal experience.

Until you've played and actually finished upwards of 100 games at least, I don't think you can count yourself among the hardcore.
I've met several girls that play a lot but have narrow tastes though. Like only sticking to dnd and occasional vidya, playing only one mmorpg (WoW) or similar.
Hell I used to date one, we played WoW like ~30 hours a week.. Shit was extremely fun and I have many many fond memories, but it got boring after 2 and a half years.
She just didn't want to try anything else while I got bored and started to play less and less on account of my huge backlog of other games. Of course we didn't break up just on account of that, but I was too caught up in the idea that I was dating a "gamer" girl, that I failed to see that our tastes just weren't matching up.

I thought I was done having collected all 150 pokemons, and there it was… mew, descended from the heavens and I didn't know it even existed.
I made sure to wash it up, apply glue and stick it in my album. IT WAS GLORIOUS.

King's Quest is overrated, but OK. Point and Click is an over saturated genre from that era and there's a ton of shit in it.

You know, from the perspective of a male, I wouldn't really care if someone was "Hardcore" or "Casual" when it came to video games, I'd just want someone who I can speak with on near equal terms about the hobbies I love without them looking down on me for liking said hobbies. Because really, why is watching television, reading a book, or listening to music any less "Valid" of a hobby than video games or anime? That makes no sense to me and when I ask why people think that I never get a straight answer. Is it just because people don't partake in said hobbies and it's easier to knock the unknown than try it out or do people just have a vendetta against the hobbies?

Plenty of male gamers want earlier access to hyped games, want to put down money to get strong quick, want the game and its characters to please their feelings, and want (or can't resist getting) expanded content to the games they enjoy.

I think it can say a lot about any players skill, when take and set instead into starcraft. People will low iq's and reaction times are quickly frusterated and weeded out.
I'm a big fan of Ender's Game, and the series following. If you're a fan of the books; the holographic games played by the genius children within the battle room, reminds me of Starcraft. When rereading one of these books, I interchange the simulation with Stracraft, and it seems a valid replacement, to hone childrens strategic knowledge and quick thinking.
